I’m actually beside myself at how dark this is. It’s really unsettling that it’s even an option, and the mental damage you do is such a gradual thing / there are SO many “outs” to make the run normal again.. crazy stuff. Eager to see the story develop from here.
@@Chiken Yeah I’m so excited to see how deltarune goes from here, I hope I don’t die before the next one lol. But actually a youtuber I do/did like did so it’s been kind of scaring me or just making me feel unsettle. But nonetheless I’m excited to see how deltarune continues.

Hi, a week late, but kris is also technically being used
He reluctantly does things and rips his soul out to make other dark fountains. Flavor text and animation details show that kris is possessed by the player

Kris is being used as a vessel while still being conscious unlike frisk(you can tell as kris will reluctantly do things you tell them to do or how they muttered noelle's name instead of calling her)

Actually, the run doesn't start until you reach Noelle. It doesn't matter what you do before that point, you can even do pacifist up until noelle
In a way it's like what we do with Noelle take them captive for our bidding/evil doing I truely wonder if the player is actually "G"

I don’t think so, I’ve come the route completely without killing anyone and it still didn’t work. I tried buying thr ring but he just did his usual text for the normal route.
@@Jynxxx5 I spared everyone before noelle and freezed everyone with noelle and got the snowgrave route. Itll work if you did different stuff at the beginning
You forgot to mention that you have to select the “Proceed” dialogue option directly before the Berdley fight. I had to do this several times because I didn’t realize I was picking the wrong dialogue option.
I wish I read this comment before starting the 2nd Berdly fight since I never got the snowgrave spell option because I chose the "I'm protecting her from you" dialogue option
I kinda knew bc this route is cruel, so I chose the more cruel option.

I've just gotten to the berdley fight (I'm playing on mobile), but for some reason the snowgrave spell costs 200 tp instead of 100 and i can't do it. Please anyone tell me how to solve this problem i beg you i need it.
On where things could possibly go with Berdly after this, there IS the little line of flavor text that still carries over from the normal route about the closet and how "A large person could easily fit inside."
...So, uh, yeah, what do you think of the chances that Kris getting everything from the computer room to bring to the School also involved stuffing Berdly's corpse in there? Add in how there's a festival the next day, and you've got the perfect setup for nobody even finding out where he went for quite a while, and even doubly so if Undertale's rules about monsters turning to dust sort of apply here.
Just imagine someone on a search team for Berdly checking in the closet and all they see is a pile of super old and dusty electronics...
We don't know if police can recognize monster dust in this world

If monsters turn to dust when they die in deltarune then Berdly would be dust already by the time the fountain was sealed. Either that or he would turn to dust in front of everyone's eyes because the fountain was keeping his body from dusting. So either he is dead and monsters don't dust in Deltarune or his body is alive but his mind isn't because his soul killed in the Cyber World leaving him braindead.

You know... I heard the term "snow grave" a few time, and I got a pretty good idea of what it was from the name alone. Well, I just finished pacifist and I was thinking about if I wanted to do this route, especially with the harder Spamton NEO fright I heard about... After seeing this video... yikes... And I thought Undertale genocide was bad!
Chapters going forward on Snow Grave are going to be hard... emotionally

Honestly, how this is going to continue is a bigger cliffhanger than the actual mainplot. In the transition from Ch1 to Ch2, Lancer just kinda convinced everyone to forgive the party for violence, but I don't see a similar thing happening here. Noelle is going to go through emotional turmoil over what she did and there is no logical way around it, except maybe medication and heavy therapy to literally make her forget.
This is a horribly upsetting thing to learn in such a well made and well produced video! Thank you, I'm gonna go cry myself to sleep now

This is a very good how to, your narration and voice are very clear.
Though there is a misconception in the video. As long as Noelle is not in your party (Cyber field and Queen's castle) your interactions with enemies don't matter. You can spare all you want and it won't ruin the Snowgrave route.

I still think killing everything might be important for future chapters - also, do you know if sparing anyone before Noelle changes the dialogue with Queen at the castle? That would theoretically make it so she has friends that show up with her, right?

I don't think that sparing/recruiting before Noelle appears would change the dialogue with Queen; as freezing them during Snowgrave would make them "lost". I know that after Noelle leaves the party, at the Queen's castle you can still recruit Tasq Manager and Mauswheel. But I don't know the effects of that yet.
Actually to amend this comment. I think that when you start the snowgrave route the recruit option at save points is greyed out?
@@Chiken Important note: in deltarune Fight =/= Kill. It's implied throughout the game, especially in this snowgrave route, that the player cannot kill enemies (they just run away). This reinforces the theme of "Your choices don't matter".
The only way this can happen is because the player finds a loophole, an oversight in the simulation, so to speak, a way to exert their will in a world where they have no freedom.
To quote Spamton
"YOU THINK MAKING [Frozen Chicken] WITH YOUR [Side Chick] IS GONNA LET YOU DRINK UP THAT [Sweet, Sweet] [Freedom Sauce]?"
I think the theme of Deltarune is going to be about taking back your freedom, and exerting your will in the world, be it for good or ill.
@@Chiken Okay, now that I have finished my Snowgrave run I found that the dialogue does change if you recruit Tasque Manager and Mauswheel.
The Queen, when you enter the castle world will ask about where Nubert is, before Trashy tells her that Nubert would only leave if you recruited everyone (I think that this is the same dialogue as a normal run if you failed to recruit everyone).
When you talk with the Queen on the 1st floor of the castle at the barred door. Instead of lamenting that there would be no-one to force into enjoying her "amazing room", she asks Ralsei how many breakable pots he has. Upon second interaction (I don't know if this is any different as I couldn't find a video where anyone talks to the Queen twice), she asks Kris to give Noelle her regards and the leftovers to Berdly.
TO THE PEOPLE WHO GOT STUCK ON GETTING THE FREEZE RING:
you have to go back to where Ralsei and Susie split up with you and freeze a monster there, there should be more monsters after you freeze that one, just keep freezing them. When you get back to the Addison he should give you the freeze ring dialogue straight away

If you unequip noelle's watch and put it on kris, noelle notices it when she storms out of the hospital room and ends up on the verge of losing it but susie comes in to ruin the moment
How do you take her watch is it coded as something else
I did it, i finished the run, and i absolutely hate it. I do not think i am mentally capable of finishing it, as much as i loved the challenging fight against Spamton, everything else just felt too awful. Toby wants people to regret their actions, he's got me down. And this is coming from someone who likes to write horror haha-

Is the spamton fight harder than pacifist? I was a bit dissapointed with the difficulty in pacifist
@@trevorlorah4992 Oh most certainly. I struggled a lot more with it at least. A very fun challenge imo, but what you have to do to get to it is heartbreaking haha
@@trevorlorah4992yes, his attack doesn't change, but in the pacifist battle, you have susie and ralsei, but here, you are all alone, and ALL of the damage is going into you instead of going into Ralsei or Susie

I havent really had the feeling I did from the genocide route in Undertale until this brought them back. The darkners even ran away from you and sweated in battle, and Noelle killing the Addison was so creepy! I love these games

After this, doesn't feel like a RPG, even for me in undertale meanwhile doing the genocide route I didnt feel anything (maybe a little), but I was feeling like playing an RPG, defeating your adversary and getting stronger for completing the mission of breaking the barrier and getting out of the overworld.

See, the run isn't quite this strict. You can do any battles however you want until you reach Noelle. Also, even then, the only real requirement of those battles is to make Ice Shock the attack which finishes each enemy off - Kris is thus free to help soften them up in preparation for being put on ice, or you can heal if need be.
I think there's also other common "requirements" that aren't actually requirements.

i tried to do snowgrave, it was everthing alright until no enemies appeared when i came back from the spamton shop and the option noelle will ride with me didnt show up, and now i cant do snowgrave
yea happened to me too. im pretty sure this means we have to delete our saves and go at it again.

when U first meet Noelle again when she hides from the Queen, save that and make multiple copies of the save, it's REALLY easy to mess up
Okay so right when u meet her, go back to the spamton area and try to kill ALL of the monsters, u need to go back and kill them when ure going back to the spamton shop place
then come back and do the wheel thing where u say "Noelle will ride with me" and then ask the guy for the freezering, he should give it to you :)

It's true that nowadays we all know most of these actions are unnecessary for a SnowGrave route playground but it's still funny to roleplay.
-You don't have to attack a single enemy before or after that specific area whit Noel.
-You don't have to interact whit Spamptons door or the Ferris wheel add or the poster in the alleyway.
I don't think you have to knock on spamton's door at the start. I didn't, and so far the run is the same as a normal snowgrave. I guess it's just an added interaction.

I hate to put multiple comments because that’s usually an attention thing or something but I want to say that I’ve seen some people wearing “noelle’s watch” I don’t actually know what item it is and all since I play on the Nintendo switch so I’ve just been watching streams and everything but basically the part where it cuts off before you can’t tell her instead of the lines “why was that voice so terrifying?” It says “kris.. why are you wearing my watch? When did you..” And then Susie interrupts

It's always so sad that the most people only play pacifist because...attachment to the characters? (while they play kirby and supe rmario where you wipe out random people or pokemon or such xD) hypocritic....
I think the genocide route are the real deep routes with a much more interesting storyline. LIke I find noelle pretty flat in pacifist. never liked her , not in chap 1 neither in chap 2 because it's the typical "super innocent shy girl "trope . Seeing her being manipulated made me like her, because here i see her real progression and strengh development when she does most of work and kills. I really hope we get option for more of these runs in future chapters and that noelle will actually start liking being the bad one and going total badass and berserk (maybe she ends up being the angel that brings mayhem from the legend thing?) I mean ralsei also starts to be sus xD and he also considered being innocent and cute and all...I hope we get this twist.
Literally all genocide is in undertale is is creepy stuff, 2 hard bosses, and farming.

Ralsei has actually always been sus if you play back to chapter 1 and observe his actions its like hes talking to the player some lines of his dialogue seems strange
i actually thought i did something wrong, i never was able to get the ring until i found out there is another side where the trash is.
I am interested to see if you continue chapter three with the snowgrave route what will happen. It seems like Berdly is dead or at least in a coma because he never got out of the dark world since he is frozen. So maybe you could visit berdly in hospital/graveyard and some flavour text will happen that would make you feel guilty, that would be cool.

Funny enough, deltarune and undertale are more similar than one would believe(other than the universes being so close).
In undertale, you make all the choices and your influence impacts the entirety of the story…
In Deltarune however, you don’t make all the choices, YET, you still have influence..
And by manipulating the choices of others in the story(mainly characters who don’t exist in the main premise of the game like the HEROS(Kris, Susie, and Ralsei), you can have effects that would resemble heavy set choices like Killing or Sparing in Undertale.
And Noelle, with the ability of choices since she; A: isn’t a hero, B: can be influenced by not kris, but YOUR choices, and C: has a spell strong enough to ACTUALLY kill… she is a perfect candidate to use as a pawn for the players use.
in a sense… you play the same part as in Undertale: The Influencer.
Attempt number three at the genocide run. Each time I have screwed up by not listening to the video. I will update when I either screw up again or win.

i accidentally failed pacifist i used noelle's frost attack on a maus instead of heal prayer
I have such an abnormal amount of empathy, the mention of killing the darkeners and the pink Addison made my adrenaline start pumping, let alone doing it
When i first did snowgrave, i was so sad for noelle, i called my save "SORRY", and told myself to never do the route again. Nowadays me and my cousin will ONLY do snowgrave (my cousin introduced me to deltarune, kudos to him)
i spent 6 hours on this just to realise i did it wrong. i hate my life.
all the key moments like noelle going insane were the same but i just didn’t kill all the monsters at the start
There's also a change in the dialogue with the Queen at the Dark Castle, wich is kind of... creepy
One question: What do I do in the first Annoying Mause puzzle? Do I do it myself or will Noelle offer to do it? Or do I have to frighten her with the mouse?
Maybe I was just more prepared for this one (loaded up on healing items before the fight) but I had an easier time with Spamton neo in snowgrave somehow. Luckily I somehow beat both versions of the fight on the first try, but the first time I fought him with the full party was much closer to the wire (pun intended). The second time wasn't much of a hassle. Anyone else have it go like that for them?

this tutorial is way too vague, instead of saying what you're supposed to do, you just say ''continue through the game''

You don’t have to kill everyone (before noelle is on your team), you can do a pacifist route, then end with a snowgrave

There is a difference in dialogue if you take her Silver Watch and wear it. It's optional but I want that version instead of make focus on your voice.
