- (December 2023) Here is every elevator in every PARK Roanoke parking deck. Enjoy as we look at each garage, walk the steps to get a roof top view, and then ride each elevator in the garage. I still rewatch the Original Parking Garage Elevatour video with Jacob from back in the day before the modernizations to the Elmwood and Church Avenue Garage. Also the Hampton Inn was just being built on top of the Market Garage. Those were the days.

I feel like this should have been done, since the Elmwood Parking Garage elevator has door sensors that beep, just like the ones before Thyssenkrupp took over. I wonder if the numbers are back.

My favorite one is the church Ave garage because we all know that the first dieselducy show learned him to ride the elevator.

26:56 I’ve seen an elevator that serves the same amount of floors with a missing glass for the lantern. 30:10 that is a nice view and elevator. 30:32 I love old Dovers, and have never seen anything that nice. 34:41 despite the hotel, that can’t stop a beautiful view. 35:05 I’ve loved this elevator a long time (despite not seeing it in person yet). 42:20 I’ve always loved this view and elevator despite the mod and weather damage done. 43:46 that glass could use a lot of cleaning, but that doesn’t stop the amazing view. 44:12 too bad the inside floor indicator doesn’t work as well as it did. 45:38 this hydraulic elevator, from what I’ve heard is very unique because it’s a telescoping in ground

I have a really stupid question - why would they put an additional building (Hampton Inn) on top of an already existing parking garage (Market Parking Garage)? Wouldn't the add-on building be at risk of collapsing due to the Market Parking Garage's faulty structure heaven forbid there was a problem with the garage?
They had quite a few issues during the construction. Reason to put it there, is so the garage could generate tax revenue. As a city owned building it does not. The hampton inn has to pay property tax.
