Hey guys! Just checking in to let you know there might be some sections of this video later on where the audio gets a little rough, I think the GoPro was having trouble with some of the colder temps that moved in throughout the week. You also might notice the editing in this video is a little different than usual, I wanted to try out some better editing software, and it is taking some getting used to. This is my first video with the new program, so please let me know what you think! As always, thanks for watching, and I am looking forward to a great 2023 season!
I’ve enjoyed watching a few of these fishing trips, and have yet to see what lures you prefer, except you mention daredevils here and show a plug. Use a wire leader? Some instruction on how to use your electronics? In the 60s my family spent 8 summers visiting Pope Bay, east from that leanto, caught lots of pike, bass, and perch. Great presentation here.
Another great video. You've become my favorite ADK's youtuber. Was there anyone else camping on the lake when you were there? The wind can be a major factor canoe tripping. Experienced it many times. Your "meet up" canoe camping get together is a great idea. You might have to have a lottery system with all your viewers. Have a great 2023 season!
I appreciate your efforts in putting out the videos and sharing your phenomenally positive enthusiasm for fishing, canoeing, and camping. Keep up the great work.
Another great one, lil buddy! That was truly a hit and miss week you had. I'm on board with a big get-together! I'm not right very often, but I guess I hit the mark on calling a good bite one day, lol Peace out...
You are totally right, it is always a tough decision for me when that is happening. Sometimes I definitely get a little overly optimistic about their chance of survival, I just really hate taking a fish back to camp when I have so much food with me already, it almost feels wasteful, but of course the same can be said about leaving it to die.
Jay, another great video some beautiful fish. Im not very experienced at canoe camping but if possible I would love to have the opportunity to do that trip with you all.
Great video Jay, wind is one reason I like fishing out of my boat . Wind swept points are great to fish and you really can't do it right in a canoe. Plus my back won't let me st in a canoe for more than a couple of hours.
@dannywhitney, I'm 69 and also have a bad back. I picked up a combination seat and backrest that straps right to a canoe seat on Amazon. The backrest is adjustable for different angles and it has allowed me to keep paddling.
Great way to end the season Jay. Already looking forward to 2023 to see your adventures. If you have a good tackle shop you use or Amazon you can get a set of jaw spreders for $10 - $15. It's like having a 3rd hand to hold the mouth open.
You continue to be awesome, Jay. Please let us know if you do decide to do a trip with viewers. Love to meet you and possibly could draft my son as well. Keep up the good work, Jay. Well done, buddy.
Keep putting out the camping porn man, it lifts my spirit after the long winter. Were going to do old forge to lake saranac again in June this year. Hope we cross paths while were out there!
Hey Jay. Good stuff. I really liked the editing...so whatever new editing software your using keep at it. Damn that night 4 sunset and moonscape was magic.
Hey Jay. Look forward to all your videos. The best. Just curious as to where you buy your Whopper Ploppers and what sizes you recommend. Thanks bud. Keep up the awesome work.
It really depends on the time of year and temp of the water. For deep water I really like the Northland Tackle deep diving lures, for shallow water I really like a Mepps #5 Aglia. Thanks for watching man!
Enjoyed the video man. I'd love to see something get setup with you and the adk addicts. I'd definitely try to make it if possible. The AA crew is getting into canoe camping and this will be my first year trying it out. Makes so much sense merging my love for kayak fishing with my love for backpacking. It would be cool to do a youtube meet up. Let me know if you guys are interested 😊
Seems like you sure like the pike more than the Bass. Never caught Bass and I've caught tons of pike so I'm curious why you love the pike so much. Fight? Size?....cant be the smell LOL.
I honestly think my love of Northern Pike comes from my grandfather. We first started going up to the St Lawrence River to catch Pike when I was REAL young, and was just instantly hooked by their insane size, toothy mouths and the fight they put up that leaves the drag on your reel singing. Sorry for the late reply!
I use 2 Sixgill Halfling rods. Medium weight, but I am actually not sure what action I picked on them. I THINK they are both fast action, but one of them might be moderate

* Are you fishing barbless?
Good video, boy that get together sure would be fun. thanks for sharing.
Thanks for allowing us folks, to follow along. Your blogs are always so relaxing to watch. Nice job Jay and Stephanie. Have a safe 2023.
Another Awesome video my friend!! Great pike and the venison dinners looked awesome!
It is really hard to beat nights like that. Not too much longer and I will be right back at it.
Man I love all your videos. Keep it up
I appreciate it!

Great suggestion! I will definitely be putting out some more in depth videos on how I do things this year, so keep an eye out! Thanks for watching!
Hear that, folks! 👍🏼 Open season on questions from an experienced source. Let’s go!@@DaxWoodsWanderer
I’m about three hours away from that area as well, love getting up to the Adirondacks !

I really appreciate it Greg! I was the only person out there camping, fishing or otherwise, it was fantastic!
A bag of Stewarts wood! I live here in Upstate Ny...got a Stewart's on every corner!
Great trip and awesome fishing. Too bad we just missed each other on this one. That was also some nice pike juggling you did.
Lol the thing nearly slapped me in the face.
I appreciate your efforts in putting out the videos and sharing your phenomenally positive enthusiasm for fishing, canoeing, and camping. Keep up the great work.
Thank you Ken! I really appreciate it!
Gorgeous views, great pike, awesome cooking. So much good stuff in this one. Amazing week that was.
It was so much fun, even with all the wind and weather.
Another great one, lil buddy! That was truly a hit and miss week you had. I'm on board with a big get-together! I'm not right very often, but I guess I hit the mark on calling a good bite one day, lol Peace out...
You really did, that was so crazy that from start to finish it was just tons of Pike action throughout the day.
Another great one, looking forward to the next one with the snow (saw your Reddit post, ha). And would love a viewer camp out!
I will definitely keep you updated about the plans! Thanks for watching!
That northern at 16:20 was bleeding to death. Nothing wrong with keeping it and eating it.

I will definitely keep everyone updated on the plans!

I will, thanks David!
@@DaxWoodsWanderer you are welcome
Great solo outing man ! Awesome pike action. Can’t wait for canoe season man. Cheers !
Same! Its getting closer and closer though. Not too much longer.
Living the life!👍
I was afraid that the pike at 39:00 might take you with him. Glad you didn't go over.
I am surprised he did not tail slap me in the face!
Jay, another great video some beautiful fish. Im not very experienced at canoe camping but if possible I would love to have the opportunity to do that trip with you all.
I will definitely keep people updated about the meetup!

I just love being in my canoe so much, I don't know why, its just a totally primal feeling.

It really was a great ending on an already great season. I do actually have the jaw spreaders, just totally forgot to bring them with me!
You continue to be awesome, Jay. Please let us know if you do decide to do a trip with viewers. Love to meet you and possibly could draft my son as well. Keep up the good work, Jay. Well done, buddy.
Sorry for the late reply David, I will definitely keep you updated!

I appreciate it! Yea I cannot believe some of those sunrises and sunsets from that site. The rock makes viewing them perfect.
Hey Jay. Look forward to all your videos. The best. Just curious as to where you buy your Whopper Ploppers and what sizes you recommend. Thanks bud. Keep up the awesome work.
I use the Whopper Plopper 75 and 90 when going after Bass or Pike, usually just pick them up at Bass Pro. Thanks for watching David!
👍👍👍
What are your favorite pike lures in ADK? Do you target deep water or weed beds? Great videos!
It really depends on the time of year and temp of the water. For deep water I really like the Northland Tackle deep diving lures, for shallow water I really like a Mepps #5 Aglia. Thanks for watching man!

from one pike fisherman to another. get some mouth spreaders. i liked your video.
Awesome videos man! Mind telling me what brand rod holders you use?
Hey sorry for the late reply, I use Scotty Rod Holders and Coaming Gunnel Clamps to attach everything!
Every time I go canoe camping in st Regis area it’s too windy to paddle or fish!
I just dealt with the same thing while guiding there last week. Windows to fish in the morning and evening but windy all day.
quality video man, what paddle is that double sided with the build in tape measure?
nvm i found it... still a quality video
It's the Pelican Angler, I got it from Amazon.
Yo bro im 20 minutes from lake George ny, let's go fishing dude. Glen lake is also good fishing.
Let's make it happen!
😄
What is the length and action of your rods that you use for trolling? Thank you
I use 2 Sixgill Halfling rods. Medium weight, but I am actually not sure what action I picked on them. I THINK they are both fast action, but one of them might be moderate
The big pike are females. That was a she.
I thought so, just was not totally sure. Thanks for watching Charlie!
Love the group camp idea! I’m only 4 hr away just found ya on instagram
Awesome! Thank you!
