I'm so sad that Bemmett didn't end up together. This makes me want to write a fan fiction where Bay and Travis break up mostly because of the long distance and then a year or two later Bay and Emmett get back together.
I'm not happy that Bemmett didn't end up together but I have to be thankful that they didn't do what Nashville did and killed off one of the characters. Rayna and Deacon from Nashville mean as much to me as Bay and Emmett do.
Same here and I also feel the same way with Scorpion! I really like Waige (Walter + Paige), of course they haven't gotten together yet and after tonight's episode is looks like Paige will no longer be apart of Team Scorpion, but we'll see. Season 4 is coming in the fall and things will possibly be sorted out in the next episode. I'm hoping...
To be honest, I thought this ending was really mature. There's always going to be that first love that you look back on. Bay went through a lot to get over Emmett and him asking for her back was not fair after everything they had been through. You move on, you learn from that relationship, and you love again. It just felt like real life, instead of forcing the two back together. Just my opinion. I still really like the video.
I love the idea of a second, more mature love for Bay, but I do not feel that is what we saw between Bay and Travis. Bay and Emmett's love still seemed far more mature to me. Plus, you are right. You do learn from relationships, and there is nothing wrong with loving the same person again and again and again. I felt that was the message that the writers were sending to us, when they chose to divulge that John had thought Kathryn cheated on him to produce Bay, and yet, he was willing to keep mum about it and simply accept Bay as his own. Cheating does not have to be earth-shattering or relationship-ending. Two people CAN share unconditional love and forgive each other for betrayals. If Bay's primary reason for staying with Travis is that he hasn't betrayed her (yet), I feel that is weak reasoning. The potential will always exist for any human being to betray or let you down, even for the most trusted person in the world. Our love for each other is only human, after all. Bay should be with the person she feels the deepest connection, and as the story was written, that is Emmett. I am glad that Bay and Travis were there to help each other overcome their feelings of sexual violation, but I do not see that as equivalent to the kind of connection Bay shares with Emmett. In real life, at some point, Bay would need to admit to herself that her connection with Travis is not enough.
I had mixed feelings about Bay and Travis, but I also didn't see Bemmett getting back together. I really believe she forgave him for cheating. You're right, stuff like that can eventually be overlooked. I think it was the long distance that hurt them the most.

Even if Bae didn't end up with Emmett, it isn't realistic for Travis to be her lasting relationahip. It never felt authentic always forced and it isn't mature like someone else mentioned. If they were going to break up Bemmett, Bae should have been single and if they wanted to give her a forever partner, they should have time jumped but not with Travis. I think the issue some are having with the end is that Travis and Bae are not realistic as an endgame. That idea seems forced on us. Travis and John are similar in many ways, but Bae is nothing like Katherine to allow Bae to have a comparison relationship. That's more Daphne. I got it: Travis doesn't seem like a viable and true relationship for the character of Bae.
It's like Bay with The Thing. Sure, she needed to sell her car now, to pay the bills, and yes, Bay drove Daphne's car to meet Emmett at Blue River Road one last time. But Bay isn't going to drive the "Daphne-mobile" (as she once called it) forever. Eventually, Bay will purchase another automobile, one that suits her personality and needs. Bay isn't going to spend forever with Travis either. Bay is too spirited for that relationship to last forever. Travis doesn't mesh with Bay.
Starting from season 1, I have always LOOOVVVEEEDDD Bay and Emmett! He was the whole reason why I started watching Switched At Birth! Sucks to say that they won't be making a season 6! I really wish they did and I really wish that bay and Emmett will come back together! I wasn't much fan of Bay and Travis.. but, #Bemmett will always be my favorite couple! ❤️❤️

Season 1 I thought they were so cute together and Emmett was so sweet, and throughout the whole series it was a love/hate with Emmett, but I always liked he and Bay together even though they had their problems, but I know deep down they were perfect for each other. Yes!! I watched the lasted episode and I cried, I really couldn't believe that this tv show ended! 😭😭 but at the end at how Bay looked at Emmett just.... I couldn't stop crying! 💔

And I don't think Bay and Travis have anything in common. Travis did not even want Bay to attend Carlton. He yelled and fought to keep her out of the school, even when Natalie was defending Bay. Travis's world revolves around sports. Bay doesn't like sports. You claim Travis is the safe choice. I'm the mother of a young girl, and I'd rather see her go for passion over security every time. My daughter can provide her own security. She doesn't need a man to do that for her. Life is short. She should reach for more than the safe choice. I like John Kennish's response when he thought Kathryn had cheated all those years ago. He chose to hide the truth and to continue loving both his wife and the daughter who is not biologically his own. That's unconditional love.

They became good friends. Those things do not automatically make for a "Love of your life" type relationship and they did not, believably, in this case. Emmett, for all his faults, was the love of Bay's life, and she was his. Until S4A, when I believe producers allowed Emmett to be written horribly out of character, Bay and Emmett supported each other unconditionally whether they were together or not. They had and I believe still have an unconditional love that transcends their hearing status and backgrounds. as a hard-of-hearing person with "mild" cerebral palsy, I understand the extraordinary love they have for each other. It takes a very special love to transcend, and I some sense, not see barriers or "disabilities"--I call them different abilities. Travis and Mary Beth were great together. Even Travis and Daphne had more in common. Travis in Bay had no chemistry at all and little except as you noted above in common. Producers tried to sex it up, but it fell badly flat.

In every season, Bay & Emmett can be found looking up at the stars together and contemplating their destiny. That is, until Season 5. Now, the family appears to be Bay's destiny and Daphne her soulmate, at least, according to Weiss. I don't buy the authenticity of that. It does not feel as though Daphne is Bay's soulmate to me. The writers did not do enough to sell me on that idea.
In Season 2, they are under the stars together at the Tolerance Retreat. Emmett is watching, as Bay has her showdown with Natalie. Then, Emmett goes to make s'mores, while Bay goes off to listen to music and look up at the stars with Noah. Also, in Season 2, Bay & Emmett watch their movie "Dawn of the Deaf" together, and in that movie, they are kissing passionately under the stars. As for Season 3, Bay & Emmett make love under the stars at Rivas Canyon State Park. The camera pans up, up, up as Bay & Emmett are making love together, just like it circles up, up, up in the last seconds of the series finale to the same song.

It feels like the writers were giving bemmett fans false hope early in season 5 It is just so sad Emmett did not have a bigger role this season and there was just not enough bemmett scenes. I just wonder why Lizzy Weiss threw bemmett away when they had something to special. I did not like the fact that Travis was in 9 episodes and Emmett only had 4. There has to be something that happened behind the scenes between Sean and Lizzy for her to do so much damage to his character the past two seasons.
Perhaps what I just posted is a weak connection for Season 2, but I feel that there was a very strong "metaphysical destiny" connection for Bay & Emmett in Season 3, especially when they made love under the stars. Also, early in Season 3, I remember Emmett watching Bay at field hockey practice under the stars. She approaches him, Natalie, and Matthew (sitting in the stands), and Emmett asks Bay if she wants to join them for pizza, and she does. And of course, later in Season 3, Emmett asks Bay to a "Star Party" where they sit on a blanket and look up at the stars together. Also, in Season 3, Bay & Emmett discuss the fact she has just broken up with Tank under the stars at Chrome. (And in Season 2, even though Emmett is not with Bay, I feel Bay's presence strongly on his mind, as he is sitting with his friends at Carlton, and they do the Deaf Rap together. Also, when Emmett learns that Bay is back with Ty, later in Season 2, Bay & Emmett share a meaningful look with each other, as he and Travis depart the outdoor showing of "Deafenstein" and Ty walks up to tell Bay he loves her for the first time--to which she smiles without returning the words.)
I think Sean Berdy might've chose to be in less episodes starting in season 4, it might not have been the writers' fault that Travis was in more episodes, really. I love Travis so much (as a character) but still didn't believe Travis & Bay had more than friendship feelings for each other. :P I really loved the finale, but I was really surprised and trying not to be too disappointed that Bay/Emmett didn't get a reunuion, didn't get back together. To me they left it pretty open ended and it was a relatively Bemmett-heavy finale considering they weren't endgame, and I really think the episode as a whole was satisfying and a happy ending for all characters...? Idk. Great song choices for the background here. ;)
I suspect the writers were upset they couldn't get more episodes and might've wanted to let Bay/Travis grow apart naturally, not messily, not leave Travis heartbroken, so they were all along planning for Bay & Emmett to be endgame, hence a lot of the hints and stuff, but ultimately they decided ending it this way would be kinder to all their characters?
Yeah I always liked Travis too but I had been so used to Ememtt being one of the main characters of the show the first few seasons and it was just hard to get used to Travis being in so many more scenes than Emmett. But I never knew that it might have been Sean's choice not to be in too many episodes. I had thought that the writers and Sean had a falling out seasons ago and that is why Emmett's character was damaged the last two seasons. I was very happy that Daphne and Mingo got back together. I am really going to miss this show.
I am going to miss the show, too, Gil. Sean Berdy did NOT choose to be in fewer episodes. In his own words, he wanted to make as much magic as he could on screen. In an interview, he even said that he was surprised by how quiet Emmett is after Season 2. Lizzy Weiss chose to take the story in a different direction. Epic fail on her part!
I haven't watched the finale yet but maybe because he wasn't in the show much this season they couldn't put them back together without it being unrealistic

5:04 I was really hoping it was going to lead to them getting back together, but unfortunately it didn't. :( 7:19 Wow! Emmett's got some dance moves. ;) 8:53 I was hoping this would be the fight that would push her to Emmett, but then once I realized that Sean Berdy was only on as Special Guest Star then I realized that there was 0 to little chance that we'd get Bemmett! The very end made me smile and cry at the same time! My gosh, all those clips towards the end made me remember when I loved this show and then to last season where I felt it was over dramatic and was beginning to get bored of the show, but the final 10 episodes were great, although the whole time I was pulling for Bay and Emmett to get back together, but oh well great final episodes anyway, and I had to restrain myself from crying when Bay and Daphine both laid down on the lawn to watch the shooting star.

I had a couple ideas I'd make if they got back together in the finale, and now that they didn't, I've kinda scrapped those ideas... but what I'm newly inspired to do, a "we're not endgame" kinda tribute, uh... the song is almost 8 minutes long? I'd probably be insane to try to vid the whole thing given my busy life and full time work schedule and everything else, but I kind of really really want to try to vid the entire song, because Bemmett certainly have plenty of scenes and if I pulled it off... I know it'd be epic lol.

I can understand this ending but nothing wrong with keeping them together. They were awesome. My first love stopped seeing me because I was a good girl. We have been together for over 7 years and engaged to be married. It's an awesome relationship. It would have been a perfect if they had got together and really showed people with his deafmess to overcome. It was just really sad not to see that.

I suspect the writers were upset they couldn't get more episodes and might've wanted to let Bay/Travis grow apart naturally, not messily, not leave Travis heartbroken, so they were all along planning for Bay & Emmett to be endgame, hence a lot of the hints and stuff, but ultimately they decided ending it this way would be kinder to all their characters?
Yeah I always liked Travis too but I had been so used to Ememtt being one of the main characters of the show the first few seasons and it was just hard to get used to Travis being in so many more scenes than Emmett. But I never knew that it might have been Sean's choice not to be in too many episodes. I had thought that the writers and Sean had a falling out seasons ago and that is why Emmett's character was damaged the last two seasons. I was very happy that Daphne and Mingo got back together. I am really going to miss this show.
I am going to miss the show, too, Gil. Sean Berdy did NOT choose to be in fewer episodes. In his own words, he wanted to make as much magic as he could on screen. In an interview, he even said that he was surprised by how quiet Emmett is after Season 2. Lizzy Weiss chose to take the story in a different direction. Epic fail on her part!
I wish that was the reasoning behind the writer's decision, but it was nothing that noble. I really do wish that it had been.

I haven't watched the finale yet but maybe because he wasn't in the show much this season they couldn't put them back together without it being unrealistic
Yeah there wasn't enough time to bring them back together especially him only being in 4 episodes.

IAM still pissed about her they did bay always her that had the bad part for a love ASL storyline at the end everyone though ty was her frist love and said Emmett was I believe that as the story cuz ty was abutt hole he got her work up after he found out she was still a virgin she was feeling hurt from Emmett so it was easy for ty and then act like he cheated he should have been a real man and told the truth he tried but not hard enough

5:04 I was really hoping it was going to lead to them getting back together, but unfortunately it didn't. :( 7:19 Wow! Emmett's got some dance moves. ;) 8:53 I was hoping this would be the fight that would push her to Emmett, but then once I realized that Sean Berdy was only on as Special Guest Star then I realized that there was 0 to little chance that we'd get Bemmett! The very end made me smile and cry at the same time! My gosh, all those clips towards the end made me remember when I loved this show and then to last season where I felt it was over dramatic and was beginning to get bored of the show, but the final 10 episodes were great, although the whole time I was pulling for Bay and Emmett to get back together, but oh well great final episodes anyway, and I had to restrain myself from crying when Bay and Daphine both laid down on the lawn to watch the shooting star.

I had a couple ideas I'd make if they got back together in the finale, and now that they didn't, I've kinda scrapped those ideas... but what I'm newly inspired to do, a "we're not endgame" kinda tribute, uh... the song is almost 8 minutes long? I'd probably be insane to try to vid the whole thing given my busy life and full time work schedule and everything else, but I kind of really really want to try to vid the entire song, because Bemmett certainly have plenty of scenes and if I pulled it off... I know it'd be epic lol.

I can understand this ending but nothing wrong with keeping them together. They were awesome. My first love stopped seeing me because I was a good girl. We have been together for over 7 years and engaged to be married. It's an awesome relationship. It would have been a perfect if they had got together and really showed people with his deafmess to overcome. It was just really sad not to see that.
