tbh coming from someone who has been practicing the dempsey roll for almost 6 months now, only the final punch follows the patters. The rest are just dempsey figure 8 head moves or slips into a straight or 45 to the liver/kidney. still awesome but very different from jack's use of it

This is a great match. Red guy had a reach advantage but he really didn't make use of his longer arms. He could've just tried to keep his distance and fight with his longer reach but instead he succumbed to the blue guy's pressure in the first round but he did try to compensate for his mistake in the first round and started fighting to his advantage, but it was too late. He already lost against the blue guy's pressure and he was playing the way blue wanted him to. He threw that right arm for no reason and immediately got hit by a left hook counter.
Red guy is a good fighter for changing his fighting style and trying to play to his advantage but blue guy was just a lot faster, smarter and a lot more tenacious than him. Both are really good fighters but blue was just a lot smarter in this fight.

His skill is so great that even I felt his aura at 1:34.
I'm not even into boxing that much, I don't know too much, but here it clearly looks like a very menacing movement that he attempts once (with a certain balance of his body and head, looks like a taunt), and then again, finishing with that straight punch.

@@Overly_Hydrated I dont know man, its hard to say a technique inst great when it inspired some of the best fighters in the world. Joe frazier clearly took a page out of Dempsey's book and of course, mike Tyson.
Its defenetly out dated as theres better takes on it, like the entirety of the peek a boo style. But its still a great technique.
Also countering rolls with straight punches is not a great idea. Precisely because of it ended up for red guy.
Its playing into the opponents game. He wants younto throw a straight punch so he can roll and counter. Its better to use hooks too catch him as hes moving tooward your punch, or just take a note from foreman and ali and post with your lead hand to stop head movement all together

+Cielo Greene I'm talking about the expression you used. Two-faced is an expression that implies that a person is insincere, or acts one way but contrary to that when around others. So it doesn't work here. Double-edged sword is an expression that implies something has both favorable and unfavorable consequences, like how you were describing the Dempsey roll. It either has a favorable or unfavorable consequence when used.
