From what I've read and seen, dry fire is not a problem with center-fire calibers (9mm, .357, .45, etc.) However, rim-fire calibers, like .22, should not be dry-fired. With rim-fire, the firing pin will impact the edge of the chamber and risk damaging the firing pin. You can buy dummy rounds that would protect the firing pin, if you have a rim-fire firearm.
Every mechanical part will wear out on any machine, but if the gun is made well, it shouldn't hurt the firearm to draw fire. Thanks for being a part of our online community, and for being a subscriber!
Get a laser training cartridge like iTarget or G-Sight. You can use with your smart device or just aim at targets in home/garage and see where laser is hitting
Those are definitely a great way to train was well. Whatever get you over being scared of recoil. Thank you for watching! If you would like to see videos similar to this, please subscribe to our channel, and check out our website to find your next holster. aliengearholsters.com/
I'd be more inclined to purchase a replica airsoft firearm for "dryfiring". You get the identical weight, functionality, holster fit, etc. And unlike dryfiring a real firearm you can test your one shot draw with an actual projectile. Follow up shots would obviously not be the same because of the lower recoil on a gas blowback airsoft. Liku Tactical pretty much proved this method right, too.
There are some people who use air-soft exactly for that and it seems to work pretty well. This isn't our channel, but have you seen this video of an air-softer firing a real gun for the first time? ruclips.net/video/qQDfwyUgtjg/видео.html Thank you for watching! Thanks. Tabe 🇺🇸 2A 🇺🇸
any concerns with firing pin damage during dry fire?
On a striker fired semi it should not be a problem but I am no expert, Consult your gun MFR to be sure.
