wow well this proves there are still loads of older machines out there if you know where to find them. once got 48 k6-2 systems from a school, that was a fun loading job lol. good score on the model 30. I have a complete model 30 286 with it's external 5.25 drive. this also proves that vintage collecting is a young man's game these days. such a load would kill me for a week, provided I had the energy to move even 10 of those systems.

Wow, what an incredible haul, over the course of a few weeks last year I was able to pickup 5x IBM 300GL's, 4x HP Vectra VL400DT's, 7x biege box P3/SS7 systems and 5x CRT's and 3x S7 Packard Bells and 2x Slot1 Packard Bells and that was the best 3-4 weeks I've ever had in my retro PC journey but what you have there is literally years of work ahead of you(and fun tbh), I'm still restoring those I got last year even now and my loft storage room is still full, I sell them but I don't really make money as such compared to the time spent on them but it's a fantastically fun hobby and all these years later I'm still learning.
Nice! There are a few Vectras in this haul. I have a Vectra VA powered by a Pentium Pro in my personal collection, which I acquired about 5 years ago. It will make a cameo on the channel when I do the video on Vectras. I do wish there were more IBM systems here, but the PS/2 is very special to me.

Wow what a score. I love old computers and have a few myself. I have been building computers since 1995. I am not a bleeding edge guy, I have seen the fads come and go. I mostly play around with the 4th gen Intel 1150 socket motherboards as they maxed out at 3.60 GHz. We measure computers speed by GHz, chip manufactures have hit the wall with GHz. Any frequency above that starts to go into the military range and so chip manufacturers add more cores ... 4th gen CPU is the sweet spot. Good computer that will still run modern programs.
Came to comment about The Snakes of Narcisse in Manitoba advertisement on the U-Haul. I have never been, but as a Manitoban a few hours away from it, have heard about it many times. Nice vintage haul you have there! I had a PS/1 given to my from my high school. Wasn’t too familiar with that era of PC’s and ended up recycling it when I could t get it to work. 🤷🏻♂️ Looking forward to the content that will be coming from these machines!
Making the requisite "haul" nostalgia post: I had one of those Compaq's with the built-in speakers. It was the first computer that was "mine" (Xmas '97/98?). Pentium 2 266mhz, 32(?)mb ram, 6.4gb bigfoot hdd, DVD-rom. Thousands of hours clocked on that bad boy.
Great find. Previously went to about 50+ yard sales every weekend and usually get a few computers for about $1 each. The problem is eventually you figure out you don't need that many computers and rather have empty space. For the last few weeks been taking apart many of the PCs for the drives, memory, cpu, video cards for spare parts and just take the heavy cases to recycle. Breathe better these days.
What a score! I can't stop thinking about how much trouble I would be in if I came home with a spontanious U-Haul filled with 200 computers. I would probably have to use them to build a new home because I would be on the street.
That’s an amazing haul. I believe I saw a post on Reddit of someone contemplating buying this lot and when I saw it I knew it would be a banger deal. Looks like a ton of fun although I wouldn’t have fun moving them around.
Wow, what a haul! Might have been a 7-hour drive but some nice goodies in there. A friend of mine had one like that "newer" presario, I remember good times playing games on it. Pretty sure one of those ATs was my first computer with a pentium! Oh and your excitement is adorable. 🤗

I love buying, building and selling systems. New and old.

The imac behind you is my favorite! I spent countless hours on one of those working with an electron microscope and scanning negatives from an older film based scope that we had on campus. I really wish I had the space for one!
Wow, you've reached the hoarder level I have after nearly a decade in one go! I don't have any of the coolest stuff in there (SGI, PS/2...) though, my junk is mostly PIII onwards except for a Toshiba Libretto, a Dell 486 laptop, and not much more, so mostly stuff of little worth (but which I somehow like nonetheless).
wow man Im so happy for you what a score! Ive always been impressed with how quickly you can get computer hardware. Keeps me motivated. It took me a couple years to get 4 systems together at reasonable prices. My last score was my first 486. Came with ram, cpu and a Orchid 1903 VLB video card for 25 bucks! Still trying to find a case for it, the hunt continues!
Thanks! That's a nice find there! What brand CPU does it have? This lot was definitely an unusual circumstance for me, but they're definitely out there!
@@miketech1024 the 486 era of computing is still relatively new to me but I believe it's an Intel 486 dx 33mhz model is sx729. And the video card is an Orchid Fahrenheit 1280 plus. I'm thinking my my first upgrade will likely be the Intel 486 dx2 66 mhz if I can find one cheap enough. I also need to find an AT style case. The guy I bought it from seemed pretty cool. Seems like a lot of the people in this hobby are. We talked for almost an hour about old computers and stuff. Best 25 bucks I've spend in awhile.
Lol. I was just thinking you had enough content for awhile, then you said the same thing. Good luck! I noticed there were some Compaq Presarios in your pile. The ones with the semi-clear smoked faces. The 100W power supplies in them suffer from bulging capacitors.
Wow. I started to learn how computers work with machines like that in the early 2000s when I was in my teens. Only back then they were called old junk instead of vintage PCs. Built some good DOS and Windows gaming machines out of them and had a lot of fun getting stuff to work.
Those 15" iMac G4 machines are seriously underrated. Yes they run some of the first versions of OS X but they will boot Mac OS 9 natively as well, even in dual boot configuration. They're not even that bad to work on either. I upgraded the harddisk, ram and put in a air port card in mine without an issue. Sadly Mac OS9 only supports WEP for WiFi. USB ports means you can use any keyboard and mouse with it as well and the powersupply is built in using a standard glover leaf cable.
@@miketech1024 Forgot to say, they have half size 1/2 AA Lithium LS 14250 3.6V battery. You'll probably want to replace that sooner than later to avoid them leaking and keeping it's settings.
I actually had a few of those! LOL... Man, I wish I knew what I had back in the day. I was like all those you got and just tossed em out. Never even thought how expensive they would be as years went by.... LOL
@@miketech1024 Yeah, I think that was our mindset back in the day. It would cost about as much to repair it? As it would to just simply buy a new one. Which is why we just tossed them out as we did. Now with Amazon and other retailers, We still see as you said similar issues as parts are hard to find and expensive. lol
Amazing haul Mike! I can understand why you were shaking, I would be too. Even the thought of buying these and having to get them all home safely makes me so anxious. Hope you enjoy sorting through it all and don't get too overwhelmed. I'm looking forward to all the videos. And Happy Birthday!... What a great birthday present you've given yourself!!

I’d be so sore from moving all those, luckily you’ve got no shortage of 💪🏼
Wow, you've reached the hoarder level I have after nearly a decade in one go! I don't have any of the coolest stuff in there (SGI, PS/2...) though, my junk is mostly PIII onwards except for a Toshiba Libretto, a Dell 486 laptop, and not much more, so mostly stuff of little worth (but which I somehow like nonetheless).
I’m expecting the A&E film crew to show up any day now…
Lots of stuff to explore!!! Looking forward to future videos!!! Great job!!!
wow man Im so happy for you what a score!
Buddy just bought 2-3 years worth of content right there! Well done and can't wait to see the results
Awesome stuff! Love the style of ur videos.
Thanks!
Lol, we know the feeling. You got yourself a small treasure right there. Enjoy
Great Mac!
Just say it all in one comment dude, not several.
I saw that lot on Facebook. I'm glad it went to a fellow enthusiast!
That machine is a work of art! I can’t wait to give it the love it deserves. Thanks for the info!
@@miketech1024 Forgot to say, they have half size 1/2 AA Lithium LS 14250 3.6V battery. You'll probably want to replace that sooner than later to avoid them leaking and keeping it's settings.
You have a new sub from Argentina, amazing found and can't wait to see more!
I actually had a few of those! LOL... Man, I wish I knew what I had back in the day. I was like all those you got and just tossed em out. Never even thought how expensive they would be as years went by.... LOL
You and me both! I had several IBM 5150s and XTs with the EGA 5154 monitors... Now they're selling for almost $1000 for just the monitor...
@@miketech1024 Yeah, I think that was our mindset back in the day. It would cost about as much to repair it? As it would to just simply buy a new one. Which is why we just tossed them out as we did. Now with Amazon and other retailers, We still see as you said similar issues as parts are hard to find and expensive. lol
Honestly, this looks like heaven. I’m so envious.
Also, we have the same Apple Watch strap and watch face combo 🏳️🌈
Amazing haul Mike! I can understand why you were shaking, I would be too. Even the thought of buying these and having to get them all home safely makes me so anxious.
Hope you enjoy sorting through it all and don't get too overwhelmed. I'm looking forward to all the videos.
And Happy Birthday!... What a great birthday present you've given yourself!!
Thanks so much! I was some strange combination of excited and anxious. Just the thought of driving that U-Haul on the interstate definitely increased my heart rate average!
@@miketech1024 I bet. And yeah, totally get the mixed excited/anxious feeling. I'd be exactly the same.
