I’d love to ask what kind of paper you use to draw on with the charcoal?
My favorite thing to draw is the eye. I find hair the hardest thing to draw

It's the nose that gets me stuck sometimes
When it's even slightly out of shape the portrait looks completely different
The mouth and nose i find pretty easy to draw. The eyes and hair are another story

This gives me confidence that I can draw good, it makes me think that I can draw if i try hard enough, and this made me learn that it takes patients

Hi Kirsty. I watch your videos all the time, over and over again. They have improved my technique a 100 fold and I've been a Graphic and fine line artist for over 40 yrs. Your tuition is as refreshing and informative as you are stunning and you really have disproved the old adage. . ."You can't teach an old dog new tricks." I have it too, and I have had lots of fun with it. Except from the Tomboe eraser pen the set has all you need for a professional drawing.
Your artwork is too good to be true. "When did you first start drawing and do you teach art at college or high schools? Are you from the UK ? There's a lot of great artist that come from England. 👍
Love your tutorials! Can you use the back of a scalpel blade or similar to carefully scratch out fine highlights?
