I am glad I found this tutorial. It is great!! I searched for it because I am following the pattern in December 2020 Crochet World Magazine and though that there was a mistake. Actually it turns out that there are a few mistakes in Row 8 on the magazine. Wanted to let you know.
Hello I am making this beautiful ponchos and I am in the spot of doing rows 3-5 one time, however on row 62 was done on the back side but when I go to repeat 3-5 row 3 is done on the backside as well??? I'm not sure what to do I feel like I have done a good job following the pattern. Also when you 5 big diamonds I have more than that and as I watch you video to the point of you putting the poncho together it sure looks like you do as well? Thank you I am loving this beautiful pattern very much and look forward to continuing it.
Are you following the written pattern? The repeats are Rows 2-5, and Row 2 should have the front side facing. You should have more than 5 diamonds. The pattern alternates between 6 and 7 completed diamonds that are formed with the cables. If you have specific questions it would be much easier to discuss this using email so that photos can be viewed. My email is bonniebay@me.com should you have additional questions.

Hi Bonnie I was able to follow until following 2-13th row to have 5 diamonds. Then the 13th row has half double croches which is done on backside. You have instructed to follow 3-5th row repetition after 13th row where as 3rd row also has half double crochet which was supposed to be backside. Can you please clarify that we are going to have front side half double crochet on 62nd row?
Bonnie- absolutely love this stitch. Am loving how it works up. What would the multiple be if I wanted to do a larger project using it?? I’m thinking 12+2 for the starting chain???
I started with 7 panels but it goes to 6 is that correct love pulled it out and started over and it is still dropping one panel don't know what km doing wrong. Hope you read this. It's 2923 and l love thus pattern
This is a lovely design. However, I think you meant to say after repeating row 2 to 13 four more times you made a note of row 3 as 7:00 minutes to go back to when you probably meant more accurately to take the student back to row 2. You then said at the end of the row 2-13 repeat rows 3-5 one more time when I think you meant 2-5 as row 13 is an odd row working the backside it would not be right then to progress on to 3 which is also an odd row. This resulted in my missing a little of the cable. It wasn’t a problem as I repeated this mistake in the second panel. It may have caused confusion to some students. Having said that I love your tutorials and my collar fell outwards to make a rounded edging which looks really elegant. Thank you.😀
I think you should be fine with this one since it truly covers a variety of sizes. If you wanted to upsize you hook for a larger fit you can always do that. Definitely check your gauge and got for a slightly larger gauge. This will yield an overall larger fit.
Great question Mujer Boricua. It does fit a variety of sizes as is. I think you should be fine, but if you wish to upsize, you could simply go up one hook size.
That depends on how much bigger you wish to make this. As is it is suitable for a large range of sizes. You can upsize your hook for a larger gauge to upsize the garment.
On Row 8, the Crochet World magazine says fpdc for 3rd and 4th stitches (same for the 3rd to last and 4th to last stitches). On Row 8 in this video, you say fptr for those same stitches. Which is it?
@@laniguevarra1170 the issue is if you double the size, it will drape way past the length of the arms (width of poncho), and will drag too long with the points in the front and back. Beautiful .but if I don't want to use the firr what should I do??
Great question! I would work ribbing (fpdc, bpdc) around the collar instead.
One more question, what’s the difference between your lavena poncho and this pattern?
Is there a way to adjust the pattern so there aren't the holes in the cables where it lays on the body?
I don't think so since this is part of the design.
Good morning! I’m a plus size… do I need to adjust stitch count anywhere ? Thank you o:).
I think you should be fine with this one since it truly covers a variety of sizes. If you wanted to upsize you hook for a larger fit you can always do that. Definitely check your gauge and got for a slightly larger gauge. This will yield an overall larger fit.
Bonnie. I finished it however the bottom of the poncho does not line up. What did I do wrong? They are off a bit.
Hi My question is about the size for xxl, would this pattern fix a xxl woman? Thank you for your videos how to crochet here ☺️
Great question Mujer Boricua. It does fit a variety of sizes as is. I think you should be fine, but if you wish to upsize, you could simply go up one hook size.
I will make it حعمله ان شاء الله❤❤❤❤
If I want to make larger size how many St's should I have
That depends on how much bigger you wish to make this. As is it is suitable for a large range of sizes. You can upsize your hook for a larger gauge to upsize the garment.
