Omgg a full lesson, this will be super precious for those who are looking to learn this piece. I admire your dedication and effort in creating this, Louise!!
I've actually never learned this original as my friend played it sooo well that I avoided it. Haha. Now she's my sister in law and time has past and I think I will give it a go! ;)
Wonderful in depth Tutorial Louise. The intro was fascinating, especially Debussy actual guidance to his student on this piece! I had no idea Debussy’s inspiration had come from Verliane’s poem. I’m certain that many fortunate students will benefit enormously from your inspiring teaching, analysis, and musical integrity. 👏🌝🎶🌝🎹💜
Wow Louise, a brilliant in-depth masterclass on this beautiful piece of music. Well done for all your hard work in putting this together. I loved it! xx
I really appreciate this walk-through from note to note on this one of the most mesmerizing masterpiece. I was able to play this song for years until I started to dig in more of the creation and I realized I needed more tutorials on the nitty gritty essence of this music. Your teaching is one of the best transcending Debussy's magics. Props to the best music educator RUclips has to offer! You deserve absolutely more students!
I have been working on this piece recently (having come to the piano rather late in life) and I had become rather bogged down in the (for me) technical challenges it presents. However, your tutorial has allowed me to take a step back and look again at the emotional substance of the piece and somehow, t's also helping me to overcome the tricky corners! Thank you for such an illuminating and engaging work-through.
RUclips is so weird! You said, "I'm going to share a little secret with you" and RUclips immediately inserted a Burger King commercial and some truck commercial. It's like the algorithm is paying attention to your words...
Thank you so much for sharing this. I truly love the details you provide and how they pull emotion through the music. Might you be able to give more information on what is meant with phrase "never bump after a tie in the melody" (25:35)? And can you explain why I only count 6 beats in bars like 21?
