Irish Chinese Takeaway Cooked at Home

Are you just fed up of Chinese Takeaways outside Ireland not tasting the same?? Well so am I so i thoughts i'd recreate my favourite takeaway order from back home. Hopefully this brings you some comfort or you're just interested in seeing how us Irish have have our Chinese food.
My favourite order consists of
- Beef Curry
- Few scoops of a Spicebag
- Prawn Toast
- Egg Fried Rice
The ingredients for all of this is a long one but here it is …
*INGREDIENTS*
- 200g of long grain rice
- 1 whole egg
- 1 egg white
- soy sauce
- oil ( don’t use olive oil)
- MSG, Salt and Sugar
- One beef steak
- good quality curry powder
- black pepper
- Chinese five spice
- Tumeric
- coconut milk
- chilli powder
- 3-4 boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 200-300g of oven chips
- garlic cloves
- white pepper
- 200g of uncooked prawns
- sesame seeds
- 2 slices of white bread
- corn starch
- pepper
- chillies
- onions

I feel like the reason this is better than any of the takeouts I’ve had besides the one in Ireland is because it’s made with love. That’s what I feel is missing from a lot of these takeouts. I hope you enjoy making this or if you’re a fellow Irish one like myself it can bring you a little taste of home.

The ex and I went to visit friends in Belfast in the early 90's. They rarely cooked preferring to eat out or order in. After having perfect food every night for a week I commented to our host about the quality of the food being so good.
He said, this is Belfast mate, the restaurants have to make sure that everything is spot-on or they get a hand grenade rolled into their kitchen, or the chef gets dragged out back and his knees shot out.
Takeaways use bicarb to tenderise the beef I believe.

ok ive watches a fw of your videos , whats the story with using MSG all the time , ya dont need it
MSG is used in almost every takeaway. All MSG is, is a flavour enhancer that has been used in cooking for centuries. Using too much of it can be bad for you like using too much salt or spices can be. But all it does is make your food nicer and it’s why takeaways especially Asians ones
have that signature umami flavour.
