  • Created by Taffkirk Productions as a purely non profit fan spinoff from the TV series of Blake's 7. Set immediately after the events at the end of the series. Filmed mainly in Worthing 15 years ago, we have finally got round to editing it. It had a cast and crew combined of nearly 70 people and filming took nearly a year using HI-8 and SVHS. Sadly most of the film stock has degraded, but we will release it in webisode form. It also stars Peter Tuddenham as Zen and Orac and in person as a federation officer. This was his last appearance on a Blake's Seven related project.
    Written by Tim Pieraccini. Directed by Robert Lumsden. Created and Produced by Chris Kirk & Mark Jones. Filmed by Chris Kirk, David Clarke and Stephen Cranford. The copyright belongs to Terry Nation and the BBC. This is purely non profit for fan entertainment.
    Starring amongst others:
    Thorn Dacosta
    Nicola Rose
    Jay Howe
    Sally Longhurst
    Peter Tuddenham
    Sam Coccoza
    Please leave your comments good or bad and pass the word. Especially if you would like to see Webisode 2. If there is enough demand we may create a dedicated site for it....

    Sadly we cant sell it because it is copyright works, but we do intend to release it all online overt time and may then do a DVD quality version.

    Previously I have been involved in amateur drama and film groups. I know just how much work goes into even "fan"productions. Thankyou to ALL the people involved, from those who chipped in with their own grocery money, to those that built sets and costumes, acting talent and technical crew. A big Kiwi Thank you from a New Zealand, Blakes 7 fan. Note, I have a couple of hours worth of fan-made "song-vids", clips of video from the series put to music. I can't really upload to RUclips because of copyright but would like to archive properly and share. Made pre digital computer editing, just by pushing the pause key on VHS VCRs. The picture quality is not very good as mine are several generations copied, but they are I think quite rare, so many fan made songvids of the 70's are permanently lost

      I agree, almost brought tears to my eyes. I wish the BBC could still create good quality Sci-Fi. If i didn't think it would be ruined, i would love to see this remade.

      @@peterfmodel I'm shocked nobody's tried remaking this show yet. Beyond the short-lived audio version from a few years back, that is. The Big Finish revival stuff was/is wonderful though.

    Very well done!!! You can see the amount of work you have put into the programme and rather than rehashing old ideas, you've created a whole new set of characters that are believable in the universe that Blake's 7 is set in. Well done again.

    I discovered this just recently and being a fan of Blakes 7 as a kid, this brings very very fond memories, Just great what can be accomplished with a bit of love, and new technique. Thank you for the upload! Love the Liberator new style, does justice to the older one but looks far more slicker and advanced than the original.

  • @LauraSeabrook
    @LauraSeabrook 10 лет назад +6

    Have to admit, this plays just like a Blake's 7 story. A shame it's 15 years old.
    If ever there was a show that needed a "reboot" or continuation (if it was done correctly) it's THIS ONE!

    • @darania1
      @darania1 9 лет назад

      Laura Ess I agree. As Blakes 7 shares similar critical character & plot themes as Joss Whedons Firefly, who may have even been originally partly inspired by Blakes 7 & with the Dr Who reboot being hugely successful maybe the BBC should commission a new Blakes 7 series aptly reflecting the cultural changes of the 21st century.

    What a brilliant spin off. Really well tied in to the final episode, beautifully put together, tight editing and a good script. Really lovely to hear the wonderful Peter Tuddenham as well, lovely touch getting him to do the voices of Zen and Orac.
    I loved B7 back in the 70s and 80s and the ending is still shocking to watch, one of the most memorable series endings ever.
    Really looking forward to seeing where you go with this excellent spin off. Thanks for all your hard work, much appreciated by this B7 fan.

    Sensational effort. The idea that someone has put together a smaller version of the liberator from parts collected from it's demise, is an interesting idea. I never thought about bringing the Liberator back. The dominance of the female roles is great as well. Very Blakes 7 and an excellent effort. I hope a follow up webisode is in the pipeline.

    • @tjpieraccini
      @tjpieraccini 10 лет назад +1

      I'm glad you approve of the female roles - I confess I changed the gender of two characters from the original plotline, which was not mine. The Icarus is actually supposed to be another relic of the space battle from 'Spacefall' - obviously the script doesn't make that clear!

    It looked more like he was running into shot to report to his commander lol. I'm currently rewatching every key episode of Blakes 7 on RUclips & frankly appreciate it far more than I did when it's convoluted plot went over my head like the majestic Liberator as a schoolboy when it was first broadcast in 1978. Despite a miniscule budget & abandoned chalk quarries & power stations standing in for alien planets the show still overcomes its visual limitations & critically suspends the disbelief of the discerning SF fan & this key quality & respect for the original series is typically reflected in Blakes Legend. Good show :)

    Wow really impressed it felt like this could have been the next episode! Blake's 7 along with Doctor Who was my favourite show when I was a kid although I was only 7 when the final episode was screened I always remembered it vividly. The final episode in my opinion is one of the most memorable and shocking in British TV history along with Blackadder Goes Fourth also it was fantastic to hear Peter Tuddenham perform as Zen and Orac one last time R.I.P Peter

  • @xerravon
    @xerravon 5 лет назад +2

    Cool Orac replica!!! (Edit) actually, all the props are great, except the covering over Zen, but much better than I could do! and the size seems off but it may be 5" diameter as far as I know). Zen's lighting and voice are great!!
    I had a dog I named Orac back in the 90's. Here in the usa no one or very few watched Blake's, red dwarf or Dr who... I was one of the few, luckily the PBS (Public Broadcasting Stations) played this kind of stuff from England. It was the best!! Story over FX. Heck, even today there is rarely a SciFi movie or show who's story wasn't touched soon in Dr who...
    Come to think of it even my login name is kerravon with the k changed to x... Xerravon

    Very impressive, especially the scenes where you inserted one of your characters into the original show set. I've searched, but this is the only fanvid of Blake's 7 I've found.
    For myself, I was sure that the trooper-raid on Blake's base was a set-up by Blake as a loyalty test for the new recruit (who failed) and that the "troopers" were really disguised rebels armed with nonlethal guns. Anyone, if shot by a trooper, could still come back, but if shot by anyone else, is definitely dead.
