Was watching EMD on half-speed, then took a break. Started watching this and thought, whoa, he's been drinking and recording. 😂

Sir, could you please make a similar exercise for minor scales ? Is there any way to practise minor scales one after another like major scales ?

hey, love ur channel. Got a question for u.
Guitar is my main instrument and im currently learning mandolin on my really bad and old mando with no company name etc.
I will maybe join a folky band and I'm wondering, should I buy acoustic or electric for playing shows? Got a guitar amp or would it be better just to mic up mando. My budget is low

I’m a beginner mandolin but I might suggest maybe putting extra light gauge strings but idk

Do like I do and revel in the torture. I have a laughably crappy mando and it’s shredded my middle finger pad in particular, but now I have some impressive calluses. I think playing a good instrument would feel like butter in contrast.

The scales without open strings are so hard

This is all Grismans stuff, or Ronnie McCoury, but after being up to their neck in this everyday, they know this in their sleep. Lucky fellows.

There’s a phrase commonly used for order of sharps:
“Father Charles Goes Down And Ends Battles”
    Flats in reverse:
“Battle Ends And Down Goes Charles Father”
