  • What better way is there to celebrate your birthday, than in the woods? In this video I set out solo for a few days on the beautiful Long Lake here in the Adirondacks, before being joined by my buddy Zeke for the last few nights. The Pike bite was not as hot as I originally hoped it would be, but we still got into a few nice Northerns and a slew of Large and Smallmouth Bass. Filmed September 2023.

    Another great video. Turning 70 this July, going first solo in spring. Afraid past canoe mates too old, too broken down or unfortunately passed away. Maybe I'll see you in the ADKs this year!

    33, wow your a young man living the dream! Good for you. I’m 53 and went the way of a desk job. I won’t say I regret it but I’m hell bent now I’m spending as much time as possible in the outdoors while my body still works. Here’s to ice out! Cheers!

    Happy Birthday!! We'll be on Long Lake in mid-July. How to contact you about guided fishing trip? I know what you mean about your birthday. I'm still 22 in my head, and it's scary to look in the mirror and see 66. If you like Nessmuk, you'll probably enjoy "An Adirondack Passage: The Cruise of the Canoe Sairy Gamp" by Christine Jerome. Thank you! If you are looking into a guided canoe trip with me, give Adirondack Mountain & Stream a call and talk to Jamie. He owns the outfitter I work for and can get the basic details down before we plan anything.

    Hey. I am a subscriber and this may sound like an odd question but did you used to travel up long lake in a canoe and power it with a little gas motor to take you up into raquette and cold river?

    • @DaxWoodsWanderer
      @DaxWoodsWanderer  5 месяцев назад +1

      No that is not me, never put a motor on my canoe before. Thanks for watching!

    Where do you park your cars when you are out on the lake for so many days?

    • @DaxWoodsWanderer
      @DaxWoodsWanderer  5 месяцев назад +1

      Stephanie and I actually live close enough that she can just drop me off and pick me up wherever the canoe takes me.
