As a Portland fan. If I'm the Blazers I'd just still trade him to any respectable destination or just keep Dame. I'm not going for that "it can ONLY be Miami bs", especially if Miami's offer isn't good enough. Blazers will take Herro and 4-5 1st rd picks and 2 2nd rd picks. Or just Bam and a single 1st rd pick. Also, Blazers shouldn't be willing to take back any longterm salary besides Bam or Herro. And, I like Herro, but I can imagine the Blazers would not be thrilled to get him not because of his talent either, he's just a redundancy for the Blazers. Only reason Blazers are considering trading Dame is because now we definitely have too many starting caliber guards. Right now Blazers have 2 guards a PG and SG we see as starting caliber to build a future around, AND we have Dame and Simmons who are starters easily starters that can both easily average 20ppg as the main or even secondary scoring option. Replacing Dame with Herro just doesn't solve the too many starting guards caliber problem. Simmons and Herro are about the same in talent level. To ask one of them to go from a starting role to a bench role for Scoot Henderson probably won't be an ideal situation for them. When they'd be eithe the best player or second best player on like 15-20 other teams. They also both make starter monet. And having Scoot come off the bench is a waste of time if they decide to trade Dame.

Just saying they are already paying Simons less than Herro and his numbers are not much different . Miami is being lazy as they know if they get Dame they have to move Herro. Time for Riley to stop thinking he is in the same position as the Suns and find a third team to take Herro for first rounders.
