man this advice is timeless. jayne and other coaches have always told lower sr players that there's no excuse to not shoot as fast as the hero allows. really glad to hear you say that's not the case, and helped alot.
Sometimes I feel like I get flustered in team fights, it almost feels like I’m so focused on not dying or trying to one clip someone I forget everything else around me and tunnel vision things and end up overthinking everything.
This shows why console players are superior. We don't actually aim, we just move until something gets into our crosshair, so we learned this pretty early.
The thing I appreciate most about this is that you edited the whole thing, meaning you care about making it a proper educational resource. Not many people care that much.
Always had a hard time hitting headshots, this video actually helped me ALOT when it comes to aiming in general and what to think about while doing it. Honestly don't think I would've hit Gm without it. So yeah thanks for the educational video S4
I am so glad to hear someone point out the impact of movement on "good aim days" - I would add the other big factor is simply taking the time along with this to aim. A good example of this is indeed the bot room - you don't move most often there, and on top you take the time to aim in most cases.... in real play, people are often jinking to avoid being shot randomly, and not taking time to actually aim....
Small note on Lucio: The gun does the same damage now that he did in beta. Beta he had slow-traveling 20dmg shots, they nerfed it to slow 15dmg shots. The rework upped it back to 20 and increased projectile speed a bit. The one difference in his damage output is that melee's 30, not 50 damage as it was sometime in beta.
I've recently become a huge fan of yours Surefour. thanks for the awesome vids man you have really affected my gameplay for the better! Youre a chill guy, I hope you have a good Christmas dude!!
Hey Surefour, i just want to say thank you and tell you that a lot of people in the overwatch community appreciate your content, it helps a lot and specially this video helped me cure my cancer thoughts on movement. I improved so well by your help and i want to say thank you a lot.
This guide was super helpful. Thanks for putting something so comprehensive together for the community S4! I've always struggled trying to adopt a flick style just to transition from soldier/tracer to mccree/ashe but I think you've shown that it isn't really that necessary + its mainly about my movement being too hard to compensate for. Cheers!
When people watch LeBron they want to emulate him. So the next time they're in a pickup game, they go for fade away jump shots five feet from the 3 point line. Or going for 1 handed catches in football when you could easily catch with two hands.
as a long time fps player from CS 1.6 to Unreal Tournament 2003 to Tribes Ascend to Quake Live i enjoyed every minute of this, because this explains why aiming in overwatch is really fun, there's so many styles and movement patterns and intricacies within just aiming heroes and that's just a subsection of overwatch. thanks Surefour. btw i'm also a tracker ;)
With zen, I loosely track their body and flick into my shots. It just helps with consistentcy because the process is more similar for every shot. Also, I only ever have to do small flicks. Like if I'm tracking them and they switch running directions, I flick onto the new tracking and then do my normal flick to head shot them (charging 3+ the whole time)

I do agree with a lot of your comments and thoughts about csgo, even tho I think you still need to acquire vertical and diagonal muscle memory and do flick shots, not due to movements and physics of the game, but more about the positions and spots where your enemies are able to stand ( many maps actually have some highgrounds or low levels to the ground that changes the philosophy of just keep the crosshair at the height of their head in "normal situations" ). I'm not a pro, but after playing about 7500h on CSS and CSGO, that is my personnal conclusion.

This video is amazing. I've only recently made the move over to PC from xBox and have been playing tank, but when I play anything that isn't Rein or Winston I feel like I'm throwing. Then in deathmatch my McCree and Widow flicks are insane and my friends are baffled, but after watching this I've figured its because I don't move. LeftCtrl is in such an awkward spot for me to hit so I don't crouch ever and if I move too much I miss. I don't have these habits burned in of AD spamming so I move very predictably and just use the mouse. Now I just need to keep practising my tracking and projectile aim and I'll be much more versatile.
@@wevibin9219 i already have melee and my e bound (my left shift as well in rein and brig's case) x jayne said in a video some people like to always have their fingers on a and d so that works for me, but tbh as a main tank the crouching isn't a huge issue
I play Zen and I aim where they're going and shoot ahead of them, then slowly continue shooting in that direction. So I kind of spray the area that they're going, at head level, and it works pretty well. You spam the area like you would as Soldier just further ahead. Same thing with Lucio. If they're not really moving you hammer that spot. If they're going right you hammer around the area that they're headed based on the normal speed of most heroes compared to the speed of your projectile. That sounds hard, but it takes practice and you get it. When I first picked up Lucio I was pissed at how slow his projectiles move, not I can aim pretty damn well. Also as Lucio you use your mobility to close the gap and make your shot easier. This works well against everyone except Junkrat I've found, because of his damn mines. I went off on a tangent about Lucio, but just remember to bounce on and off walls. No one can hit you, when you're not on the ground.
@masterdeetectiv9520 her projectile hitbox is also a lot smaller than widows. The faster fire rate also seems to mess people up on ashe because they try to chain bounce flick shots like you do on cass. When ashe is still in her recoil/ reload animation and you hold down the fire button, you end up queuing up the bullet to fire as the animation finishes which has a slower rhythm than cass. On top of that, the recoil aim compensation setting when left on, seems to interact weirdly with ashes gun sway. Psa side note: the 1:1 aim sensitivity isn't a silver bullet, it is only truly 1:1 at the point of the cross-hair and has a linear distortion the further out you go (because of the parallax effect of the fov) if you have an aim style that relies primarily on wide flicks, the 1:1 sens might actually be a detriment. The 1:1 sens is best for micro adjust flicks and tracking.
oh man i just switched to toggle aim.. older gamer have been trying to kinda get into aiming with arm but still fallback to wrist and man that helps a lot

You need to adjust scoped sensitivity (they have different values to match with unscoped sensitivity)
Ana’s is same as widow

On top of that, the recoil aim compensation setting when left on, seems to interact weirdly with ashes gun sway.
Psa side note: the 1:1 aim sensitivity isn't a silver bullet, it is only truly 1:1 at the point of the cross-hair and has a linear distortion the further out you go (because of the parallax effect of the fov) if you have an aim style that relies primarily on wide flicks, the 1:1 sens might actually be a detriment.
