I think is funny but slightly annoying as it leads to season 2 is how he keeps beating all these large powerhouses but his friends keep doubting him I get that they want to protect him and that's fine and this is still one of my favorite scenes I love it when people underestimate him as a slime I would meet all of my villains as slime so they would underestimate me
@@soonamisapphire2425 they aren't underestimating him, they're wanting to prove to him and themselves that they are capable of taking care of themselves, that they aren't leeches, completely reliant on him. That, and they would rather one of them die that risk him taking any harm.

I'm not sure Carrion told them why they were trying to make an alliance. Also, Youm's group doesn't know how Rimuru defeated Geld, only that he did and didn't want to take credit for it. So, this is a first time for most of them. Souei's first job is to protect Rimuru, not encourage what others would believe to be dangerous.

I really enjoy the fact that Rimuru spends most of his time obfuscating both his and his nation's true strength because he doesn't want people to panic and try to squash them. He doesn't want to abuse his strength to amass power, he just wants a quiet life in a quiet town that can provide food, clothing, and shelter.
They have their own Demon Lord, so they probably are pretty close to equals.
@Kiers M Both Karrion and Rimuru have Proclaimed Demon Lord level of strength right here.
Once Rimuru enters the Harvest Festival then he massively outclass Karrion because he became a True Demon Lord.
Karrion would likely beat Rimuru here if he went SSJ4 at the start.
Even Milim felt a little numb in her hand from his Roar attack in her Battle Mode, so it really shows the strength difference.

Think of it as pure brute force; absolutely useless in a real battle and it would completely leave her spent but the raw force behind it is serious.

When it comes to an anime about a town and its OP hero you really need to build the world around it to really feel alive and lived in. The more characters they introduce and put effort into the larger and more complex the world feels.

Suphia arriving and insulting Rimuru head on, Shion loosing her cool and producing a bomb that would literally obliterate everything in that area (i read somewhere that its confirmed that that bomb would have destroyed everything and everyone in an around 5km radius) Suphia getting scared for her life and then Rimuru casually absorbing it.
Its such a massive underhanded flex and you can see the fear and disbelief in the beastkeeters eyes when they realize that the insults in the beginning could have meant their death if rimuru took them to heart and that he was just humoring their actions up to this point

If you watched carefully, you'd notice it wasn't that size at the beginning of this clip. The attack in question is obviously a "Continual Charge Power-up" style attack.

This. This is the sort of thing all anime should aspire to pull off, ive read the light novels so I knew this was going to happen (was very much looking forward to it) but it still blew my expectations out of the water with how uterly perfect the execution was.

Have to admit that everything about this scene was well executed. I like the idea that if you're about to use a powerful attack, you probably can't just shut it off if the fight is called off.
And then a fun way to showcase our Reincarnated Slime's power to just absorb the attack outright.

But still won't willingly eat a meal she made
happy ending with happy song turns into extra boss fight with extreme music.
I LOVE this scene. The "super powered ball of energy ready to be fired just disappearing when the fight suddenly ends" trope doesn't get turned on its head nearly enough.
In fact, I think the only other time I've seen it was in TFS' abridged version of _DBZ: World's Strongest_ when Goku tried to just "put down" the Spirit Bomb he'd gathered.

Crazy thing is he really isnt over power its his predator skill in season one n in season 2 it’s gluttony he can eat absorb and copy any skill yk how many anime characters had a copy skill n didnt use it to its fully ability😂 favorite anime as in my top 10 tbh
The thing is the journey of this guy is mostly about building his country, rather than pursuing power, so the OP part doesn't get focused on excessively, and the description of each small event in the story is very detailed, so even if there's not much show of power, it would still be able to get attention.
It's nice that they've also made it abundantly clear that while Rimuru is powerful, he's not unbeatable. He's already met several people who could take him out if pushed.
I admit, I've only watched the anime, so I dunno if that changes, but it's a very good way of balancing the whole "overwhelmingly powerful hero" trope.
And his personality, his methods, are also very refreshing. We see his people in action just as much as we see him in action, and that means there will always be stakes to every event.

This is honestly one of my favorite scenes from the entire anime man really said “fine.. I’ll do it myself!”
The next time somebody wants to show up and see how powerful he is or the next dignitary that gets sent there he should just have her shoot another energy ball as soon as they make eye contact and eat it then ask them what they came for lol
All of the inhabitants of Tempest have absolute faith in Rimuru. But only one of them has any kind of understanding of exactly how strong he is when he needs to be. There's a reason why the primordial black, one of the most powerful and feared beings on the planet, chose to serve him freely rather than try to subjugate him. The countries around Rimuru are terrified that he won't be able to match Diablo and keep him in check. When Rimuru is happy, he is as cute and tame and timid as a kitten. But make him truly angry and the term "power imbalance" doesn't even begin to describe the horrors you're about to experience. When you force his hand, the global balance of power has a seismic shift.
Which is to say that, when Ranga says that that much is to be expected of Rimuru, he has no idea just how low his expectations of him really are. His wildest dreams of Rimuru's power don't come close to the reality.
In theory, Rimuru should now be able to reuse this attack at will.
He could easily have made that attack on his own and doubled its strength while still maintaining control. He said himself, it’s basically a magic bullet pumped up to the max.
