"Part of Your World" is sung by Ariel in the Disney-movie The Little Mermaid from 1990. Sissel is the voice of Ariel in the Norwegian, Swedish and Danish version of The Little Mermaid.
Sissel, the international singing sensation from Norway, is widely regarded as one of the finest and most talented sopranos in the world. Her crystalclear voice has made Sissel a national institution in Norway. Sissel has sung all over the world, selling over ten million solo albums. She contributed the haunting vocal tracks for the soundtrack to Titanic. She has been doing great duets with singers like Placido Domingo, Charles Aznavour, Bryn Terfel, Jose Carreras, Russell Watson, Neil Sedaka and Josh Groban. A remarkable voice you only hear once in your lifetime.

I don't understand why people think Marie Galey is better. I found her too popstar and melancholy for Ariel. Sissel Kyrkjebø just sounds more majestical and I love how she gets into the role, like Jodi Benson.
I fricken love that the overall scandinavian voice for Ariel (Sissel recorded all of the scandinavian languages) and she is the voice that everyone remembers from Titanic apart from Celine Dion

So she is THE Ariel in my opinion! Everyone on earth who has ever come into contatc with the Titanic movie has heard her beautiful voice. THIS is who us scandinavians had as the voice of Ariel!!! Im so happy about that, its just right. Especially considering that the story is by a Danish writer, H.C.Andersen and Sissels voice is known throughout the world through Titanic.
Both she and her voice are just simply gorgeous! She sings like an angel! 💖

It's like Disney forgot what mermaids and sirens are... the voice.. the voice has to be MORE than your usual Disney voice singer.

My older sister when she was little she loved Ariel so she decided to flush down the VHS down the toilet to set Ariel free fear to say mom wasn’t happy ( and for people who don’t know what VHS is it was something we had before dvd if you don’t know what that is it was before we had streaming)

I fell sorry for the rest of the non-Scandinavian countries, that had to settle with a singer - that was not Sissel.
Hva skjedde med henne i Ariel 2?
Guri Schanke overtok som stemmen til Ariel i de to neste oppfølgerne til filmen, samt i tv-serien som gikk på 90-tallet. Dette forklarer hvorfor Ariel plutselig byttet fra bergensdialekt til østlandsdialekt men dette er rettet opp igjen delvis i "Rive-Rolf Krasjer Internett" (2019) der alle Disney-prinsessene dukker opp i en scene og hvor Ariels stemme igjen har bergensdialekt, denne gangen dubbet av Emily Hammer.
Jeg hade bare hört henne synge den svenske versjonen förut, men jeg tror faktisk jeg liker den norske teksten lidt bedre :) Og denne videon var ett kjempesmukt performance, hun er ikke bare sangere men skuespiller med mye fölelse.
Jag tycker hennes röst kommer mér till sin rätt í den norska versionen, där hon inte har någon brytning.
Gillar båda versionerna förstås. ♡
