i totally get ur 'messy' vision for the book organization but i think you should turn most of your books around at least in the living room so when people come over they can like browse the shelfs and see the books cus i feel like that is such a good conversation starter especially when you love talking about books

I used to work at the Whole Foods coffee bar and that’s definitely the syrup brand they use! but I think you’re putting a little too much milk. Try adding a few ice cubes first, then the milk and last the espresso!

As someone who grew up going thru hurricanes, it’s making my laugh seeing yall just sit on the floor lol. My family would use an air mattress or get the couch cushions and make beds bc a hurricane usually means it’ll be a long night on the floor 😭
What was it like going through hurricanes? As someone who lives up north I don’t understand the scope of those😅🤍
@@lucyveenstra11 I barely remember the ones that hit pretty bad where I live (Charlie and Katrina) but I remember evacuating to a friends house a little further into the state. In high school all the hurricanes that hit ended up weakening a lot by the time they got to me but power did go out which was NOT fun. Mine was out for a week and the generator could only be used for so many things. Luckily we got school off which in my state we don’t get snow days so those are basically our school days. My family will sleep where there aren’t any windows, put cushions down to sleep on etc. honestly the worst part I can remember of recent hurricanes was the wind. I don’t get scared easily but I remember waking up in the middle of the night to scarily fast wind that can shake the windows in the house. I was scared a tree would fall lol. It floods pretty bad in some areas of the state but luckily not where I live.

That book display idea is literally my dream. I hate super organized color coded genre coded bookshelves. I LOVE the lived in soulful books everywhere look. So many people with new homes these days forget the most important ingredient in interior design, time and heart. You got them both! Well maybe not time but u know what I mean 😊
Steph says that being more organized soothes her mind... proceeds to decorate her bookshelves in a chaotic manner 🤣
If you put the syrup with the espresso in a cup first it tastes better because the syrup mixes into the hot espresso easier than with the cold milk!

if you want it to taste like a cafe do it this way:
pump the syrup into the cup first then brew the espresso over it
stir it to combine the syrup and espresso
pour a bit of milk just to cool down the espresso so ice doesn’t start melting immediately
fill with ice
pour rest of the milk

I wonder who started the trend of stacking books backwards. It makes no sense to me if you cannot pick out a book to read because the titles are not showing. So so strange and not really aesthetically pleasing to see this.
I like to do this with some of my books in certain parts of my room. It doesn't look as cluttered or "busy" with all the cover colours showing. So I guess I do this because for aesthetic purposes?? To each their own, right? 😉

As a person from Kansas, watching you sit in your kitchen hurt lol a bathroom would be a much better place to shelter! Take blankets and pillows with tons of blankets if you don’t have a designated shelter. I also have a ryobi battery generator to power stuff when the power goes out. Not saying this to criticize, just want to help you out ❤
