    Great video. One thing is a bit confusing. Tommy (hope I am writing this right) used to say in the video that the Ribcor 100k skates are much better than the stiff Tacks. Now he has a custom ASV Tacks?

      I think he compared the Ribcor 100K to the AS3 Pros, but am not sure. Remember to take everything said in these videos with a healthy dose of salt.

    I wish this video was available a couple months ago! I wonder if the CCM ordering software is different in the UK compared to the US? I placed an order for the Total Custom Plus on the ASV Pro, and the retail location didn't show the look of my skate OR offer as many customized options (unless the rep just wasn't aware of those). I also had to specifically request the ankle cut that is exactly like yours in the video (straight across, and not angled down like the retail ASV skate). However I also didn't get the new flexible tendon guard, and they installed a much smaller and stiff tendon guard...???
    Great video though! Anyone considering the custom version MUST watch this. Super helpful.
    *And my personal vote on the two custom skates, I prefer Chris's version ;-) Both look great though! Cheers gents

    I kinda want to have the scan done. I've been skating out a lot more than goalie and I have short wide feet. The wide fit actually works the best of any retail skates I've worn but I'd love to see what they say.

  • @paull4968
    @paull4968 Год назад

    I love the ability to fit the skates to the person. I have a high instep and the regular boot does not lace up tight. The wide skates are too big for my foot. So hard to find the right skates and try on so many to get that right fit. I am a low level player but it helps to have the right fit. It is like basketball shoes before there were many choices. Skates did not give you this. You have to adjust the size of the skate, width of the skates. And they bake them to get the best fit. I would rather spend the money to get that custom fit. So much better. Awesome video. I will be saving up for this when this skate I am in breaks down and needs to be replace.

    I am in for custom plus also. But still have questions. Wat is the advantage with a symmetrical? Higher boot and lower laces up front and down below. I have always problem with forward stretch my tong is to stiff I think so I have my laces on top not tight. But I have rather a less stiffer tong. So I am gone try a few of them to see what’s the difference. Why didn’t you guys asked for that. If a 4 mm is better for skating but less protective then I have a hard choice.

    Prefer the beefy look of your skates, mainly because of the tongue.
    I need a thick tongue just like that.
    Prefer tommy’s color combo, though.
    Prefer the overall look of the retail than both custom skates.
    If i were to do custom, definitely picking that k pro tongue, some donuts, increase the boot height to retail or maybe just a lil higher like the 100ks, right skate 8.3”, left skate 8.5”thick waxed 132” laces, ccm logos in green, with golden-yellow accents.

    How did you customize the "Comfort edge" around the ankle at the top of the boot?
    I have been asking my local Pure hockey shop & they said this isn't an option with the custom skates. I have ton of pain in this location & 1 of the main reasons I am looking at custom skates is to get this resolved. To not be able to customize or add more padding to this portion of the skate I find to be ridiculous. Then looking at your skate, it seems there is more padding & better shape than the retail version.
