- I get to test drive the all electric van Mullen One. The van MSRP cost around $34,000 and it also qualify for the $7,500 IRA incentive. The EPA range is 110 miles and you can check their website for full Specs. The van does not have CCS1 or DCFC. You can only charge the EV with a Level 2 J1772 plug which is not the best charging option. I hope Mullen might changer their mind in adding DCFC to the van. I got to drive the M1 van today at the NH Motor Speedway. The turn radius is awesome. No squegee turns!
I think they're going to sell a lot of these as well as the M3's. 34k minus the 7500 tax incentive is only 26,500. Thats a great price and even better considering the very low maintenance requirements of EV's along with fuel savings. You do nice reviews. Thanks !

No way is the sticker price going to be $34k. At a minimum add the $7.5k tax incentive. With a 110 mile range, that is at most 2 hours of driving at an average speed of 50mph. It might be a good start, but they have a long way to go.
@@doug.ritson driving 2 hours at 50MPH isn't how most would use this. We're talking about contractors heading out to local jobs or local delivery. For many that 110 Mile charge would last 3 days even. And then many would just return to their home/work and charge it overnight. totally different for family vehicles and the 300 Mile + ranges needed for that.
@@RJ4O4 Your math is correct, but remember that would be 50 miles out, and 50 miles home - at most. That EPA test was done with an empty vehicle and probably do not mimic how people actually drive. Locally at least 75% of the drivers exceed the posted 70mph hwy speed limit. I have a buddy who is on his 2nd TSLA and he told me his battery diminishes very quickly at higher speeds. 110 miles is the max under ideal conditions. How far would you deplete your battery? Even if the mileage is 100, I wouldn't want to push the range to 100 miles. These couldn't be used as a delivery van, say like Amazon/UPS/FedEx or economically at even a local auto parts store/flower shop, but they may attract a handy man/small contractor. Ford is currently losing $60k/F150 Lightning. If Ford can't come close to breaking even, I don't trust Mullen can come close to breaking even at $34k/vehicle. If Mullen can't even break even, they won't be around long.
@@doug.ritson lots of contractors are just local. pull up a map and see how far a mile or two really is. Even 20 miles a day is a lot of area.

Some of the things you said don't make sense, do you have any actual automotive experience? No, you can't just stick LEDs into a halogen housing, LEDs and halogens have a different refraction angle. Very uneducated comment.
Tell me what makes sense?Their are millions of people driving vehicles with aftermarket LED bulbs in Halogen housing. I have been installing LED bulbs in my previous ICE vehicles for years.
