    Saw it from a mile away when you included all of your courses with the previous kickstarter, thought it'd be better to just wait for the updated one and here we are haha.

    For the alignment tip, instead of using move point to point, try the align command instead. Type S (for search), then type align. Click the two faces you want aligned.. and voila!

    I think I'm going to have to dabble with the whole attachment thing to figure out how to make the Hoberman Spheres since no sufficient models seem to be available for them..

    Okay, coping those settings makes a gear, but you didn't teach us how to make a gear the size we want. What do all those parameters do?

    • @bergamt
      @bergamt 10 месяцев назад +2

      The main settings that affect gear size are the number of teeth and the module. Module is pitch diameter divided by the number of teeth, and needs to match for two gears to mesh. Generally with gears you choose a module and then the number of teeth controls the diameter of the gear.
      Pressure angle controls the shape of the gear teeth, and also needs to match between meshing gears.
      Backlash is a small value to correct for inaccuracies in manufacturing, ideally you have enough that the gears can smoothly turn without much play.
      Root fillet radius adds a fillet inside the gear teeth, hole diameter is the diameter of the hole in the gear, and gear thickness is the thickness of the gear.

      Simply change the number of teeth for bigger gears

    Lol this is such a lazy form of modeling you guys are gonna let A.i take your job at this point

      don't be so dramatic. He's just using a plugin that was created by a human just to save time doing a repetitive task. Your going to need those parameters every time you designing a simple spur gear so you might as well just create a plugin for it.

      Perhaps I do not understand your comment... Are you saying that if he had used a more complex, and more time consuming method, but accomplished the same task, then A.I. wouldn't take his job from him? Would A.I. ignore him, and leave his job alone if he had made two gears polygon by polygon, and then wrote physics based code that simulated gear behavior? Is A.I. lazy too?
