To me, this would probably be amongst the best and clearest of explanations I've seen or heard on how to improvise on a tune. Your concise verbal skills, backing that up with excellent notation and playing, makes this a very useful and informative video indeed. Thank you. More please. 😉
@@DavidBenedictMandolin Dave, I attend jams when I can. ( Not so much these days w/ virus ) Almost every time, I will hear this great tune played at least once. With 10 fiddlers, 10 or more guitars, a few mandolins, a couple banjos, everybody gets a solo break -- tune can last 15 or 20 minutes. Ha, great tune. Thanks for this one. By the way, one can hear several versions, played the way each person learned it -- what a treat for the ears !

open chorfs sound great...but closed chop chords totally suck! harf to get a clear chord and sound like garbage!...not worth the effort.
