So wonderful to see Luigi - what a handsome boy he is!! And you’re quite right on the mince pie ranking; as with any scientific experiment, you have to limit the variables as much as possible. There are so many kerayzee variations on a mince pie theme these days that I question whether some of them even have the very RIGHT to be known as a mince pie! What a bonkers world we live in. 🤪
Omg this made me miss London and UK supermarket snacks so much 😭 I'm in Australia and surprisingly there is quite a competitive range of mince pies here - my favourite one this year is fairly traditional but made by a local Dutch baker and the lid of the pie is made of gingerbread and is star shaped 💫 The subtle addition of speculaas flavour (the rest of the pastry is normal and lovely) just great but doesn't stray too far lol.
