    I'm just getting back into pottery and I've ALWAYS ended up with a volcano 🌋 so I don't cone. I had no idea it was because I flatten the top before coning. Thanks for that. Excellent video on centering.

    I just can’t thank you enough for this video. I’ve been throwing for just under a year and honestly it would just depend on the day whether I could center well or not. Using your technique has me centering every time with much less effort. You rule!

    This is such a wonderful tutorial, thank you so much for the time you have spent on this. My clay doesn't move with such ease. I feel like I really have to force it into the cone and gumdrop shape.

    Thanks for the video. Most of us use stoneware clay and you mostly use porcelain. I wonder whether you could demonstrate the differences in throwing techniques - I find porcelain difficult to throw with.

    Master Lin what clay are you using.. they gave me em100 it seem very hard to pull even with slippery hand. also even pushing with heal of hand. still very hard. i was told it should not take much effort .

    Helpful video! When you're bringing the clay back down and pushing down with your left hand, is your right hand just resting, or are you pushing at the finger tips?

    • @hsinchuen
      @hsinchuen  4 года назад +4

      The right finger tips are very powerful. Don’t waste the chance to guide your clay.

    Hi, Can you please help me with an estimate number of hours required to perfect centering. I have spent 11 hours and still struggling with centering.

    • @hsinchuen
      @hsinchuen  3 года назад +2

      My guess why you can’t center your clay: the clay is too stiff or not wedged well.

  • @jojokids1212

    if just focus on outer part then when I open the clay, inside is very turbulent, any idea how to fix?

    • @hsinchuen

      I am not quite sure what exactly is your issue?

    • @jojokids1212
      @jojokids1212 2 года назад

      @@hsinchuen When I open up, the top and mid portion is smooth and centered, but the bottom 1 inch I can feel the clay are not smooth like above, it feels like twisted and not smoothed. It is always the bottom 1 inch that gets me :/
