if posie parker was a massive trans rights campaigner and i agreed with her on everything, that "there is precious little i am ever wrong about" speech would still be a massive red flag
Doesn't that prove the point of trans people? Ie, that men can intrude in any women space they want, if they want to, and don't have to pretend to be trans for that? ^^'

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Let’s assume she gets what she wants, right? Men with guns get to shoot and threaten women in bathrooms. Problem is they know they’re going in to LOOK for trans folks. Since they’re primed to think about trans people as being present, they’d latch onto any non typically feminine person as being trans and shoot them, the likely outcome of this is that way more cis women will get killed than trans women. So yeah we’re just out here sacrificing women to use their blood to lubricate trans crushing machine that seems real worth it from a women’s rights perspective don’t it? Congrats! @@peace-now lot of the alt right tend to be because they HAVE to be. Their ideology relies on fitting the correct archetype in order to achieve their perceived idea of greatness. These archetypes are formed of unchangeable characteristics like race, sex, orientation, etc. Thus supporters start limiting their personalities and lives around those things thus being one dimensional. In the case of Keene, she is one of those women who only feels powerful when lording her perceived biological power over marginalised people (more able to do so by being a white woman, who is a key instrument in maintaining white patriarchal capitalism). A lot of TERFs fear trans women because they worry that they would be more oppressed than they already are - they think that their ability to give birth will spare them from direct patriarchal violence. As long as they get to oppress others, they'll be happy.
The trouble with reality is that while fiction needs to make sense to a reader, reality has no such obligation. Thus, it's way more bonkers than any fiction can be in regard to certain things. I would personally though prefer dealing with singing frogs, dancing trees, and the occasional power mad rogue wizard over whatever this nonsense with ever power gaining hate movements is. As why, they get to do what they do and are also gaining ground in many places around the world while most people sit around and spectate just makes my mind melt from the sheer idiocy of letting this happen due to how much actual suffering it creates. Not to mention how negatively it will impact the lives of everyone in the long run too. This particular problem won't go away without doing something to combat it, and so it's frustrating how many rather stick their heads in the sand rather than understand it's time to get on with it and start doing less, they want an ever bigger mess. In fact, it feels like most folk imagine the time of great human rights battles is somehow long gone and over, rather than it being in one of it's the most prominent rounds right now.

In the real world that we live in, it can be easly observed that KJK is a working class mum of 4 children who became involved in the women's movement because of her experience at a women's section of the British Labour Party (a socialist party) which she was a member of. I suspect what you are observing ,at least in part, is her very combataive language which is a product of her natural speech pattern, which middle class people might find unfamiliar and possibly might offend some people's sensibilities. Some times if you try hard enought you will find what ever you want to find.
I am a mixed race cis femme lesbian. I've been regularly misgendered since I was a teenager because my face has the audacity not to fit western beauty standards - even got bullied for it. I'm not trying to look masculine(but you shouldn't be threatened if you do, that goes without saying). I can see the incomprehension and disgust in people's eyes when they can't figure out what I am. I've been fearing public restrooms even before the whole trans panic and even before figuring out i was gay just because I looked different. Now, because of people like KJK, it's become worse. I keep being misgendered. If I'm dressed casual, I'm a man. If I wear a dress, I'm, strangely, a trans woman. Now, I know in 99% of the cases, nothing violent will happen to me in public restrooms or in any public spaces, but the 1% is now terrifying me beyond measure. But thank you TERFS for making cis women and lesbians like me feel safe I guess. This is why I stand with trans people and jewish people - and any other oppressed minority. It is VERY easy to be othered and made the target of a group who arbitrarily decided you needed to be erased out of existence, because said group's standards for "what's normal and good" are so narrow that you have more chance to be hurt than being part of said group. Even cishet white women often don't fit the TERF/nazi criterias defining a woman. Anyway. My dear trans friends, we have so much in common and you have made my life brigther time and time again. I'll march with you and protect you until the end. You are loved. Edit: oh hells, thanks for the likes! I want to make clear that my situation as a cis woman is not as terrible that of trans people. I just wanted to highlight how this "protect women" motto is bullshit, because it also ends up hurting people like me. As with everything intersectionality is key and that's why you can't separate gay and trans people, and lbgt people and people of color, because we have a lot of things in common, and above all, sadly, the people who want us dead!
I'm AFAB and although I'm non binary I'm very femme presenting most days and it's crazy to me that the only times I've been stopped from using the womens restroom is when I'm at my most femme. I've never had any gender affirming medical treatment. But because my face is just a little too masculine and my frame a little too square I'm somehow both female and not female enough. Transphobia is a nonsense ideology.
That sucks so much. I haven't encountered people actually misgendering me (so far at least). I have visible facial hair, and I never felt very judged for that, until the TERFs (and other transphobes) started going on and on about the differences between cis women and trans women. I'm a cis woman, and I guess I don't count as a woman according to the TERFs. I can't have kids, I have visible facial hair... It was pretty clear to me that TERFs don't give a rat's arse about women, all their definitions of women exclude me after all. They don't care about all the cis women they hurt in their anti trans bigotry, they only care to hurt trans people, and the collateral damage is unimportant apparently.
And in the end “it’s everyone fault, but my own”. This sort of guilt tripping is so synonymous with humans who are so entitled and privileged, no matter the circumstances they want to bring up to ‘prove’ how they could never be privileged or entitled… Learn to understand what *social standards* are, and why you think you are entitled for everyone to destroy their own foundations, and build those in your honor! We do not need to abide your absurdist ideals that go against basic logic, as well proper biology! Even your standards of beauty are beyond envy and spite that you some how feel ENTITLED to change the very fabric beauty so instead of it naturally coming to people on what they think is ‘beautiful’, instead it’s done so out of fear, groupthink, or politics!
It amazes me…truly that a hypocrite like yourself thinks they are truly coming with good faith…Do you not see the irony of your words as you simultaneously chastise another group you wish to see eliminated from this earth? Those “cishet white woman” seem to be just as entitled as to their beliefs as you do, yet somehow you get to advocate for their destruction because they refused to accept what you think you narcissistically deserve?! That everyone *must* accept your reality, or we’re basically on par with the “Nazis” and those evil pale people. Ironic again that you simply target white people (no doubt a symptom of your own bigoted racism), when most heterosexual people will agree with those “nazis”, regardless of creed or race. You also once again use the word “TERF” which targets another group you wish to see gone, yet don’t comprehend that you are committing the same atrocities as those you chastise….Hypocrisy must certainly not exist in your vocabulary. All of the worlds consequences are because of your own ridiculous actions! You chose to let science morph you into something that go against nature! You somehow believed your brain was different, when countless times your side has insisted that male and female brains are the same, and that stereotypes that differentiate sex are sexist. So what exactly are changing to? Nothing given your sides logic.
As an openly bisexual cis guy, I get genuinely confused seeing gay men hop on the anti trans "groomer" narrative, especially since many of them are in their 40s to 50s. They would have lived through the "gay debate" of the 90s-2000s where identical rhetoric of "they want to corrupt our kids" was used. For the younger gay men, like myself, we're at least aware of the history there
Probably because of the legislative movements to seperate parents from their kids and push hormone treatments that sterilize and practice plastic surgery as therapy!

I hope this doesn’t sound bad but in my personal anecdotal experience, I feel like most not very political people aren’t bothered by trans people. Beside the facts that the true nature of the holocaust and Germany's responsibility for the war were concealed from the public anyone who had the nouse to recognise the danger of the regime they were living under was surrounded by loyal subjects to the Fuhrer. Taking a stand in public would just get you sent straight to a concentration camp which is what happened to thousands of people who did have the courage. Engaging in sabotage of some nature would likely result in a person's execution. KJK focusing on the "horrificness" of being sterile -- either saying she want to protect young trans men from being sterilized or advocating for forced sterilization as a punishment for people she doesn't like -- is giving me flashbacks to my early 20s. When I was 17, I was diagnosed with cancer and went through chemotherapy as part of my treatment. There we certain people who would look me in the face and tell me I should've just let the cancer kill me rather then agree to a treatment that would sterilize me. It seems ridiculous, but there are people who are so obsessed by the mere idea of women's fertility that they would wish a cancer survivor dead to their face for being a cancer survivor. It's no wonder KJK doesn't care if if abortion rights are lost. She truly believes that women are breeding machines and should drop dead after go they through menopause because they are "useless" after that point. The fact that anyone could think this woman cares about women's rights or is a feminist is beyond absurd.

The idea is to guard toilets from trans women because remember, bigots can "always tell". Except they can't always tell so this tactic, if anyone tried it out, would kill a fuckload of people
it's quite easy to understand when you realize it's not (only) about her thinking trans women are men. It's because she believes they're the wrong kind of men. Her focus on gender obscures the reality that she sees trans women as PERVERTS. Trans women are not just men to her, they're inherently perverted, predatory men by nature of their transness. Notice how she claims that being trans is a paraphilia and that the most common accompanying paraphilia is paedophilia. Ignoring the fact that paraphilias do not necessarily equal harmful behaviour and what is and is not a paraphilia is a pretty complicated subject, she equates being trans to deviant sexual behaviour which therefore means trans women--who once again she sees as men--cannot be trusted around "vulnerable" cis women. To put it in simpler terms, this is basically the same as fears around black men assaulting white women. It was not the male part of the equation that bigots saw as the source of danger, but maleness in intersection with blackness. With trans women, it's the perceived maleness in intersection with a specific type queerness. But the right kind of man can be trusted around vulnerable women, you see. The right kind of man will protect the vulnerable women from the evil, predatory, perverted men. In fact, it's necessary that they accompany women everywhere in order to "protect" them. Because there are two types of men. The Good Men who are straight and white and cis and masculine, who have power and respect. And the Bad Men, the Enemy Men, the Other who is a man, they are predators and perverts and rapists, they are coming over the border or sneaking into women's restrooms or sharing a classroom with your daughter! And the Good Men, they are Protectors, that's what Being A Man means when you're a proper one, so these Big Strong Good Men have to take their guns and violence--which they can be trusted with because they're the Good Men and not like those Bad Men whose manly power is always a threat--and must terrorize the Bad Men to fend them off (all for the sake of the vulnerable women, of course). And even if those Bad Men don't seem to be doing anything wrong, they are, because they're lying and sneaky and deceptive therefore all violence done against them is simply preventing the evil they'd no doubt commit if a Good Man wasn't there to stop them. And of course whether or not someone is a Good Man or a Bad Man is readily apparent to anyone with "common sense." The safety of women isn't even really that important here, it's just an excuse; it's about men finding a justification for inflicting violence against other marginalized men. But just the same as the violence against marginalized men being justified by their perceived threat to women, the perceived threat these Bad Men are said to hold against women is further used to justify oppressing and discrimination against women for their own "protection." And as we can see in the video as well as historically, women have a history of using this kind of bigotry to direct male violence at marginalized men as well.
And let's not forget, encourage these armed men to harm women they perceive as not being feminine enough, so they are suspected of being trans. It's really mask off in regards to pretending to care about women's safety.

It's not even when you're not presenting in a gendered way! I'm a very feminine presenting cis woman (long hair, makeup, dresses, all that stuff), but a combination of genetics and PCOS has given me features like broad shoulders and large hands, on top of a lot of bodyhair that I spend a lot of time and effort on removing. This alone has caused several TERFS to question my gender. It's frankly insulting that they're policing what womanhood gets to look like.
This took place in the US, but one of my friends got harassed because she wore baggy clothes, didn't have makeup on, and had a chin dimple. That's literally it. Apparently that's "manly" and she was "obviously trans". Transphobes would be almost comically stupid if they weren't so dangerous.
These feminists accuse trans women of making a caricature of femininity but then turn around and judge the appearance of a woman who doesn't present in a feminine manner.
I know a number of trans women (trans guy myself). Most trans women get hassled less than butch lesbians in bathrooms. Because the phobes always think they can clock a trans. What they can "clock" is how feminine a person is presenting and most (not all) trans women make a concerted effort to look quite feminine, often beyond what is even typical for cis women. It's like that bigoted grandpa at the sports ball event who started hassling a little (cis) girl because she had short hair. He's obviously oblivious to what most trans people are doing. A trans girl is far more likely to have long hair. Because gender norms and stereotypes blah blah. The phobes are just dumb and ignorant to the point where they can't even bigot properly.
This week, after many, many years of hiding it, I came out to my family. As a trans woman in the UK, I am scared for my future. I just wanted to thank you for fighting so hard on behalf of myself and countless others in this country. Your cool-headed rationalism and meticulous research speak far louder than any fascist with a megaphone. You're an inspiration. Keep up the good work.
@@Fleshdeficiency I intend to flee this hellhole as soon as I am able to obtain a passport with my correct gender on it. Not a huge fan of existing in a country led by a man who routinely legislates against my human rights.
Things are really bad for trans people here in the US, too. I'm cis, but I'm keeping my ear to the ground on this anti-trans stuff. The Nazis started their campaign of terror with targeting LGBTQ people prior to World War II. Republicans in the US are increasingly starting to resemble said Nazis prior to World War II. Hence my deep concern. I'm not familiar with your politics, but I imagine the situation is similar across the pond, because I know you have more than your share of horrible conservatives in your government same as us. I see what's happening, and I won't be silent about it. Just wanted you to know there are people outside of your community (besides Shaun of course) who will advocate for you.
Just a het, cis man here, but I just wanted to say that I think your rigorous defence of trans folk and methodical demolition of transphobes is just wonderful. I wish you did more videos, but if fairly infrequent uploads is the price we pay to get a near two hour long video like this, which must take an incredible amount if work, then it's all good with me.
@bgirlpamsolo just to add a little bit more: cis is Latin for _same_ side, specifically. A famous ancient example would be the Romans saying cis-Alpine and trans-Apline to denote lands "on our side of the Alpines" or "across the Alpines from us," respectively. One transits, transplants, or transitions from one place/side to another. Not just travel in general; the root meaning is all about _crossing a divide._ Could be a mountain, a continent, a river, or a gender. Sorry to go on for so long but I wanted to give some examples of how cis is an ordinary classical Latin word with an ordinary functional meaning, to combat the propaganda that it's a new word "invented by PC warriors to slur normal people" as one often hears.
@@suzboneWell y'know, if they complain, we could always just offer to use the greek prefix instead and call them "homogender". Surely they wouldn't have a problem with that, right?
Something very telling occurred to me upon a rewatch of this: You mentioned how many of the infamous images of the Nazis burning books were them burning books from Hirschfeld’s sexology institute. Nazis burning books has always been a go-to image to illustrate the evil of the Nazis, visual shorthand for “don’t be like these monsters,” but as a shorthand image when it’s evoked it almost always (rather conveniently) overlooks exactly what books were being burned. …I say “conveniently” as I watch the smoking tailspin the Republican Party is currently in here in the US, specifically regarding the recent reactionary push to ban books dealing with LGBTQ+ issues and culture on the grounds that it’s “pornographic,” “sexually explicit,” and/or “sexualizing our kids.” My morbid curiosity can’t help but wonder how conservatives here in the US would react to the knowledge that the Nazis banned and burned books, which they are usually quick to acknowledge is bad, but the books they were banning and burning were about LGBTQ+ issues… which many of them are in favor of banning. I’d like to think they simply don’t know, give them the benefit of the doubt and all that. Admittedly I didn’t know the history of Hirschfeld’s institute or how the Nazis destroyed it until recently and I’m gay, so I imagine many straight cis people, conservative or otherwise, would have even less reason to know about it. Again, the Nazis started somewhere… ignorance is the fascist’s greatest weapon.
Don't worry, they know. They've known. That, or they're stupid. In the US, we *just* went through this whole 'kid corruption' thing, but with Gay people. The same players that lost their whole 'gays are bad' gambit are now pulling the 'transes are bad' gambit in order to win back ground. It is, both hearteningly and dishearteningly, not really anything that motivates anyone. Anti-trans positions aren't winners, but they also don't motivate voters to punish the politicians who push them. It's just another dumb bullshit thing in our ever churning culture war that really only one side cares about. I think part of that is that trans stuff became super normalized in the professional and academic spheres super quickly, thus also quickly creating an air of acceptance among people who interact with those circles. Everyone I know that's under like 50 knows someone who's trans, because the internet has connected so many people across distances and if you've been to college before getting mad about trans people was trendy, you were probably pretty laid back about the whole ordeal. It just makes sense, honestly, and if you're a nerd you've been dealing with gender-bending stuff in your sci-fi, fantasy, and trash manga for a long time now. It wasn't an alien concept, and it's pretty easy to understand and accept. Anti-trans stuff feels, more than a civil rights struggle, like a confusing and exhausting backlash, even though it is a civil rights struggle. Cause honestly a lot of civil rights struggles were very much people from non-shitty places going "wait what the fuck are you doing over there" and then a fight happening as more people noticed naked oppression. Which is why fascism comes so easily to anti-trans assholes: they're fundamentally revanchists rather than conservatives. They're not trying to keep things the same, they're trying to change things for the worse so they can retreat to an imaginary past.
For the most part, I doubt they'd care. They'd say something like, 'Oh, it was bad when they burned the wrong books. But the books we're burning are different! It's actually justified here'. If it were hard to rationalise one's bigotry, there wouldn't be a Republican Party.
Fun fact: Many Neo-Nazis DO mention that they burned several books on sex ed...... But only to say, "See, they were burning the RIGHT books! They were degenerate books, fuck them!"
KJK who is a working class mother of 4 children and who used to be a member of the British Labour Party (a socialist party) is a national and international figure who is known for fighting for the sex based rights of women and has been under constant scrutiny for many years , who happens to live in modern day Britain , which is one of the most tolarent and open nations on the face of the earth. Trying to associate this very concerned mother with some of the most evil people in human history is just a very crude form of character assassination, which appears to be a very poor substitute for an intelligent and coherent argument against some of the criticism against transgenderism. Working class women are notorious for their lack of ability in organising Nazi cells.
@@kathleenpearson-dh9od She quite literally has said more than once she wants trans people to die, which is what exactly the Nazis did to trans people. And many biologists, anthropologists, medical organizations, and historians has presented intelligent and coherent arguments against criticisms of trans people, critics just don't want to listen.
You wanna talk about holding two contradictory ideas in your head at the same time, Posie “the attackers didn’t know their victim was trans so it’s not a hate crime, despite how obviously hideous and easily recognisable all trans women are” Parker can do it in one sentence. I’d be impressed if I were so disgusted.
People willingly believing bullshit to avoid showing compassion is the “end of civilization” Parker is so worried about, and she’s dancing right in the mud.
In the fascist brain, there are no contradictory ideas. The truth is whatever it needs to be to serve the cause. The truth can change, instantly, in every sentence. They do it so much it becomes second-nature, reflexive.
Lol trans people dont all assimilate. Some trans women ate 100% passable while others are men wearing wigs, giant fake tits with cheap makeup smeared on their face….
To me it's a sign of the monster that she is, along with the ability of not realizing how much she is not about protecting women when she says this, to me at least, is not hilarious: it unfortunately has real-world consequences because people eat her statements up...

The most awful groups imaginable, who have shared her views on trans people for longer than she has been alive show up at her rally KJK: Something feels really off about this. I can't imagine why these people would support me or show up.
The fact the Nazis keep appearing at my events has nothing to do with what an awful person I truly am. - KJK Seriously though, every time you hear about a rally of hers you'll find blackshirts pulling security for it. Someone from the Victorian rally had pictures of them getting high fives from police and other signs of acceptance from the cordon that was blocking the counter protest and attendees but they keep trying to claim that they weren't invited and were unwelcome oh kids your organisers could have done plenty to keep them away.
That's probably the least believable thing she's ever said. She is clearly quite happy to have their support, and is only half-heartedly trying to distance herself from them because of the optics, because she knows she'll lose a hell of a lot of supporters if she openly accepts them.
the KJK apologists still commenting things like "she just wants to protect women" and "she's never said anything hateful" under this specific video where they are *directly proven to be lying* are giving me a headache
The core issue is that they just don’t think it’s hate. When KJK spews her bile, all they hear is “hard truths.” They genuinely think transphobia is good for society, and it’s really hard to reason with someone who fundamentally believes that the harm they’re causing is actually saving lives
@@GloomdrakeI think you are almost correct, but I think you misunderstand a bit their reasons for saying these things. The cruelty is the point. All the talk about saving lives, protecting women, and being good for society are external justifications. They are only using them to justify their actions to other people. Internally though? They act like this because they enjoy the cruelty of it, and they enjoy it because it gives them power.

I know there are an infinite amount of worse things she's done, but something that stood out to me personally was the tweet where she said something like 'girls your age [women in their 20s] either barbie themselves up or go the trans route'. She's a stereotypical middle aged woman who is so unnecessarily nasty and condescending to younger women, calling them 'girls' even when they are well into their 20s and basically calling any woman who likes to wear makeup and short dresses a bimbo like Barbie. And there's (sadly) a lot of older women who are like that, but at least they don't try to pass themselves off as feminists.
The "zombie rules" thing is also a really good description of US culture during the AIDS panic. Everyone is a potential victim, until the moment they are victimized at which point they become a predator
Doesn't hurt that being far-right has been shown in studies to correlate with having a higher disgust response. It's why the concept of it being a social "contagion" is so appealing; it strokes that deep, gut feeling of revulsion.
I think the part about historical Nazis persecuting LGBTQ activists and supressing/destroying gender research should be its own video, it's very important to understanding current events and might be lost in the larger context of KJs personality, views and connections
It’s such a heart breaking episode, and definitely needs more visibility. We could be so much further on in our understanding and science if the life’s work of those researchers was not desecrated.
It’s sad when you consider that Germany (especially Berlin) was such a progressive, liberated place during the Weimar years and was ahead of its time both culturally and scientifically…then only to fall to Hitler and the Nazis with only 33% of the vote. I am somewhat curious about her relationship with her children and husband. Caelan Conrad has spent months in private Gender Critical Facebook groups and has hundreds of screenshots of GCs complaining about losing friends and family members over their increasingly disturbing obsession with trans people (well, they call it "commitment" but you know). It seems the way transphobia completely consumes GCs lives makes them unpleasant to be with even for people who aren't trans-affirming themselves. Transphobic livestreams are KJKs dayjob, like Shaun said, and she runs her own merch store on top of that, it must take up a massive chunk of her time. Not to mention her frequent "tours". I wonder what her family thinks of all that.
The fact that we don't see her pulling them in, trad-wife style, indicates to me that they might not be too happy / on-board with her personal fashy crusade.
Something I have observed is that, once someone gets a taste of the GC rush, it slowly but surely becomes the only thing they talk about, especially online. I can't remember her name but I remember going on a random anti-trans journalist's Twitter and counting how many of the first 20 tweets were related to trans people. It was 15-17! I thought about how it would seem if someone pulled the reverse on me, and counted how much I complained about anti-trans people in the most recent 20 tweets I've published, and I would like to think it would only be about 5-8 at the most. Even though I'm passionate about trans rights, there's only so much I can focus on the opposition at any given time before it's just too much. Then there are people like Graham Linekin, and maybe to a lesser extent Ricky Gervais (since he's always been...outspoken), who used to create and write shows about lots of different things that they were interested in, but since their obsession with trans people began, their creative output has significantly dropped. It seems as though Graham mostly dedicates his time to writing articles whining about trans people existing. Don't really know what Gervais does nowadays, but from the sound of it his hatred of trans people is worming its way into more of his stand up stuff. It would almost be sad, if they weren't vile people.

I understand the worry of exposing kids to adult spaces too, but the truth is adult spaces will keep children out on their own (they’ll keep adults out too! I can’t perform at/visit half the drag venues I know of because I’m not of drinking age) and when it comes to the internet, what your kid has access to is your business, not ours. if anything, queer adult spaces are MUCH stricter with these rules than say, hooters, because we’re under ten times as much scrutiny. trust me, with the world already presuming that queer/trans people are groomers (another nazi talking point, who would’ve guessed) we‘re trying to provide as little ammunition to that crowd as possible

But if 4 years ago when the acceleration of anti-trans legislation started to kick in people had taken action, reproductive rights in many states would be in better situations. Because right wing legislators would either have lost their positions or be afraid to go after women's rights due to the obvious consequences faced when they went after trans rights. But liberals did little to nothing when it was the rights of a tiny and highly otherized group. And then lamented how they lost on Roe, are losing on labour, and losing on racial equality.
Liberals are unable and unwilling to construct a coherent historical narrative in their heads. Every event must be totally atomized and considered without context. A willing, pernicious, malignant ignorance. Otherwise they would have to confront their complicity and collaboration in the all-sorts of evils that under gird their life and position in society. And that would really harsh the vibe, man.
You're absolutely right. I've been working to make some family members understand how serious we need to take these extremists. There's no question what they want, and we must stand against their hate. On a different point, I have seen their threat framed as an attack on "body autonomy," a perspective which includes individual rights, self-determination, healthcare and privacy. For me gaining knowledge and perspective is helping me be a better advocate.
It's not about trans issues not being "important." They're critically important. It's just insanity to support an anti-woman, anti-science, anti-gay, anti-reality, anti-reason hate cult that sterilises children for being gay and/or autistic, and uses violence as a core tactic to silence critics.
@@erinmcdonald7781 I'm close to a bodily autonomy absolutist. I even support the rights of anti-vaxxers. Don't get me wrong, I disagree 100% with anti-vaxxers, think it's highly dangerous, and that consequences are absolutely reasonable. But I don't believe anyone should be mandated to or proscribed from doing almost anything to their body as an informed adult. In many ways I think it's the strongest argument for trans rights. But I don't think it's the most persuasive. Excluding truly hateful bigots and religious extremists, a more humanist approach I believe is more effective. I honestly use my own existence as my argument. I come out as a trans guy to ... everyone. And break the stereotype (widely untrue) of an overly sensitive, aggressive, extremist trans activist. And when I get comments like, "Wow. You are so chill. I thought trans people were all intense all the time," I grit my teeth, smile, and say, "Well that stereotype isn't very accurate. Let me know if you ever meet a trans person like that. I've never met one and I bet they'd be interesting." (Cue forced chuckle.) And yes, I have my moments of bitterness over it. That's the thing about her, she doesn't want people she perceives as men in women's spaces unless they're armed and willing to inflict violence, she doesn't want people she claims would groom children around, only people who have actually committed CSA, she will never ally with someone she perceives as an enemy unless their disagreement is over things that provably hurt and kill women including cis women.
Sending you lots of love ❤ I am so sorry you have to deal with all of that.
This sort of guilt tripping is so synonymous with humans who are so entitled and privileged, no matter the circumstances they want to bring up to ‘prove’ how they could never be privileged or entitled…
Learn to understand what *social standards* are, and why you think you are entitled for everyone to destroy their own foundations, and build those in your honor!

And of course whether or not someone is a Good Man or a Bad Man is readily apparent to anyone with "common sense."
The safety of women isn't even really that important here, it's just an excuse; it's about men finding a justification for inflicting violence against other marginalized men.
Translation: We are afraid of scary men in women's spaces so let's have ARMED SCARY MEN in those spaces.

This took place in the US, but one of my friends got harassed because she wore baggy clothes, didn't have makeup on, and had a chin dimple. That's literally it.
Apparently that's "manly" and she was "obviously trans".
Transphobes would be almost comically stupid if they weren't so dangerous.
@@pennyforyourthotswell they *are* comically stupid, but also incredibly dangerous (as fascists and neo-nazis tend to be)
These feminists accuse trans women of making a caricature of femininity but then turn around and judge the appearance of a woman who doesn't present in a feminine manner.
Aimee Toms I think was her name, a cis woman in CT, USA who was followed into the women's room by a man because he suspected her of being trans.

Uninformed, low-grade tanky nonsense.
@@lordhallibel3604well that's just simply wrong, it is a real thing. cis- is a Latin word meaning 'side of'.
also the bird is the word. word.

Something very telling occurred to me upon a rewatch of this:
You mentioned how many of the infamous images of the Nazis burning books were them burning books from Hirschfeld’s sexology institute.
Nazis burning books has always been a go-to image to illustrate the evil of the Nazis, visual shorthand for “don’t be like these monsters,” but as a shorthand image when it’s evoked it almost always (rather conveniently) overlooks exactly what books were being burned.
…I say “conveniently” as I watch the smoking tailspin the Republican Party is currently in here in the US, specifically regarding the recent reactionary push to ban books dealing with LGBTQ+ issues and culture on the grounds that it’s “pornographic,” “sexually explicit,” and/or “sexualizing our kids.”
My morbid curiosity can’t help but wonder how conservatives here in the US would react to the knowledge that the Nazis banned and burned books, which they are usually quick to acknowledge is bad, but the books they were banning and burning were about LGBTQ+ issues… which many of them are in favor of banning.

@@linagreenlyfe6705 1. to fascists, “normal” trans people dressing how they want and crossdressers/drag queens/kings are the same thing. for more information on this overlap I recommend researching the first trans clinic, magnus hirschfeld’s institute for sexual research, and how it was one of the first nazi targets
2. drag and burlesque, while often overlapping, are two different artforms. drag isn’t inherently sexual (and it doesn’t even require dressing up as a different gender) - all it is is a performance of something mundane heightened to a comedic level. sure, the mundane thing is often sexuality, but it can be literally anything. you could do a 100% sfw drag routine about grocery shopping if you elevated the concept enough
I understand the misconception that all drag is burlesque (and as a performer of both I definitely get it! there’s a lot of crossover), but the reality is a lot more complicated.

As a trans guy, thanks so much for your unrelenting, detailed, and unequivocal defense of trans people. It's so disheartening to see so many cis liberals and even leftists more than willing to throw trans people onto the fire in order to support more "important" issues.
I loved your very explicit connections between transphobia and other forms of bigotry. Because they _are_ all linked. The queer community has been talking, yelling, and even pleading with people to take our cause seriously. Not just for our own sake but because it's the lynch pin of accelerating human rights losses across the board.
Everyone was so horrified at the fall of Roe v Wade. I'm not saying that a stronger stance on trans rights would have changed that.
"I'm imagining some dark British future where the death penalty is brought back, and a transphobe is upset that she has to share a scaffold with me."
That's her. That's Kellie-Jay.
It's because it's almost guaranteed that she will never feel the consequences of the horrors if she would succeed. Worst case she uses her wealth to escape any country she helps destroy. Even if she can't, the wealthy tend to be shielded from the worst, enough money creates an exception for every law.
She's a Gilead wife. Signing her own death sentence. Signing away hard won rights.
It's not even a "definition" of the word woman, female just means the same thing as woman. It's literally a synonym. The hateful conservatives think they're soo smart with their "definition" but they're just using circular reasoning to try to justify their bigotry.
Something ive seen from lurking in terf spaces is that theyre all very aware of the violence trans people are met with, they celebrate it and even ridicule and shame other terfs who say that they shouldnt wish death on trans people. Unfortunately this woman is not an outlier in their community
Remember how happy Glinner was when he read the article about a trans woman being r*ped thousands of times in prison?
@@abitmorerationalhe is one of the single most chronically divorced people ever, and all for the sake of his own moronic bigotry.
@titush.3195
They celebrate it the same way people celebrate pdf files getting abused in prisons. It's just a reactionary need for retribution without even considering morality and consequences of allowing rpe culture to be fostered in prison system
Not to mention that trans people don't hurt others by just being trans so they deserve such a treatment even less
That's why those communities are so fun.
It really is telling that these bigots have no point when Kellie-Jay is advocating for armed men to enter women's spaces to "protect women". I hope that her followers will wake up and imagine the dystopia they advocate for.
sometimes it still occurs to me how j.k. is becoming more and more like the villains from her books and i think of how weird this timeline is
@@marj9847 you're physically violent.
Her Umbridge arc is coming up
I can't read her books anymore, because when I read something in that tone of voice all I can see is a sadistic-narcisstic bully of extreme cruelty. She was hiding it all this time, and she resents that deeply, that she had to pretend to be a good person.
@@fpedrosa2076 wdym she's been in the umbridge arc for years now
It’s so weird. I’m confident that if Voldemort really existed she’d be on his side, if not a full fledged Death Eater.
"I'm always right, and I always win!" "I'll stand with the devil himself!" "You will be annihilated!" Really leaning into the supervillain vibe
EDIT 48:37 "Say that trans women are women, and society's fine. Say they should be sterilized, SOCIETY GOES WILD!" I see the J in KJK stands for Joker
Honestly I'm surprised most modern authors don't use people like this for inspiration on their villains/antagonists
Keen misidentified a robot as a human being, ignored it telling her it was a robot, and argued with it as though it was a human and kept treating it like one. I just wanna point that out and emphasize it that way, because it's legitimately very funny.
How come she's so ready to treat a bot like a human, but not trans women like women?
Makes it even more ironic that she's so quick to dehumanise *actual people* 🙄
And this is Kellie ‘I’m never wrong about anything’ Jay, ladies and gentlefolk!
I am not surprised that she went to such great lengths to disbelieve someone telling her who they are
@@Gloomdrakebecause the bot claimed that it was a bot, and we all know how Keen doesn't like people saying what they are
So she's an anti-trans "activist" who deadnames trans people...but has a cringey pseudonym?
Gotta admit to struggling to get my head around that one.
i literally cacked out loud when i realised she literally has multiple names
honestly my theory is that half of anti-trans people are just in MASSIVE denial about being uncomfortable in their own bodies lmao
@@PH0B0PH1L1Aseeing as she's so unsure of being herself that she tries to look like Marilyn Monroe 👀😬 I'd say ur right
Posie Parker is such a cartoon villain name 💀💀
"These are dangerous narratives, not just for their effect on LGBT people, but because they work to obscure the much more common ways that abuse is often carried out"
*Thank you* Shaun, thank you so much for saying this clearly. The only way we will ever truly protect children from abusers is if we are honest about who those abusers actually are, and that is something that a great many people who ostensibly want to protect children shy away from or refuse to acknowledge, for purely unconscious emotional reasons.
The fact she can go from "keep ‘men’ in dresses out of women's spaces" to "men with guns, feel free to enter women's spaces whenever" smdh
And this is what makes it so clear that she doesn’t actually care about women’s rights, she just hates trans people. She doesn’t even care about women’s physical safety, and is willing to trade it to intimidate and endanger trans people
Apparently women are safe with men with guns but not safe with "men" with dresses. Who knew dresses were so powerful?
And it just shows her internalised sexism, why not armed (cis)women? She just trying to draw in the "traditionalist" types with the "man the protector" bollocks
Nothing about kjk seems legitimate or genuine, like it's so obvious I cannot see any way this isn't a grift
@@risky_busine55 It's all consistent with being a single-issue, determined trans eliminationist happy to have anyone suffer whatever collateral damage that takes - or someone with a broader (fascist) political program using the transphobia as her particular wedge to drive the fascism into more normal political spaces. Sometimes, the hate is about the hate more than the money.
My wife and I are both trans women. I'm comfortable, but she is emotionally fragile. She has talked about detransition for safety (her therapist and I have said we think it won't help but we'll support her whatever she does). Anyway, I watched the first half of this video in private but stopped it when she came home from work. She's pretty stable right now so listening to this...nice lady...is not ideal. Since I'm not watching the full video, I'll leave a comment to make up for the engagement loss.
Damn I'm really sorry, to have to not be who you are out of fear of safety. At least she has a loving wife and a good support system. Good luck to yall
You two stay safe and take care of each other! Even good content is still just content after all, it’s absolutely ok to set it aside for health!
Sending you strength :)
As of transitioning, two of my favorite quotes I've found are as follows, I hope they help.
"Transitioning didn't solve my problems, it made my problems worth solving"
and "Existing is resisting, never stop resisting".
I often fear for my life going out in public, especially bathrooms. I sometimes think of de-transitioning because of the social climate; but then I remember those quotes and I think about how miserable my life and motivation were before I started doing something about it and being true to myself. Stay strong
wishing you and your wife safety. it’s a scary time to be trans; it keeps me up at night.
Incredible how even in her wildest fantasies for the Trans Apocalypse, all she can imagine happening in this terrible dystopia is... people calling things the wrong name
I'm trans, and I just have to say that your unwavering support and hard work to defend us genuinely fills me with hope, even knowing the horrific people we are up against. Thank you so much for all you do ❤❤❤

A hallmark of a stupid person is that they think they know everything.
Hmm, I'd say she knows she's wrong is the thing.
A sign of evil, not intelligence.
The smarter you are, the more aware you are of how little you actually know.
@@Peasham Or sunk cost and she cant admit she was wrong. finances and fanbase probably helping.
But even worse if she knows she is just putting up an act or overreacts.
@@marocat4749 Well, when faced with facts she reacts like someone who knows they're incorrect, so that's what my money's on
Ironically, in making that statement, she was hilariously wrong.
So kids shouldn't have access to contraceptives AND abortions
Aka
She wants to force children to carry to term.
Insane.
Oh and they'll probably kill the baby anyways in someway, since we all know how pro-lifers are adamant about babies after being born
Yeah, that's basically what the Right wants by banning all those stuff.
Things gets way more evil when you consider they don't care about what happens to the baby after they're born or whether or not the kid survives the experience of childbirth.
Fascists, even the women among them, see women as little more than breeding stock
That also forces children with medical conditions to go without needed medicine. I need my birth control, for example, or my endometriosis causes me so much pain I can't get out of bed.
Not saying this is any more or less an issue, just adding it to the awful pile
Kids shouldn't need those things in a perfect world. I understand your point but you should be more accurate with your language because this comment can be easily misinterpreted by bad faith idiots
