Thanks for joining us for a pint 🍻 It was great to chat to you about our Fetra metal fencing systems, Cammy!
Any time!
Man just make Iona laugh out loud every episode, every podcast. She's the one to watch.
Hi, there are different types of sheep country in Australia. we are as big as Scotland to Moscow and taking in the Mediterranean.
Love it guys ! Iona has such an infectious laugh 😂😂
My husband and I are dairy farmers in New Zealand and were looking into changing our 4 wheelers when you first tried the CF Moto and we liked what it could do so went to our local CF Moto dealer and have had ours now for a few years and its perfect for what we need.
We are on a small 95ha completely flat farm so it gets a pretty easy life.
Another great watch. Thank you. X
Fun and informative as always and love the very attractive mic holder you use for interviewing 😊👏👏
Thanks again! Lots of interesting information and a great laugh too. ❤
If you cannot hold a patent on pharmaceuticals then there will be no research. For each patented drug, there are few dozen drugs that were researched and never made it to market. All of this cost money. No patent means no research. Also these companies are not public entities, there are held by private investors who are there to make money. The alternative is to get public founded research and government owned drugs companies. Not saying the the poor pharmaceutical companies struggle to make ends meet but they are not pretending to charities either.
Good stuff team .NSA events are a great day out , a day to learn , to share knowledge and have a day of rest . It's really a great shop window for our sector and good for breed societies to focus on listening to the needs of farmers to produce top class commercial sheep. Metal fence is great but it's difficult at times to justify the investment, I feel that government agricultural schemes should focus on providing better grant aid especially in environmental schemes and it could be encouraged as promoting biosecurity .
I love Iona's laugh. 😊
Love seeing you kids laughing 😂❤😂❤😂
It's a pleasure as always!
As far as the fencing goes, it reminded me of what Tom Blackwood said about do it right and it'll work. The only problem is finding the financing for the startup costs. I guess you could do it bit by bit over time.
40 year guarantee on the metal posts sounds good and around 10 years longer than the posts I was looking at. But I'm still sceptical how long they would last in the western Isles, as long as the galvanising if thick and strong enough i to not scratch off when out into our stoney ground for the salty air to corrod the steel
For construction and fencing i sometimes use recycled plastic wood. Nothing to rot, can be driven, cemented. Warm to touch and easy to work. I first installed 15 years ago. The galvinised bolts will corrode but any damage to the post.
Great chat as always 🙂🙂
IONA AND CAMMY
It will be interesting to see how the metal fence will last on a road side when it's getting salt on it also cattle stretching over it to eat grass might bend them just my thoughts on it. But once again another interesting podcast
Agree 100%
We can’t add copper here. I don’t think it’s a breed thing it’s how much is available in the ground. Metal post are definitely a plus. 40 year warranty is impressive
Those steel posts will never take off
Interesting to listen to Michelle from Australia It is brutal farming or ranching in Australia A dairy farmer on the coast talked about how flooding cost him part of his herd Just heartbreaking work
are using startect on the farm i work on getting great results with that drench
Another great podcast. Love Ionas laugh
The truth is if they wernt patents it wouldnt be profitable for companies to develop anything new ,for every product on the market there will be at least 10 or more that didnt make the grade or had adverse side effects which costs a fortune cheers John
Work in human pop and one of the loveliest people in the world died because a drug company falsified research She wasn’t alone and several of my patients died as well but I can only speak for her. Horrible death ironically doctor wanted to put me on it she just wanted to watch it for a few more months Loved how well it worked at first but it killed the liver Lots of RICH lawyers because of human misery from greedy pharmaceutical company SORRY for tirade
I am very sorry to hear that and sorry for your loss , I wasnt championing the pharmacutical companies merely explaining the economics behind the need for patents .
@@Ex-pomjohn
Oh I know that and obviously companies need to make a profit however some of the obscene profits should not be allowed
Some of the weight loss drugs or rather diabetes drugs being used off label as weight loss drugs stop people with no options to use a drug that may be only marginally safer than doing nothing because the dieter’s demand out stretch supply and the diabetic loses out to the dieter with deep pockets
So much frustration with this subject because we get patients in the hospital because they can’t afford to live and buy medication NOW I have little sympathy for people who want the high life bling, latest gadget’s holidays and constant partying
But for the little guy working with a family paying health insurance
And can’t afford some of the ridiculous copays IT is wrong
Sorry for the soap box answer
I didn't realize you didn't have barberpole worms! They are truly a nightmare. Copper oxide boluses do help with them, although I'm not sure you can give sheep enough to be effective on barberpoles. Goats at least can tolerate (actually need) high levels of copper.
New sign looks great!
Thanks! It was made by Als Cousins - the other mastermind behind the podcast. You should check him out on social media!
What do you call a man who has lost his dog? Douglas 😂😂😂
Epic microphone holder😂😂😂
Thinking of finding a new random item every time!
“You do you Cammy “ !!
Garlic is in the onion family 😂
Hilarious 😂
The steel fence posts will last for a very vey long time.
I hope you’re still Cammy and Iona.❤
I like the new fed logo n green led , can I have the old one lol 😀😜
Here in the US, the NSA stands for National Security Agency. The super-secret guys who do spooky stuff.
I see you made an interesting use of the program for a microphone holder.. lol somebody needs to give you a handheld microphone holder for Christmas.
Love it. 😂 Funny & informative 👏🐑🌾🐄😁
❤❤❤
As a fencing contractor it is better value anyway you look at it 29:32
Garlic is a bulb, of the allium family and is considered a vegetable.
It just feels so different to regular veg!
Cammy you have it completely wrong with the “keep the sheep” movement. I expect you to do a correction in your next catch up.
It’s about the banning of live sheep exports from Australia, which mainly comes out of Western Australia. The majority of sheep in WA are merino’s for wool due to the the conditions in wa not being suited to producing fat lambs, can’t get them finished. The live export puts a floor in the market for wethers and other cull sheep. The flock is expected to drop by as much as 4million head as a result of this as the government has not allowed enough time for the industry to transition and set up feed lots and extra processing capacity at meat works to handle the sheep volumes. Only option will be to cart sheep across to the east coast of Australia. Worst of all the government has banned the export due to doing a deal with a niche animal liberation party for preference votes.
I can send you lots of info if you like. But would appreciate if you could explain it correctly 👍👍 keep at it guys 🤘
Oy Iona told a dad joke and Cammy I guess you told a Scottish joke😂
