    You can turn off the voice prompts on the Alto by holding down the Pair and Link button together for about 4 seconds. You will hear it say "voice off".

    Viewer comment: In response to some folks posting that the Bose S1 Pro wasn't loud enough, especially in the vocals department. Since loud and soft are relative terms I decided to measure actual decibel levels. The app I used is called Decibel X. It's a must app for all musicians. In this video, my vocal (Shure SM 58) volume is set at 3/4 with 1/4 reverb, which I changed to 1/2 after viewing this video and my instrument volume is at 1/2. What I discovered was this battery operated, 15 lb. speaker is not as loud as my my 39 lb. JBL EON615 which puts out 127 db max. SPL or my 41 lb. JBL EON One line array which puts out 118 db max. SPL. NO, this unit puts out only 103 db peak (did I mention it only weighs 15 lbs.) What does it all mean you ask? SPL stands for Sound Pressure Level and it's the primary objective unit of measure for output (NOT Watts). Continued exposure to SPL above 90 dB can cause permanent hearing damage. Remember that dB levels drop the further away from the source... the goal is to have a level of 85 dB max where the listener is, thus the reason these units have a rating of over that, which gives you some head room. I also discovered that this unit is ideal for small rooms with 40-50 people or busking. It's size and weight make this unit very, very convenient especially for solo or duo musicians/singers.

    Great video! I am anxious to hear the difference. I got a couple Alto ts308 speakers and the matching ts312sud before I bought my Bose S1pro speakers and the Bose Sub1's and sud 2. I compared the two sets and the Bose was a little better especially considering the rated power difference. But for the money they are a great system! I have barely used the Alto speakers but i still like them enough to keep them . LOL so i am intrigued by the new battery powered Alto speakers.

    You can turn the voice prompts off on the alto. I bought the alto but channel 2 was just a bunch of static and didn't work so i sent it back and ordered the bose s1 pro. I'm thinking the bose will have better quality control

    I am enjoying your videos! Thanks for posting. I’m heavily leaning towards an Everse 8. I’ve had zero issues gigging with my Alto TS310. Are you using the Alto Pro App? I am curious if you could select more than on Effect at a time on the app? Like Reverb AND a delay at once?

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz

      Everse is another league than Alto! EV App is #1/Alto App is Basic to say the least. No, I haven't tried reverb and delay at the same time. Probably not?

    Alto Busker has latest Bluetooth 5.0 for max distance -100 feet, not sure if S1 Pro is 4.0?

  • @WWeiss-nv5vz
    @WWeiss-nv5vz  8 месяцев назад +3

    Just completed my Max sound test: On Bluetooth, same distance- about 3 meters, same track : both speakers were equal in max volume. 99.8dB iPhone volume was maxed out. Difference was S1 Pro would clip red at anymore boost in volume/Alto volume was maxed out on main out and Bluetooth channel. At these max settings couldn't get the Alto to clip red. What this tells me, if I use a mixer to boost the gain further, the Alto has more headroom to spare. At this max volume Alto sounded perfectly clean, zero sign of distortion. Very impressive! This little speaker is a stick of dynamite!! At same max volume, S1 Pro starts to sound harsh.

    • @jlo5443
      @jlo5443 7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, really useful finding thank you! Could you please explain for a non technical sound person what mixer I would need? This would be a pure cook out / BBQ speaker for me, so extra max volume would be great, but not if it means lots of extra kit,especially if it needs mains power. Is there a very basic way to boost the signal in over bluetooth that is small / batter powered? Thanks for the excellent reviews and info.

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  7 месяцев назад

      Yamaha MG 06X will give a nice gain boost, easily run off the least expensive external battery:www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MG06X--yamaha-mg06x-6-channel-mixer-with-effects@@jlo5443
      At this time nothing out there to boost a Bluetooth signal. Running without a mixer, the EV Everse 8 at $750 is noticeably more powerful than the Bose or Alto.

    • @jlo5443
      @jlo5443 7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks so much, I'll try it out with Bluetooth and if it needs a boost maybe run a Bluetooth adapter into the aux in with a little gain in between somehow. Everse 8 looks scary loud!

      Interesting idea! Not sure if a Bluetooth adapter will increase gain??@@jlo5443

    • @jlo5443
      @jlo5443 7 месяцев назад +1

      Tried bluetooth directly with the Alto I received today and I can easily get clipping to red from my phone (a Samsung android phone) so plenty of volume, no need for work arounds. Perhaps the Bluetooth gain depends on the source device? I've certainly found some Bluetooth adapters louder than others in other use cases. I found the Busker speaker very harsh in monitor mode and totally lacking bass. Putting it in 'stand mount' mode made a huge difference, much more pleasant sound and all the bass came back.

  • @MariusMarius-qd4nc
    @MariusMarius-qd4nc 2 месяца назад +1

    I tested them, alto has more power, but the sound quality for a singer is poor, bose has more bass, if you increase the volume it doesn't bother you, while alto bothers you, the mixer is weak in effects, for children it's good, that's all

    • @Charleythegod
      @Charleythegod 8 месяцев назад +2

      I agree. Pretty pointless to use a sub if you cant remove the bass off the bose s1
      Also I plugged in my upright bass and I couldn’t remove the bass unless I used a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter through the blue tooth channel but then you get no EQ
