A little about me and this channel:
My name is James Aubrey IV and I just recently graduated college from Iowa State University. After college I decided to take a leap of faith. So I moved to San Diego California to pursue my passion for videography/ RUclips. Overall I'm a pretty chill person, outside of RUclips I like to longboard, dance, play video games, lift weights and hangout with my friends. I know that success on RUclips won't happen overnight but I'm willing to stay patient and put in the work to try to prefect my craft daily. This RUclips channel will be centered around my life after college. You will be able to see all of the ups and downs on my journey to success. So if you like the content make sure you subscribe so you can be apart of the Rome Life Family. (Let's build our own personal Rome's together.)
What is the Rome Life ? And What does it mean to be apart of it?
Rome Life is something I started during my Sophomore year of high school (one of the worst times in my life) it started off as me documenting my journey to recovery from my shoulder surgery but eventually it turned into a platform that I could use to encourage myself as well as others to chase our dreams.
Rome Life isn't just a saying it's a way of life and for the people who want to be apart of it have to realize that. Rome wasn't built in a day it took a lot of handwork time and most importantly patience. So you can't expect your dreams to be any different
This is a reaction video used to educated and give my feedback on the song and artist

Yes... Vanilla Ice took this riff and tried to pass it off as his own ... got sued for it too.
I think you’ll like the Queen-only Live at Wembley ‘86 version of this, with the insanely energetic crowd... and Freddie starts it all with the best crowd-participation you could possibly ask for. (Part of that performance’s video clips were used in this)
The video you are watching right now is a compilation of Bowie clips and Queen clips overlaid upon the studio track... they never performed it live together.

Yup, and his punishment for lying and scheming was a cool 4 MILLION paid to Queen for not just admitting to the tune being the same song (by which sampling their sound) and making a deal out of court. Queen tried to be easy in him and tired to make a deal... But some people just have to learn the hard way. And he didn’t learn his lesson with the other side of that record where he sampled Play That Funky Music White Boy by Wild Cherry and had to pay them $500,000 for using their song without permission in another court battle.
Robert Parissi (Vanilla Ice) is broke today. Terrible business man. He now works in construction, home flipping.

Thought I’d let you know a little bit about the guitarist, Brian May. He has a doctorate in Astrophysics. He was member of the NASA New Horizons team that flew by Pluto. He was a chancellor at Liverpool John Moores University from 2008 to 2013. There is an asteroid named after him. He co-founded Asteroid Day with astronaut Rusty Swhweickart to bring awareness to asteroids and how to protect Earth from them. So he’s much more than a singer/guitarist/composer.
Oh yeah, the guitar he plays was build by him and his father when he was a teenager.

Yes, he stole the riff & tried to say he wrote it. Had to settle with the Band Queen & David Bowie and give them writing credits. Freddie broke his mic stand early on & liked the freedom it gave him to move around so he kept it. “Now I’m Here” from Wembley 1986 is whole band on fire. Tons of songs to do🔥🔥🔥 Bet you’ll also love “Cool Cat” - very Motown vibe.

Also, what you heard here is the studio version. Someone mashed up two different concerts to make it look like Queen and Bowie were on stage together. There was a time when no one knew about David Bowie. The whole point of this channel is that he is learning about new types of music. I think it’s brilliant that he has now discovered a brand new artist to him, one of the greatest artists of all time. Also, imagine never having heard any David Bowie songs before. That microphone thing is Freddie's. At a very early concert, might have been before they released their first album in 1973, somebody didn't tighten the telescopic thumbwheel and after he started singing, he grabbed the stand, and it fell apart. He did not stop singing and the band did not stop playing. That's the kind of things that make Freddie one of the best live performers ever. He kept the mike stand that way.

This came out as a #1 hit in 1986. This was put out five years before anyone knew Vanilla Ice existed. It came about when Queen Bass Player John Deacon created the riff during a jam session with his Queen bandmates and David Bowie. Unfortunately, I don't think they ever did a live collaboration as Queen split for a couple years and only toured for about a year before Freddie's illness turned them into a studio band. They remained in the studio and making videos until his death in 2001. After his death, Queen's Innuendo album won a British music award.

RIP David Bowie and Freddie Mercury. You know they are both chilling with God and having some really great jam sessions. The mic for Freddie was more of a comfort thing than anything else. I guess his security blanket. Vanilla Ice did steal this from them.

HA HA... "is this his only really good song". Bowie's career spanned from the late 1960's to 2016 when he passed away. He has a song catalog most artists can only dream about.
I've been trying to get other reactors to do a trilogy of David Bowie videos but so far no takers. The concept is this... David's first #1 single in 1969 had a character called Major Tom. That character showed up in two other songs over the course of his career. If you react to all three you can see how that character changed over time. So start with the first one called Space Oddity...
    ruclips.net/video/RRCKPAHUorI/видео.html
Then look at Ashes To Ashes from 1980. Major Tom takes a bad turn in this one...
    ruclips.net/video/HyMm4rJemtI/видео.html
The third song closes the chapter on Major Tom. It also closes the chapter on David Bowie since this is from the last album he released... just two days before he died. He recorded the entire album knowing he was dying btw. This one is called Blackstar...

David Bowie is another musical legend. His career spans close to 50 years, and he's got dozens of hit songs. In addition, David Bowie's music spans a lot of different genres, as he liked to switch things up so as to not ever be stale. When he died of cancer a few years ago, the world lost a true musical genius.

David Bowie is a legend, but I don’t know if you’re ready for him, TBH. It’s easy to start in the wrong place.
If you do Bowie, “Space Oddity” is a good introductory song, and then if you like it do something off the “Ziggy Stardust” album.
And, please man ... the band is called “Queen”, the singer is Freddie Mercury.

There are several different live shows of each song- each one a bit different as it is live! You can jump in and listen to at least 200 great songs written and sung from Queen! All of their songs are written by the band. Each member- Freddie, Brian, Roger and John are all in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for writing #1 hits! The only band to do it! All are college graduates. Brian- the lead guitarist is quite famous. He is also an astrophysicist. Roger and Brian still your to this very year. In their seventies!

The song's hook samples the bassline of the 1981 song "Under Pressure" by Queen and David Bowie,[11] who did not receive credit or royalties for the sample.[12] In a 1990 interview, Van Winkle claimed the two melodies were slightly different because he had added an additional note on the "and" of the fourth beat, an anacrusis ("pickup") between odd-numbered and subsequent even-numbered iterations of the "Under Pressure" sample.[13] In later interviews, Van Winkle readily admitted he sampled the song and claimed his 1990 statement was a joke; others, however, suggested he had been serious.[13][14] After representatives for Queen and Bowie threatened a copyright infringement suit against him, the matter was settled out of court, with Van Winkle being required to pay financial recompense to the original artists.[15] Bowie and all members of Queen were also given songwriting credit for the sample.[13]

Freddie always used a half a mike stand. It became his signature prop. Saw them twice in the 80's and the only time Freddie put that mic stand down was if he was at the piano or plating a guitar for Crazy Little Thing Called Love.

Bowie was my first concert in 1976. Check out Queen "I'm in Love With My Car" written and sung by Roger while he kills the drums and Freddie is singing backup for him for a change! It's only a couple mins long. Also, I think I read that Freddie had a 4-octive range, the full range of a piano!

This version, which I like, is the studio recording meshed with two separate performances. Queen live Montreal (the live version is awesome) and David Bowie (BowEE) at the Freddie Mercury Memorial concert. A fan put this video together. And yeah, that was Freddie hitting that outrageous note.
Vanilla Ice had to have been a toddler when this song was written. Queen took him to court and he negotiated a deal where he bought the rights to use Under Pressure. Smart man. Best decision he ever made, he said.

Vanilla Ice got the beat from Queen/Bowie. This is a due of 2 great British artists who I believe were both classically trained in London. Incidentally one of the greatest Persian/Iranian rockers is Queen. He was a Briton of Persian descent. Both parents were from Iran. Listen to David Bowie - he has his own list of great songs.

Oh, you're so young. Lol. 🙂
    1. Since Vanilla Ice was 14 when this song came out, he sampled the first part and got into a whole lot of legal trouble.
    2. David Bowie was a LEGEND. "Let's Dance". Was big and his duet with Mick Jagger from the Rolling Stones "Dancin' in the Streets" is my favorite. It talks about summer's here and it's time to dance. A perfect song for this time of year.
    3. David was married to the beautiful model, Iman for 24 years. Sadly he passed away in 2016.
    (Since you asked).
I can't find any newer episodes of your channel. Am I missing something? I think you're great!! ❤
BTW...Queen is the band. Freddie Mercury is the lead singer (yellow jacket).
    Try Queen. "Fat Bottom Girls".
