- Learn to make your own mechanical puppets just like the Jim Henson company. These are the same techniques and design philosophy that master puppet makers have employed for decades and still use today.
In this lesson we will go over different ways to build blinking eye mechanisms for your project.
As a designer myself i have come across a number of amazing resources that have helped me learn and grow my skill sets. I hope you'll find this series as helpful as i have. This will also give me a break from videos since my equipment was stolen recently.

I bought this VHS over 20 years ago! Brings back memories.
Whilst I did find this video a little hard to watch, the ideas themselves were quite good. Even if I don't replecate them exactly, it has now given me a good starting point. Thank you.
Woooooow...Thanks a lot for this video dude...I'm working now in a puppet and I was crazy to find the right way, to eyes movement...This video helps me too much. Thank you so much!!!!!!😇🤗🤗
yes it is, for some reason its a carefully guarded secret :)
@@drneeel Yes ;)
This is brilliant!
great work 👏 success there friends 🤜🤛
Wow cool in going to try to remake a basic dummy with moving eyes
Excellent
Very interesting Video! Cool! Like!
Tks friend!
Now I have to figure out how to adapt an Ardunio servo to a deodorant ball! 😊
With your experience as a designer, how do you think I would go about attaching the 360 degree eye movement to a ventriloquist figure control stick? Any ideas?
Where can we find the other parts of this show please? 😮
hello, which one is the easiest controlling for starter?
i couldn't really say, the first one i successfully built was the blinking eye lids at 12:54. I controlled the mouth with my hand and had the blinking rod on one of my middle fingers. If you can i would build as many as you can just for practice and familiarity with the art.
What if it had two eyelids?
Was this made in thd 80's?
this type of quality scares me
It's like a 20+ year old video so😅 no 3D printing back then. No HD either.
I can't find roll-on deodorant like those at any of my local stores.
99cent stores have them or have had them for me in the past, also online retailers carry them.
I recommend buying a 3d printer if you want to take these seriously, you can print as much of these roller things as you need an you can get one for +-$120

Very good ideas, but that " 1960's - 5 sec pause after each paragraph ", is hard for people to watch. I just keep bumping the slider forward each time but I can't do that for more shows, so I can't subscribe. I will check back from time to time.
Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
