@@Jaxvidstar True. But this is more than just that. This is also about Geld's own personal conflict. He feels guilt for the pain and suffering his people caused. It occurred in both the LN and WN that Geld refuses to become a demon lord due to fearing becoming his father and feeling he doesn’t deserve power on the level of a demon lord. Rimuru eventually convinced him to accept the transformation not to be granted higher offensive power, but the ability to protect, and when he does eventually go through with it, his defensive skills go through the roof, giving him the ability to defend all of Tempest with his subordinates by actually granting everyone below him ultimate skill class defensive strength

Clayman revenge reveal why. There was a portal from the underworld near the orc village. Giant ants ravage the orc village, leading to poverty and famine. Leading to the orc march to jura forest for survival. Clayman knew about this, just didn’t care to do anything about it. Since it was in carrion territory, carrion didn’t know about this.
It was Clayman's fault as he made the land of the Orcs barren (as mentioned in season 2) causing their famine. If I remember didn't it say that Hiiro briefly worked under Clayman, so the guilt of the ogre's destruction should rest more on him than Geld Jr. (I like to refer to him as Jr., since he was named after his father to help restore the name's honor).
Geld was ready to lay down his life to atone for what the Orc Disaster did with 0 hesitation. Man's gotta learn that the survivors of the ogre clan forgave him and want to live in peace with him. Geld a real homie.
He also gotta remember that Rimuru chose to take on the sins of the Orcs, meaning anyone who has beef with the Orcs over what they did has to take it up with Rimuru.
that scene make me cry man, despite everything he has done, and the others help, Geld never forgive himself and don't plan to even try forgiving himself.
Geld is one of my favorite characters of the TenSura series. The guy is willing to fight to the bitter end for what he thinks is right and will do anything for Rimuru, but the fact that he is the son of the Orc Disaster Geld that wrought devestation to the Forest of Jura still weighs heavily on his heart. He still has the thought that as the next leader of the Orcs, its his burdern to bear the brunt of all the hatred brought by his father and their march of war.
Even if he IS Benimaru's brother, how the Hell was this guy able to keep up with Geld? At this point in the story Geld had a pretty powerful defense as well as his scale shields being stored in his inner storage space, plus he had Rimiru's blessing so not just any monster off the street would be able to pick a fight with the big hog, much less put up a decent one.
he was a named monster by someone who had parts of the power of a primordial and geld held back cause he understands rimuru doesnt want to hurt anyone if geld was serious and summoned full armor (if you watch geld didnt use any skills at all and never went on the offensive pretty much just blocked blows) and all he would absolutely body hiiro that plus once geld realized hiiro was here to avenge the ogres out of guilt he was ready to die

So geld should be around clayman . If author stated that hiro would've won even if geld were to use his full strenght means hiro is as strong as clayman which is not the case . Which means the geld vs hiro scene / writing was for the sole purpose of making benimaru's entry meaningful and grand .
Let’s be honest. Geld would of bodied him if he really wanted to. Once Geld recognized Hiiro’s horn at 0:23 he stopped attacking all together and only focused on dodging and deflecting for the rest of the fight because of guilt.
Geld was holding his own without even trying. He didn't summon his armor or use any special attacks at all. Geld would have won easily if he wanted too. He was just going to let himself get killed because of pure guilt.
