I first heard this song just now and it reminds me of my grandma. This one I will learn until it pops when I played it with my style. Thanks for sharing your talent. Appreciate it buddy
David, your lesson here is excellent. Clear, explanatory, very well demonstrated. Your teaching technique ( from a bit of a fusspot ) observes the classical form: First, you tells them what you’re gonna tell them; then you tells them; then you tells them what you told them. The tab is good font size. The sound is great. Many thanks from your friends in BC. ps I have an idea for you. This morning, while working on some classic kickoffs ( Grisman on the Bluegrass Reunion album ) I noticed on the net there is a Kickoff instruction book for banjos. There is none for mando. There is need for one. So I’m thinking... Again many thanks.
Hey Peter! Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, hoping to do more kickoffs like this in the future! Maybe we'll have to put them all together for a book at some point! Until then, happy picking!
David, where can I find the transcription for this simple melody. I’ve got the Patreon membership at the Whisky before breakfast level, and can only find the chords and variation pdf. I find Patreon’s layout confusing when I want to look a tune up. I find I have to scroll through everything to find what I want. Your lessons and advice are great however. I’m a total beginner (mandolin and music in general) and feel like I am learning a lot. Love getting your e-mails with new tunes and oh so much about the music and other musicians also. Great videos and lessons.
Hey Deb! Sorry for the trouble. Have you seen the intro video and content list pinned to the top of the Patreon page when you log in? Might have some helpful direction on how to navigate the page more effectively. Thanks for joining!

This video "unlocked" a bunch of connections for me! Thanks.
You've done a marvellous job here on breaking down this tune and explaining the options. Thank you David. 👍
My pleasure!

I'd love your videos David. You make it look so easy

I'm offended that you called a "tiny boi" a "little baby note". At least use the proper terminology!
😆😆😆
FYI The proper terminology is acciaccatura!
