'Zero Hour' is yet another of my AMV concepts long in the making. I first had an idea for this AMV in 2011. Back then i was planning to edit it to the same song i used in 'On My Own' (Globus - Orchard of Mines). Both storys are part of the same book and similar in tone. However, i was never really convinced of using the same song on both Videos. In 2016 I saw a Trailer for 'Rogue One' and considered using that trailers song for this AMV, even though the actual Anime 'Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory' was still two years away. In Fall of 2018 i was determined to edit this very AMV as the concept worked quite well with the now released Anime. However, i restricted myself to not edit it before finishing 'Darkest Hour'. This was for two reasons: Firstly, i didn't want to edit four AMVs to FMP in a row. Secondly, i already knew that this AMV would be called 'Zero Hour' and i didn't want it to take from 'Darkest Hour', which i consider a more ambitious project. So i did just that and halted production until May 2020. After releasing 'Darkest Hour' i went to edit this one right away and finished most of it within a week.
However, with the AMV mostly done in May i didn't like the idea to release it too close to 'Darkest Hour', again to not undermine it. I wanted to have some breathing space between the two. So i decided to release 'Into the Blue' and 'AnT' in between and have 'Zero Hour' for Christmas. Still, I had a blast editing this AMV. Maybe even more so than most of my other AMVs from 2020. And i got some good beta feedback from Zest and JCD. This is my first and likely only Christmas AMV release. Full Metal Panic! is a franchise very dear to me and Teletha Testarossa my favorite character from it. For the release date I chose December 24th as this is also the Birthday of Tessa, the main character in this AMV. The name 'Zero Hour' is also the name of the first episode of 'Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory' and describes the start of the events that lead to the fall of the PMC Mithril. Which is what you see in this AMV so i decided to reuse that name.
Anyway, I don't think I will edit another Full Metal Panic! AMV in the near (or distant) future. The franchise seems to be winding down and my current expectations for more Anime are low. Though, if FMP Anime ever returns, so will I. 2020 was also my first year where i didn't edit a main AMV to a song with english lyrics. However, my next AMV will make good on that. It's already well in progress and should be released much sooner than you think. So long.

i think more than someone that makes amv, u are a story teller, u pass thro ur videos the emotions, the tense moments, and u delivery the story in such a way that everyone who watches it feels like they watched the whole anime before, even tho they didnt, cos u are so good on telling the story in such few minutes, sir u are very talented
Thank you! I guess story telling is my big passion. I see these videos in my head and i want others to see them to. It's fun building these and I'm very fortunate to have found an audience to share them with.
Looking at this video and the music, even though I just watched the FMP Franchise recently...the events remind me of another battle, that was hopeless.
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
The Rebels were found, on Hoth in their secret base, and were attacked by several large 4 legged tanks, the AT-AT's. They had a diversionary force to hold them back, buy them time for the remaining rebels to try and flee the planet.
The parallels to this situation for Mithril is...I can't believe I didn't connect the dots sooner.
Mithril have been discovered, they are attacked by Behemoths, they had a diversionary force of the M9 armslaves as a diversionary force to hold them back, buy them time for the remaining Mithril forces to make it to the Tuatha De Danaan and flee the island.

An AMV almost a decade in the making, who would have thought. Im in awe of your patience and pursuit of excellence, also four AMVs at once? Talk about working hard! Sending off FMP with this great since I really liked this part in the manga, it shows how much Tessa has grown as a leader yet never leaving behind her caring nature. I can see why you waited to release this after darkest hour it allowed both videos to shine without taking the spotlight from one another since they are both absolute masterpieces. Thank you! I like her so much. Tessa is one of my fav Anime characters. Guess this AMV was a bit more personal to me than most others. Still hope we will get a DVMC Anime and season 5 at some point. Happy new year!

I finally got around watching and finishing Invisible Victory, watched all your AMVs about the season too rn, nice stuff, I still enjoy your cutting style
About the show tho, I really don't think the XEBEC studio gave it justice with often really clanky animation and sound design, was a bit of a letdown compared to the amazing job KyoAni did on s2. The story was still good, at least. I hope the next season, if there's going to be one will be directed by a proper animation studio that's not on the verge of bankrupcy like XEBEC was with this project :/
We can only hope they get the funding to finish the series. Leaving the series like they did is insane, story wise. Because to find out the true story, I believe its in the novels as well as finishing the PS4 game "Full Metal Panic: Who Dares Wins".
Kyoani will take a while to rebuild, due to the last incident. XEBEC I can only agree with you and hope they do not get bankrupt and finish this series. The Animation with the mechs seems a right direction

What i dont really get is how could have an organization like this remain in secret when Mithril is looking for them?
Building the giant mechs is not an easy thing. Also they had very pityfull amount of air defense and stand-by crew.
They eventually get to this, same as why exactly mechs exist in this universe. A lot of sci-fi with mechs glosses over these details, not FMP. I won't spoil you but if you're interested FMP! Sigma is fully translated and it covers basically what's left from the main story of FMP in manga format. Or read the light novels in English if that's more to your taste, the latter tends to be a slight bit more detailed/technical.
