I was fortunate to meet and chat with Anne Hed at NAHBS a few years back. I've always loved their ethos and products. What a beautiful and light wheelset.

Aluminum is NOT dead! It’s really nice to see a reputable company making a nice wide i25mm rim and taking the extra effort to add compliance with 24 spokes 2x lacing.

Watched this video after ordering a set :)
The section where JOM is trying to pump up the tubeless tires is while I've given up on that technology. Ben's rule: if it pops with a canister pump, go for it. Otherwise, go with tubes!

I was gonna say, I'd buy this demo set when they're done making the review rounds, but I see you already got to them!

Indeed, haha. Wait and see what I'm launching to the channel on June 3...

Looks? Love 'em. I'm thinking black bike, those wheels and polished spokes. Mmmm!
Digital caliper, 'bout time. Speaking of specs and hookless rims. Nothing wrong with hookless as it forces tyre manufacturers to lift their game for specific tyre sizing. Fitting tape to your rims tells me either the tyre is big in the seating size or the rims are smaller. I'm curious that someone has not made a gauge to measure rim diameter and hold them to account. This is where tight fitting tyres can be seen as a good fit despite grumbles from those who have trouble.
Keep up the good work Jom.

Ironically, I've had that digital caliper for about seven years... it was hidden until recently, d'oh!

just ordered them for my white Otso Waheela C with classic Ritchey cockpit and silver Wolf Tooth headset/seat collar. busted my budget but they will look great and ride better. the fact that you decided to keep your set is what sold me. i just hope i can save some cash and set them up TL myself.

Yo! I recently got a Waheela C and love it but want some 650b wheels to swap. These feel good on it? Thanks

seems strange seeing none black wheels in this day and age.
    work well with the x3.

I like your vids and need to watch more of them, just short on time at the moment. And while the stealth look is okay, I do prefer the look of brushed aluminum or nickle plating. Every bike deserves some bling. And are you gonna ride that big Unbound Gravel race? I'd be cool to see the action from somewhere in the pack as you ride and chronicle it.

Hi Robb, I've ridden the prior iteration of Unbound, aka Dirty Kanza, in the past. 3 x 200 mile finishes and 1 x 200 mile fail, I am in a good place. It would be cool to ride and chronicle this year, but my motivation is pretty low to ride that event at the moment.

@@GravelCyclist Thanks for your response and fair enough, just that it seems like ultimate fun from faraway, spending some night and all day battling dust and gravel and pesky competitors and laughing about it at the finish.

OK, when i blow up my DT Swiss wheelset on my ebike i am getting these puppies, reminds me of the old Mavic's i used to ride in the early 80's! Thanks for showcasing these JOM.

those rims are gleaming with the gum wall tires.

I replaced a rim last fall (when rims were hard to source due to Covid and demand) with a HED Belgium G 24 hole hedcycling.com/products/belgium-g-rims/ which appears to be the same rim as this set. It replaced a ROVAL SLX24 rear rim which was faulty and split at the spoke holes. Transferred the spokes (perfect length) with new nipples, trued and tension balanced. Decided to match it on the front. These rims will certainly increase the listed width of your tire. With approximately 700 miles on the rims they have been great.

i didn't know you could reuse spokes. hmm. have a set of QR rim brake Boyd Altamonts I have considered rebuilding as TA CLD my gravel wheels for my new rig but they'd need new bubs. at the moment hubs are still too hard to come by though and would be waiting equally long.

    • @awesomexistence

@@lillithbena1211, this was a low mileage wheel and at my weight and experienced riding style, I don’t tend to stress wheels. There was no wear at the spoke j-bend through the hub, so I determined the spokes to be good to go. If you do rebuild yours and reuse the spokes, you would have to source a hub with the same spoke hole flange diameter as your old hub. If I was a commercial wheelbuilder I would replace the spokes. Happy riding to you 😁
