Hunk has never been the main character in a Resident Evil game. but RE9 will introduce a new protagonist with Chris Redfield returning as a supporting role from RE8. This shift brings fresh dynamics while maintaining continuity with past characters.

I personally think the RE protagonist are becoming too “fantastical” like super heroes. Like I understand that Chris and Leon and Jill etc encountered zombies and mutants before but to have them all be super athletic zombie killing bad asses removes the grounded reality of “Joe schmo” with little to no experience is fighting for his life rather everyone getting a piece of “the HUNK” inside them and that’s why they kick ass
