    well I just bought SuperTacks girdle and I have to say I like them much. I've got used ones but in good condition with just a few rips and imperfections. Before I used Warrior Covert DT1 pants, which were good and protective, but I felt bit uncomfortable and restricted in movements. SuperTacks is very close to 9K and since it's very hard to buy 9K in Europe I decided to try Tacks. From design perspective it's somewhere between jetspeed and 9k but I believe 9K is still best protective of all. I really like that back-middle part against crosschecks on 9K and I think tacks could be better with it. Otherwise length adjustment is great and maybe better than on 9K. I have ordered NHL pro stock ccm pptk shell since I have only a simple pants shell which is not perfect match to girdle. I also hope that padded belt will bring some more protection on lower back area and all together will serve me well. I have played only twice in it, but I'm already convinced that girdle will work much better to me then standard pants. I will write some upgrade when I get a shell and try girdle&shell combo few more times. Ones again thanks for your content, I love your honest opinions and deep views and since I see thinks similar to you it's very useful to watch you channel. Keep going !

    These Reebok 9k Girdles are the real deal. For anyone that's curious, the size chart for these are as follows:
    MD = 30-34
    LG = 34-36
    XL = 36-38
    They run a bit small and are definitely a more tapered fit than some other girdles out there. Since the length is adjustable, it's recommended to size up so it won't feel as tight. Or ya can hit the gym/get in shape and it will give you some motivation to get them to fit, haha!

      Thanks! A local store has about 3 Mediums and 2 Larges in stock. I've been on the fence about picking them up, but I'm kind of sold on them.
      What size shell are you using? I'm assuming shells would fit over the medium girdle, etc.

    Just picked up a new 9k girdle on sideline swap, cant wait to get it. i tried the ccm jetspeee and the bauer ACP pro, i found that they lacked protection compared to pro level pants that i wear. I found the lacking of the inner flap in the front to be an issue for me, the Bauer had literally nothing in the front and the same with the ccm. Will be interested to see how the 9k compares

    The reebok 9k girdle was offered retail back in like 2005. Had it all through pros (not nhl) and the ones offered to the teams were the same just wasn't dishing money. Retail back then they were around $230. CCM I know uses a new aero type foam which is maluable but extremely strong. I use the ccm jetspeed girdle currently in men's DIV 1 (RCHL) which sees some NHL players play in the summer without issues. They work, and I play D, so they're holding up

    This video is great! I am having the same issue with falling in my pants and getting bruises and sometimes hitting the same place a few times. It is taking me out of games and causing me to lose playing time. Would you suggest would be the most protective pant/girdle I could get for a reasonable price?

    • @HockeyReviews
      @HockeyReviews  Год назад

      Look for XP version of CCM pants if you want the most protection, you can usually get them for A LOT cheaper than retail pants as well.
      Even if you got HPUCLP or HP45 you would be getting a bump in protection vs retail pants.
      Here is a video with 2 pairs I own, both are solid recommendations and you probably don't need the XP ones to be honest.

      I can help. I've been trying different girdles trying to find the best one for me. So far I've tried the True girdle, Reebok 9k, Sherwood Code V, and Bauer ACP Pro. The ACP pro was probably the most frustrating of the bunch because of the price. It runs a tad big. The worst thing is there is virtually zero protection in the front. Like actually zero. If you don't have a pro stock jock with additional padding, I'd be very nervous haha. I didn't like how the 9k tugged against the back of my legs since the thigh pads hang from the front, making the back pads tug on the back of my legs. If the 9k had the same length adjustment as the Jetspeed, it would be perfect. The Sherwood just seemed cheap and the True girdle is like compression pants which I didn't like (I want length adjustments). None of them worked for me and I returned them all. I ordered the Jetspeed girdle to try since it's the most similar to the 9k so I'm crossing my fingers I like it enough. The only thing is the shells are so hard to find right now so I grabbed a bauer.
      I play in a true lower level beer league so girdles seem like the right way to go.

The only thing I don't like about the Jetspeed girdle is lack of belly pad. I wear the Super Tacks girdle as well (just slightly too small for me), but dislike the lack of butt protection. It's a shame that CCM rebranded the super tacks girdle, but cut off the belly protection.

    Thanks for the review! How does 9K compare to ACP Pro Girdle?
    Also I'm curious - why does it have velcro attachments for socks but no pocket for the cup?! Makes little sense especially since the inner part seems to sit very snug to the body, so how would a normal compression jock with velcro work underneath?

    • @HockeyReviews
      @HockeyReviews  2 года назад

      Unfortunately I haven't been able to see the ACP Pro girdle so I can't really comment on it and how it compares sorry.
      For the cup pocket, I think at the time Reebok/CCM designed this for people who use their pro jocks or just a straight up jock strap without the compression shorts. I wear these with a CCM Pro Jock and my only issues is I'm too fat so it is a bit harder to get on, but once on I have non issues at all.

      Hockey Reviews I like the Bauer girdles for fit and comfort, but I do not like the shells bc they feel restrictive, so I go with regular shells instead and I feel they lack protection too. Yes some pros do where the Bauer girdles and I think they are too expensive.
      I am considering the ccm super tacks but I hear they run small and like you I’m 6’3 and 220 with large legs and always where xl pants. After being hit with to many pucks I would like to step up protection and the option of cleaning my pants shells too. Today a pair of 9k girdles I was watching were sold. So do I go with the super tacks or jet speed. Not sure. The super tacks have the odd strap on the inside of the hips. I know that will drive me nuts if there is any rubbing on my hips. Also I like the wrap girdle that open up and not step into. I am open to any advise
