Can’t wait to see the video of the water buffalo hunt
I have best results with around 10 to 15 yards between my Garmin and the target.
The bow doesn’t actually have to be close for it to function.
I have shot over mine with the Garmin at 50 yards and target at 60. It is useful to know my bow speed and KE at different distances. I was thinking of making a video on it , just haven’t had the time. Great video Chris! Love my LIFT and my Garmin!
This was such a good idea for some great content! 😝
I didn’t know about the negative sight tapes from UV! So glad to hear that, I’ll be ordering.
On the website!
Cool to see talented athletes that are also skilled technicians.
Hi, as far as Australian Water Buff go, i have dropped them in the past with 60 lbs bows, and currently use a 70 solution which does the job well. Cheers
Those limbs were bending almost to the cables!!😅😅 Holy moly thats scary!
The garmin works awsome when you put it where it says in the instructions recommended
Great vid as usual. Excited to see the water buffalo hunt!
Love it! Push the limits man! Can neither confirm nor deny I wanna try it with my lift 33. I’m on tape 10 and I’d love to get up in the -5 range. That would be a killer antelope rig!
Very achievable to get -5
I use the back side of the rail to put my other sight tape for the fixed pin just above the level. So on the main side I have 20,30,40 and the back it starts at 60 with the level pin.
Good idea!
So will you be using your top pin as your roller or second fixed pin ? The way my dad did his ultra view 4 pin was he sighted in the scope housing to his fixed 30 yard pin and then sighted in the top at 20 yards and found his 60 with the top pin and made that his roller but you found 60 with the fixed pin if I understood correctly ?
@chrisbeereal You do not need to shoot directly over the garmin. They have a very wide view but the device needs at least 15’ to the target read. They operate by radar not light so it can be pitch black and read. It can read pretty slow it reads my orbeez gun lol
Thanks chris for pushing the limits.😁
It be cool to see you shoot those light arrows into some ballistic gell and then some regular arrows just to compare
Maybe we should try...
Okay so now you have to tell Mathews to start shipping bows that meets these exact specifications.
Hoyt z1s shooting 350 grain at 70lb 30 inch draw hits 338 ft per sec.
Hey great tinkering with that bow! Can you send me that arrow set up? So I can build them thanks in advance.
Another great video. I'll take that old chrono off your hands ✋️
X3 Vanes beereal 🤩🤩
I have a two part question I’m gonna start bow hunting public land are there any tips for that and also do you think a whisker biscuit or a drop down rest would be better
Mobile hunting, I would say a saddle, and drop away rest all the way
@@connor9852 agreed
That thing shoots with no arc at 60 that's crazy. And is it just a bit louder than normal
Nice👍
Where do you go to order your arrow’s? That’s safe and a good deal I’m looking at ordering of the victories ss series. I haven’t decided on where to order them. Yet
lancasterarchery.com/BEEREAL !!!!
@@ChrisBeeReal thanks bro ! and is there a sizing guide for the ultraview UB bottom ?
I know it says, medium and large but I’m not sure what size to get! I’m ordering one this week! Should I just call customer service?
Isn't the rip tko only slightly heavier but much stronger?
Little concerned that Chris’ “prototype UV slider” is gummed up after a year.
It was built with non production parts, there have been many in-line changes since making it, they are like butter now
Mount it on the stabilizer?
Maybe!
Should have shot through the old chrono to compare the speed to the new Garmin.
We did off camera and they were only 1FPS off. Garmin is just way more convenient.
410 out my Pse full throttle that I custom built using speed pro max arrows and different cams.
What the IBO speed. What's the lbs, and what's the arrow weight?
340, wow almost as fast as a 2008 PSE xforce. Mathews will make a fast bow oneday
A man with two watches never really knows what time it is.
Been wanting to run this by you for a while now…. Why do you look at the top cam when you draw back? Lol
Habit
Chris please do a collab with kendall gray
Place the garmin 5-15" away from bow.
Chris: I will completely disregard the instructions.
We all know Chris is smarter than those Garmin engineers 🤣
@@lucasgrimm8444 He was well within that range on the first shots. I don't own the garmin but it appears he figured it out.
Garmin recommends to shoot 5-15" above the device. Rewatch the video and then apologize for the dumb comment. 😁
I shoot a Pse xpedite 440 grain arrow 83 pounds at 343 fps
Let's go! 🏹
It needs to be further away from the target.
Edit: I should have waited just a bit longer before commenting… 🤣
Idk if I like this over the old style. It's finicky. Needs updated a bit
U can send me ur old chrono.
Constructive Feedback: I've seen many of your videos with wonky audio, either too much to the left or to the right, that mic needs to be changed
We had some water damage and have finally retired our one mic.
I am guessing you are aware that the tape bars on the UVSlider can be moved up or down by loosening their screws? You don’t have to pull the setup tape off of the tape bar to adjust it!
Yes, it's a touch faster to just apply it in correct location and I don't have much patience.
27:00 "It's probably extremely high kinetic energy... because of how fast we're shooting."
That's NOT how it works. Either this guy is ignorant, or he's just spewing nonsense to impress those who don't understand the details.
Troy isn’t gonna let you hit bro.
Bro, stop being a hater. Speed is absolutely related to KE. KE is in fact energy in motion and moving faster means more of it.
Just by raising his speed from 336fps to 341fps the KE went from 87.8 ft/lbs to 90.6 ft/lbs.
Is there more to it, yes. But he’s not spewing nonsense.
But you keep trolling, hiding behind your keyboard.
That's fast buy still not APA fast
80lb bow just to get ibo speeds lol
That’s what IBO is tested at tho isn’t it? 80lb and a 400 grain arrow? If you read the comment on the last video an old engineer explained that companies will run no fletching, no peep sight, no string dampers and off a machine a HEAP of times and give their sales team the single highest reading. His setup runs IBO speed consistently with a ‘normal’ arrow? But if a difference.
@@MarkValascun Ibo is 5 grains per pound of draw weight, 31" draw, bare shaft and no string accessories. His arrows were only 351 grains on an 80lb bow, well under 5 grains per pound. I understand Ibo speeds are somewhat unrealistic but I get 320 fps (10 under Ibo) on my bow with 70lb, 30" draw, and 356 grain arrows. Some bows are much closer to their advertised Ibo speed than others
Yeah… (i thought IBO is 30” draw?) Chis’s draw length is NOWHERE NEAR IBO, he still has a peep, d loop and string dampeners and he’s reaching IBO speed. If he had a 30” draw and no string accessories I recon he’d be up well above IBO. And as for your situation, go to an arrow speed calculator and put in the 30 or so grains for your peep, loop and string dampers and I bet you get 320 fps. Even before mentioning I’ve seen somewhere that dyed strings are SLIGHTLY heavier than traditional black or white strings. Not sure how true that is but if true, could be a factor in Chris’s situation.
@@josephporfido2433infact, I just threw in your specs into a speed calculator. 330fps IBO, 30” draw, 356 grain arrow and assumed 25 grains of string accessories puts you at 320.7fps. So you IBO is dead smack right. If you shot barestring and a 6 grain lighter arrow you would LITERALLY GET 330fps. So your bow manufacturer was 100% correct with their IBO rating. Most bow manufacturers are pretty good with their IBO’s.
Guy on AT had complete pass through on a water buffalo with the XV’s n fixed head.
The garmin works off radar waves rather than light gates like the old one, the waves come through the back plate like an invisible flashlight and, whilst its more like a flashlight with throw rather than like a pinpoint laser beam, having the projectile pass through the centre of the beam will help it to pick up the arrow. Because the beam is projected out the back of the device it needs space to "see" the arrow in flight in order to calculate how fast its moving so having it just off to the side or under where youre shooting with a decent space before the target will help it get the best detection. Most of the firearms guys Ive seen using it have it a meter or 2 off to the side pointed at the target so that it doesnt get caught by the muzzle blast.
Definitely would give an advantage to antelope hunting. Would love to see you take this on an antelope hunt.
Ultraview needs to make glow in the dark sight tape!
Made Saturday morning better
Hi Chris there is a bow hunter in Australia that uses a 60lb bow he has no trouble killing Buffalo with his bow.
Why not use 200 gr arrows? You could exceed 400 fps and massively reduce misses from yardage error.
Industry standards are 5g/lb for equipment safety and warranty. Under that can resemble closely to dry firing and damage over time
@@dustinwaldron2010 Exactly. What Chris is doing here is the equivalent of shooting rifle cartridges that exceed recommended chamber pressure. That's fine if you're only risking your own well being, but this dude is pandering to the masses here, some of whom will unwittingly follow his lead into limb failure or worse.
@@Johnbobon It was done for entertainment value. He even had a long disclaimer at the video start. Proceed at your own risk.
First! Your videos are amazing Chris, I can’t wait to watch the TAC videos coming soon!
Mad respect for pushing the limits 🫡 I’m doing the same just in the other direction. Trying to shoot as heavy an arrow as possible. Right now I’m set to shoot a 2,850 grain arrow 😮 keep rockin🤘
Bro how. In trying to build and it's hard to get over 1500
@@josephporfido2433 I’m sure there’s other ways but I’ve been using the black Eagle back weight system. They have a long Allen wrench you can use to stack variable weights. They have 30, 50 and 75 grain options.
Are you shooting an Abrams?
Didn't PSE hit somewhere around 370 back in 2008 😅
Hey Chris I have a huge question! I'm wanting the uv slider single pin for the v3. What all do I need? Thanks
Well I already knew this but glad to see I was right only way you're getting ibo speed on a matthews is shooting 80lb with a 350 grain arrow 😂
It's a Doppler chrono... So think Labradar, but mini...
loving the video
Great detail in the video goat…I wondered if you would respond to the few that got all bent about the arrow weight …lol…most knew you know the bow itself and what it can do beyond manufacturing recommendations….sure liked the open box from Lancaster…wondered about that cono….great arrow build and detailed results from the bow itself…can’t wait to see it preform on the TAC course…great video to the camera person and you…😊
You can’t go wrong with either PSE or Elite = Shot ability good luck
Awesome video as always. Will you consider doing a video comparing past Mathews bows (like the Halon and Triax and newer) to show how much better the bows are now, and how their dual cam bows and cross centric cam system have progressed?
I can do that!
What draw weight scale are you using?
When is the video about the shot sense in the grip of the bow coming out ?
Soon!
Love you videos you’re the reason I’m getting into archery with a lift
Good luck!
Works by space magic, or dopler radar or something. I run mine about 20" in front, and 10" bellow and never have a problem.
Chris now try making a heavy arrow like 800 grains+
Hello Chris, I shoot bohning vanes which vanes do you shot for tac. My bow is an Atlas 75# 33” mods, full shafts 250/32” Easton 6.5 currently running blazer want to switch to 2.25 x3. Thank you
Hi, Chris that is some amazing shooting, when you said that your bow is the "fastest production bow" are you forgetting about the "Full Throttle" bow from PSE ? I have seen numbers from it past 341 fps. When it comes to fast bows there is always someone a little faster. That bow of yours though sure does seem to do it all, very well.
I know it's faster on camera to use a handheld scale, but people know they aren't accurate right? It's a "close enough" measurement because the force that you use to pull it back adds to the actual resistance measurement. You should really test draw weight in a draw board with a proper scale (e.g. LCA Bow Scale 3.0) to determine the true draw weight of a bow.
I ghetto estimated my bow speed by shooting a known distance and dividing it by the flight duration by “timing” it with my phone audio recorder. I sure would love to use a chronograph for confirmation though. :)
So Chris, you said you were putting that chronograph into retirement. What would you say about sending it to a long time subscriber, me, if I paid you for shipping???😉😉😉
oh man! ur going to love aus! waterbuf is a fun hunt man, who you going to have take you around? if you wanna come to sydney to hunt goats while you’re here i have a block that’s over run with them and can deffs get u onto something. it’s steep country but a ton of fun!
I sit mine on the tailgate of my truck and point it at a target at 20 yards and shoot from beside it. Reads the same as my old shoot through one. Also use it for checking speeds for my 22lr and 6mm dasher competition rifles. Works great because so small to pack to the range.
I’ll take your “retired” chronograph. Lol. I’ll pay ya for it and for shipping.
Keep the videos coming.. Tac vermont today..let's goooo..
Dead stop 20 and metal tapes for UV Slider?????
Xbow guys would be in trouble shooting you for money. Raven & 10 point guys might get their wallets emptied by you.
adjusting draw wright from the cam-end of the cables will cause it to lose poundage. Adjust it from the twists on the open ended loop that feeds through the plastic puck
KE is determined by the draw weight of the bow, double the arrow mass and the KE will be within 3-5 ft/lbs.
The radar comes out the back so it needs consistent speed to get a reading. If the arrow suddenly stops in the target it can't get a good reading
i just had a question on the bonus pin in the uv slider how does it work? i tried centering the pin in my peep sight and it didn't work
If you shoot long draw u get faster arrow speed than short draw speed slower arrow speed.
I would love to see a slow motion shot of that arrow at night with a lighted nock going out to max yardage!
Hey mate,,, looking forward to seeing your trip here down under - good luck
The garmin works even if you just have someone hold it right next to the riser.
Should have just got an obsession mag 360 :)
I wish I could pull back 80lbs
do the beereal grips only work on mathews
Who is going to the tac August 2 through the 4 in Michigan
Are you going to be at the TAC shoot next weekend ?
We will be at MI and SD!
Are you shooting any 3d this year
Great video, Chris.
the 5 grains per pound has a lot of buffer in it.
That's super cool! I wonder if you could calculate the FPE?
Yes, with an IBO speed calculator, it's on Google
Absolutely hilarious people freak out about something they dont actually know about.. Ive been shooting sub 4grains per pound for a long time with zero issue.. 300 grain arrow with 82lb setup 30.5" draw and 370+FPS
Are you lying? There's no way I'm not calling you a liar, but I'm finding this hard to believe
Up until recently 5 grains per pound was a rule bc the bows where not transferring all the energy into the arrows so it was stressing the limbs to much
Yes!!!! The new Chrono😜🙏🏼
Love the video Chris
Ok n now that I was finally able to get to the end Dan, I appreciate it. I will watch your video here in a minute for the phase four one. I'm hoping I can try and win the phase four. Like I said, I'd be happy with anything or nothing. I'm happy with you just giving us what you give us. I've learned a lot from you. Thank you Dan
Wrong video man, good luck on winning that bow tho
Bow is on fire
I have noticed that the Garmin reads a bit slower than your old Pro Chrono. I've seen 3-5 fps on average. Not a big deal, just something I've seen in every review of the Garmin.
The Garmin Xero C1 Pro is one of the most accurate chronographs out there. You can already tell by the fact, that it reads in .1 FPS and is using the Doppler Radar Technology. The old camera based ones are just pretty inaccurate compared to it.
250s will definitely clear up some of that arrow flight cause you can see them struggling a lil bit (not saying clean flight is necessarily better for the target archers in here😂)
It was extremely windy that day, that is mostly what you are seeing.
Hoping to see you at tac in Michigan! 👍
We will have a booth!
