Russ's Intro song backing track is
Rise & Shine by Warez Waldo (Planet Zaxxon)

( I just added my lyrics over it, thanks Carl 👍😁)
That vacuum is sick. I'm going to see if I can make one. Who you gonna call? NOT the Ghostbusters, Russ Lyman.
Glad you liked how it came out. Keep an eye out when you are at the Goodwill & Savers for a Vacuum
@@RussLyman Bristol used to have a Savers & a Goodwill. But they got shut down. Which really sucks, I used to get great deals in video game hunting there. Now I need to head to Waterbury & Plainville to shop retro games.
Thanks i appreciate this! going as luigi to the upcoming comic con in a month and wanted to be a little extra. With this My cosplay will be even better. Thank you sm!
Dude thats awesome, glad my video can inspire you and help you. Good luck with your Cosplay
So cool. Your DIY projects are always flawless! You’re incredibly talented.
Thank you! 😊
This is seriously awesome Russ 😧 😆wow man great job 👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼 the vacuum you used as a sample was seriously spot on in design great find on that one.
yeah that is the main thing you need to get, and I was so happy that it matched the shape perfect.
Looks great, Russ. Keep up the good work.
thank you so much, glad you enjoyed the build
Absolutely incredible!! 👏👏👏
awww thanks so much. Glad you liked how it turned out
I can't believe how cool this turned out! You found a perfect starting vacuum too so that was a huge win! Very impressed man, poor Mario at the end there was feeling very under equipped haha
Yes I lucked out for sure on that find. If it was any other shape it wouldn't have looked right. Yeah when they came to pick it up his little bro was asking if I could build him something. I said maybe next year ha
@@RussLyman maybe F.L.O.O.D. from Super Mario Sunshine??
When you mentioned the heft of the motor that took me back to a job I had where I DID wear a vacuum on my back (and totally felt like a ghostbuster) and aw yeah, it gets heavy fast--and HOT. Loving that Luigi's Mansion track you used too--very nice!
Light and handle pieces--even the PVC for the hose, dude, I adore how clever you are with these builds!!
This came together so well man!! Best of luck rescuing Mario and defeating King Boo!!
I seen those real backpack vacuums and leaf blowers. I can only imagine.
I was pondering how what things to use on this build while at work that whole week. Went to Home Depot I think 7 times lol
Happy how it came out and the boy was super happy to receive it.
This is awesome. Nice work. You always exceed expectations with your projects.
Thank you very much! I appreciate it
I have the Dark moon ringtone, now I need this, this is just amazing.
so awesome. Are you going to get the HD remaster on the Nintendo Switch of Number 2 ??
@@RussLyman yup
Russ this is so cool. You always make the coolest things. lol
thanks so much. Yeah I was happy I could pull this off, and happy I found a vacuum that really fit the shape
Hey Russ, I have an idea, you dont need to do this but a fun challenge would be to make this out of spare scraps and try to make another poltergust, besides that this thing is AWESOME!
Yes that would be a challenge indeed. I might have to try that in the future. Maybe for this October
I used that exact same Eureka Maxima vacuum for my Ghostbuster Luigi 13 years ago. Neat to see it used by someone else for essentially the same prop. I snagged mine new, for like $50, though, so it never got used as an actual vacuum before being gutted for my costume.
Dude yesss. I totally lucked out that my uncle had picked this one up at a goodwill. It is the perfect shape for this too
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH I NEEDED SOME HELP WITH MY COSPLAY
heck yeah, glad you found the video. Feel free to tag me @russlyman when you post a photo of your cosplay
COOL!
Glad you dig the build
Thank you so much your video is amazing and looking up this video worked I love you Ross lyman
you got it, glad I could inspire you to make your own. Feel free to tag me in some photos if you post them online @RussLyman
Nice fester's Quest music
thank you. Was trying to find other spooky games to use their music. That game certainly has a killer soundtrack
That great!!!
thank you so much for watching and enjoying the build
Dude, this was so good!
heck yeah, glad you enjoyed it 👍
That is awesome!!
Sweet, glad you liked how it turned out
My man Russ at it again. 😅
Always making something cool ha. This was a fun project to do last minute. I was happy I got it done in time for Halloween
Can you please list down what things you used to make it
I want to make it myself
I mean I showed them in the video and where I got them, It was more of guideline of things you could use. The main thing would be the type of vacuum, you have to be lucky to find one at a Goodwill that is this shape. Any vacumm could work, but this type of one looks the most like his
Better than the Nintendo one
heck yeah, much appreciated
I now have a Poltergeist 5000
Yesss so awesome
I ain't afraid of no ghost
Bustin make em feel good
Glowstick For A Strobulb
Yes that would work too, great idea
@@RussLyman Poltergust 5000 from Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon for the 3DS back in 2013
Hey, Russ! I built a Poltergust, with help from your vid and a lot others, for my Ghostbusters comic convention cosplaying. The only thing I have left are the flashlights out of the vacuum head. Yes, I installed two red momentary switch buttons, one for a white flashlight and one for a future "Dark Light" mode from the game, which is basically UV flashlight. I could just buy two LEDs but I'm wondering what exactly that black piece is you welded to the puck and how I could also hook a puck light up to my momentary push button. I'm learning electronics as I go so I'm an amateur. I did solder a capacitor back into the Gameboy Horror I made and I did install a green LED and a four pole rocker switch into the Poltergust for a higher quality build though. Just don't know what you did there to that puck light. Anyway, any reply much appreciated. Thanks, Russ!
I put a piece of foam that I shoved into the barrel pipe and then stuck the puck light to that.
The puck like I bought had a button that turned it on, so all I did was open it up, and take that switch out, extended the wires and put the wires to the arcade button instead.
Hope this helps some, there are many ways you can attach your puck lights though. I lucked out that the puck lights diameter was almost the same as the PVC pipe so it was a snug fit
@@RussLyman Thanks, man! Actually, I ended up figuring out how to rewire an LED flashlight. The bulb housing, for lack of the correct term, ended up fighting perfectly into the PVC pipe as well.
i want that
Its a pretty awesome prop for sure
Can you do the poltergust 3000
thanks so much for checking out the build. I will certainly keep that in mind. Maybe for October that would be a fun one
My vacuum cleaner was red but more harder and I did it
That is great news Kathleen, glad you found one, and you didnt even have to paint it
Can i get the Photo Shop Data that i Can Print IT Out?
Unforently I did not save any of the photoshop files, I was in a rush to get this project done for my friends and had them on my desktop to print them out, than I cleaned up my desktop a week after. But a quick google search and you should be able to find something similar.
Make it your own
Damn i wanna build IT But it doesnt Look easy enough for me 😅😅
It all comes down to finding that vacuum. It works perfect for what Luigi had in the game
How much did this all cost my guy?
after adding it all up I think it was about $100 for all the parts
Its good but i feel like you went half measures with this. I feel if do e again you could make something 10x better
Well it was a commission for my friend at work for her child. I didnt want to be like, "Ok that will be $300, I had to make it screen accurate". Even with this it still cost me around $100 with materials and not including my time
@@RussLyman I hope you didn't read my comment as a negative. I think your final product was 10/10 I just felt like you could have made it even better.
Nintendo already make one lol
I know they would make a killing if they mass produced these
