- After a few days in Port Angeles, in the north part of the Olympic National Park, we headed to La Push - a small coastal town in the Western part of the park. Once we arrived, we enjoyed the First Beach just a few steps from our RV camping site. In the later afternoon we hiked along Rialto Beach, just north of our RV park. We hiked a few miles towards "Hole In The Wall". The weather gradually changed from cloudy to sunny so we could enjoy and photograph the many rock formation, sea birds and lots of driftwood.
On our second day, we drove east to the Hoh Rainforest. We left our RV site at 6am and arrived near the visitor center shortly after 7 am, where we barely found just a few available parking slots to park. It is indeed a popular area. We chose to hike a couple of the hiking trails: Hall of Mosses and Spruce Nature Trail, which we enjoyed very much. In the afternoon, we drove to Ruby Beach, one of the very well known beaches of the Pacific Northwest for its rock formations.
On the last day of our visit, we had heavy rainstorm which kept us in the RV for most of the day. In the late afternoon, however, the rain stops and the sun gradually came out, which meant it was time to hike from the road near our RV park to the Second Beach. It was a special hike through the heavy forest and the beach itself was so special at this time - for the combination of low sunlight hitting the rocks while still covered by some fog! Amazing photo opportunities...
