I can just see rusty saying, "it scares me but I trust you Blake". While he stands there while you rub the rope over him. I just find it so inspirational to watch. I rescue dogs these days but I love that gaining an animals trust. I have been that way my whole life. I can see that love and passion in Blake. But most importantly the animals see it. The families devotion to helping these animals is so inspiring. Keep up the good work Palmer Family. ❤️❤️

Blake did an awesome job on desensitizing. I desensitized my mare's filly from day one. I enjoyed working with the filly. By the time the first vet visit and dental procedure were done, Angel O'Steele was the best filly ever. Then the farrier came, she was good for that too. That was the first time I had ever desensitized a foal. Never a horse. A city kid who always wanted a horse. I can't wait until I see the other parts of desensitizing.

Good morning. Wet and nasty in central Texas this morning. Rusty is looking good, be a lot better after you get him cut.

Blake there's no doubt you're gonna be an outstanding horseman. You're better than most already. Keep up the good work. Here's a tip that I got from an ole timer one day when I was almost tossed on my head for leaning over to foot my stirrups. Which is no problem on a broke horse but the greenies could getcha. Anyway he said "when you finish a ride and put your saddle on a stand, if you'll turn the stirrups in and run a broom handle or something similar through both stirrups to hold them just past square with the saddle it will train them to be where they should be when your ready to slip your feet into them" . It works brother and you don't risk getting flipped off on the back of your neck lol

I never tire of watching Blake work with the horses. I never knew what all went into training a horse. I find it fascinating. I have loved horses since I was a little girl, but never had one of my own. It looks like y’all had a great Thanksgiving. Blessings, Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇺🇸👍❤️🥰🙏🙏

Hi, Palmer family. I feel like I'm a broken record when I speak about Blake and his uncanny ability with horses. I could watch him for hours just working with horses. He is so patient with them. I've seen Blake working on desensitizing other horses, but this one was really sensitive and skittish, wasn't it? As always, take good care on the farm and stay well.

@@TheFarmonRoute66 I guessed Bishop from what I have picked up in some of the videos. I like how you represent the faith great examples one of the reasons I enjoy the channel seeing a family first program is so refreshing in today's world. I am newer to horses and have a pregnant mare that is why I reached out to you for some advice. It is obvious you know what your doing.

Oh did you try letting the horse step on the plastic broom to see it not painfull?
I had a mare afraid of everything and when I let her step on it she realized it nothing.

Our haulters have a loop we feed the rope thrw the loop after you bring it around the hind end above the hocks.
Use like a lead it pulls bottom as you hold close to haulter wish I could draw a picture.
But your ok . your haulter not have a loop.

If that was a hot blooded horse he would have pulled away from you and opened up his shoulder on the feeder. You are skiping the first steps. Get in the round corral and put your paper bag on the ground in the center at your feet. Begin tapping the bag leave it on the ground. Let the horse circle you. When he will turn and face you with both eyes then stop tapping the bag. Now put a cloth on the end of your stick and begin your desintizing. Go all over him with the cloth. He is kicking at the sound of the paper. When he is ready then put the paper on the stick. It might take a while to get him to be OK with the sound of paper. If you are going to tie him up us a tie ring. YOur object here is to communcate to him that he is not going to get hurt. Tieing him up solid will tell him that you are going to hurt him. A hot blooded horse will not stand for a rope on his feet yet. Work up to it in steps with cloth and stick and string.
