The HK MP7 is one of those firearms many people want but HK simply won't sell to Americans. That means companies like Farrowtech must step in and make something to scratch that itch for would be HK MP7 owners. It's based on the Keltec CP33.
I literally today thought, "I wonder when we'll start seeing the Mp7 at home in videos."

It happens to me too.

The PSA X5.7 is gonna be the gun that finally convinces me ti buy into 5.7. Glad to see such a cool aftermarket for KelTec though.
Niiiice!!
Can't wait for the X5.7
The m-lok slots are thicker than spec. So you can’t use things like the Kinetic Development Group quick attach pic rails, but the standard threaded m-lok stuff works just fine. I think he did it so it would be strong enough with the 3d printed material. He did use glass fiber reinforced nylon so it should be pretty strong. I can tell you does feel well made for what it is. It doesn’t feel cheap like so many 3d printed products. Holding zero shouldn’t be a problem either. The whole top part of the chassis fits tight and screws into the threaded holes for the original front and rear sights.
I bought 2 and am really happy with them. One rides on the seat of my jeep everyday, and I use it to shoot various varmints and pests around the farm. It replaced the other CP 33 that has been there for years with the first brace adapter he made for them. Works great and is definitely the best brace or stock chassis on the market for the CP 33. He also makes a +17 mag extension for it that brings the capacity up to 50. It comes with a different spring and everything. I only load mine to 40 ~ 45 because the springs are new and that seems to work well. Any more and loading gets pretty tough. Great fun, highly recommended.
The X5.7 is NOT a chassis for the rock. It is it’s own individual firearm, but does utilize some of the existing rock components
Do firearms exist outside of fiction?
You mean like it uses the entire slide, barrel and recoil assembly that attaches to a different lower with the same trigger system? Yeah, it's a chassis just like the Flux chassis is a Sig complete upper on a different lower.
@@MilitaryarmschannelPSA themselves at SHOT said their floor model shared a ton of parts with the Rock, as a proof of concept. That the production would be a bit more proprietary.
No one knows since they only barely developed the prototype. So even PSA doesn't know what the final product will be.
There's also the CMR30 as the MP7-at-home, 22WMR
Never understood why they don't make pistol version of CMR30..especially during the brace craze years ago.
@@Mryodamiles PMR30? Or maybe I am mistaken, I have a CMR 30 In Canada, had to get the mags pinned in the US before shipping, none are here for sale! :P
Keltec should make a version of cp33 in 22mag, they already have cmr /pmr 22mags that could be for that. Using this kit on that would literally be the mp7 at home.
I know a guy that used an mp7 a bit overseas and he disliked it in a major way. He said he literally had to almost empty the mag to get the job done.
I’ve heard the same thing. It’s essentially a step up from a 17HMR.
Targets wrapped up in wool blankets were effectively bulletproof against the 4.6 rounds.
Yep. Apparently it's a mag dump for DRT.
If only someone would make it in 5.7mm - nah, that will happen lol.
Nope
@@VK6AB- Yep
22 long rifle ain't no joke it is a very deadly round and i used it in my work many years ago.....Thanks Mac....
Old Shoe🇺🇸
looks like a fun little range toy. i have many myself.
I’m pretty sure that Palmetto said their MP7 clone isn’t a chassis system
Its never coming…
They said it's a rock slide & barrel ... they just enclosed it and added a reciprocal charging handle. So the same crappy reliability as the Rock ... to cheap from defense to expensive to plink ... seems like a waster. If they made a real PDW that was reliably I'd buy ... I'm 99% sure it's just a chassised Rock57
Palmetto’s clone is not a chassis system whatsoever. Certain parts from the Rock have been used in it, but it will be its own firearm designed from the ground up.
@@redkingsman3052 "Clone" is a strong word. It's not an Mp7 clone, it's not 4.6mm, it doesn't have curved magazines it doesn't look like an MP7 and it won't have a sophisticated gas piston blowback like an H&K. If it WAS a nice PDW that was reliable with a real piston system, I'd buy one. PSA doesn't make such stuff tho, they are like keltec, range toys that would be awesome "real guns" if they were reliable but they aren't ...they just aren't the same as legacy mil-spec European manufactures that have 10's millions of dollars, 100 years of experience, develop a single gun for 10 years, torture test them for 10,000's of hours & have them pass military certification
i love my ft7 kit well thought out and makes the gun more fun to shoot
Do you think you can ever do a gun review of the FB Grot and answer if it's the best war rifle in use today? No one has done it save omm
They need to make a chassis for the PMR30; that is way more realistic than anemic 22lr.
I have been playing around with my kit for a while. I love it. Makes the gun way more practical to use.
I wish I had gotten the Zmod version instead of the pro. I will be SBRing mine. It’s needs that foregrip and the stock to complete the look.
I have zero desire for the Tommy built T7 clone or the PSA57 gun. Cool concepts but I am way too invested in 9mm. If B&T came out with a TP9 that took normal suppressors so I could use my existing cans I would get one of those in a heart beat.
I ordered the FT7 kit a few weeks ago, took about 10 days to show up. Unfortunately it came cracked, almost a month later and I’m still waiting for replacement parts. Definitely would not recommend based on my experience which is disappointing as I was looking forward to this kit. My subset is one so hopefully it was just a lemon and the replacement is better…if it ever shows up.
You will get used to the quad stack mags. Or shell out the money for the loader. And keltec has a 17 rnd extension to give you a full 50
What is the attraction to the H&K MP7? Honest question, not disrespecting the gun.
Mostly, it’s because we can’t get one
Also because of video games and action movies
It's unobtanium. Captain Commando Coolguy LARP.
I got one of these and love it
An upside of .22's penchant for duds, misfeeds, rimlocks, etc, is that it gives you a chance to practice real remedial actions. Not just taps and racks, but how to deal with a firearm that may even have a live round in the chamber when something weird happens. Of course any malfunction can be dangerous if not handled correctly, but I'd rather learn some lessons on a .22lr over a rimmed Desert Eagle or a Coonan or something. Or any other caliber I suppose.
The worst malfunction I've had personally is when I was about 13 I think, I was shooting my Dad's duty gun, which at the time was a Glock 23. I guess a case got stuck in the chamber, but the entire rear got torn off and ejected, and then a live round got fed partially into the now open cylinder of the stuck case. Thankfully I had a cleaning rod for a .30 caliber, and I was able to kind of hammer it out, but it took quite a bit of effort. I've heard of people getting a similar malfunction, also with .40 cal oddly enough, but I've never personally seen anything that bad before or since. I might've been shooting a bag of reloads that the range guy at the police academy made, but I don't remember, it was a long time ago.
I was talking to ex secret service agent he said they went away from the p90’s because the 5.7x28 round was deemed to be insufficient but they still use mp5’s though 🤷♂️
Full auto P90 with LE only ammo is insufficient? That's sad but very believable.
“Tommy built Perfect Replica” 😂
An MP7 like gun in .22 is actually a really great idea. Why spend 10x the money on ammunition for the same kind of fun.
Yep kinda like the Umarex replica mp5 and HK416.
Umarex should do a .22lr mp7.@@adrn-re4ll
I would be more interested if the conversion kit fit a PMR-30. However, I have a KelTec P-17 that has been flawless in the time I've had it. It drops in a jacket or vest pocket (okay, it's an outdoor vest) & accompanies me on my walks along the creek with my dog in the event I run into an aggressive poisonous snake or a tasty rabbit or squirrel.
Did you file the bolt catch down to get the bolt to release?
A compact chassis that would work with the M&P5.7 and the Ruger would find a market niche to squirm itself into. Something less... bulky than the macaroni.
Rock island needs to make some of their superior 22 tcm conversions for the keltec cpm 33.
😁
The MP7. Between the caliber and platform, I can't name a firearm I could care any less about.
That's me and the AR and .556
But that's because I live in CuckStralia where we don't have guns or gun crime.
Oh wait. We have both. Thanks MSM for those lies.
It's "couldn't care less" not "could care less". At least it right if you're gonna be a dick about it lol.
@@dagwood5041dont correct someone and be wrong about it. Take your time and sound it out. The way he said it was absolutely correct.
ur slow or what?@@dagwood5041
why get a 3rd party-upper and go with .22lr when you can cut down the barrel of a KelTec CMR30?
Can do what?.. sounds like much extra paperwork or many insistent door kicks inbound.
2 questions sir. Have you run it with .22lr Hollow Points at all? Curious about that rapid fire reliability. And I have that same Desert DPM "windshirt". What's the Patch on your.Right Shoulder? Thanks for a for a great vid and great Info.
@militaryarmschannel, you kind of mentioned in the video that there wasn’t any change in reliability how many rounds have you put through it so far?
use a mag loader you will get a lot less rimlock then loading by hand
I wish Kel-Tec would make a version of the PMR-30 that uses the CP-33 style of frame so a conversion like this could be made for a more potent caliber.
Bring back the Uzi series IWI. Full, mini, micro.
They really need to
That would be a sweet little groundhog and squirrel slaying gun
I dont understand the point of this over a stock cp33. How does it make the gun better? Its uglier and heavier with the addon.
Farrowtech led to believe on reddit they were making something for the PSA Rock when PSA announced the 57 at home, they'd better hurry up though
Have used the uzy in the past and it was very clunky but accurate.
you own 2 and haven't bought a cheap easy / speed loader? Been common knowledge for a while now that they almost eliminate any magazine related issues with feeding. I haven't rimlocked at all since loading with a speed loader.
And one for the AlGoreRhythym!💪🤙🇺🇸
PSA Has one coming to the market that is going to blow all the rest out of the water.
I am pretty sure it won’t blow an actual HK MP7 from Tommy Built out of the water
@@Sig_P229 have fun finding ammo while everyone else shoots for cheap.
@@1nfamyX that’s a separate argument. Don’t say a 3D printed wannabe will blow an actual MP7 out of the water. That makes no sense.
@@1nfamyX that’s a separate argument than authenticity.
@@Sig_P229 no one mentioned authenticity. Ppl dont want a 1:1 mp7. Ammo is unobtainium & ballistics are basically the same. Parts will be expensive.
What PSA is making is what most ppl want, "hence blow the others out of the water".
For the price of that kit, I will stay with the cheek technique
Your reviews are the most substantive of all the gun reviewers on youtube. More than just talk and trigger pulling, you disassemble the guns and show their pros and cons. One suggestion for the CP33 is to use a mag loader as, for me, that makes it a lot easier to properly stack all those .22 rounds.
I notice you use Lucas Oil CLP, as do I. They make excellent products for automotive and firearm use.
great video !
which top cover plate and end plate are on your rig?
Very nice and interesting Definitely
I think the cp33 should have been built using side charging handle.
I also the pmr 30 would be a better platform for Mp7 knockoff.
I own both cp33 and pmr30. Both are great plinkers and the pmr30 is my hiking/backpack gun.
It would be nice if they offered an aftermarket charging handle at least to get it that last little bit. I've found that if I keep it lubed and or charge it pointed down. My only complaint with it
When is the new MPT/Sarsılmaz Factory video coming?
I was all in until you mentioned Keltec.
Now I have to re dress my my cp 33😮😊😊😊. Thanks
A good friend has the CP33, and it can't make it through a full magazine. It jams constantly.
You got my hopes up when I read "mp7 at home"...... Then my heart sank as soon as you mentioned it was in .22 lr. Very disappointing.
Better than 4.6 mm
@@Aphabet21are you talking 22mag?
I lost any and all interest the moment he said 22
Yeah, then when he was pointing out a thing that was just purely cosmetic to make it look like the mp7 with no actual functional benefit and even worse detrement, like the magazine floor plate... It was like twisting the knife 😭😆
@@zedhiro6131 no. 22 lr is better for many reasons. It’s a bigger round than 4.6mm, and more potent. I can’t tell you how many operators say you have to pretty much mag dump everything into one dude to stop him. It’s also cheaper by far and way more plentiful. If I’m gonna have to mag dump anyways, I’d just used some stingers, velocitors or federal punch
I have chased after many firearm fads and desires. Now I am old and will just watch and see where this one goes. 😂
I seem to remember HK putting out advertisements in the late 80s and early 90s telling people to fight for the fact that their HK firearms were sporting rifles, and to contact thier local and federal politicians to fight the impeneding "AWB". People give them alot of guff for not putting out certain products here now, but how many people will really pay HK prices other than legitimate collectors with disposable income for a semi-auto MP7 that you can't even get AP ammo for? Hk doesn't want the expense of tooling up for production for a firearm that may not sell well. Everyone will say "oh I'll buy one, but in reality not many people will actually buy a semi-auto MP7, especially if it's a pistol that requires NFA paperwork to convert or has a 16 inch barrel.
In the last 30 years, H&K has moved from being a good company, to something owned by a British firm that has extensive government connections beyond behind a contractor. What they did in 1994 is irrelevant, and bitching about it tells me you're real special.
I need to see a Krink video & of course, the STG44 sense that was your OG YT name.
“I want one but they’re over 3k” *proceeds to cut in front the line, buys them all then scalps them on gunjoker*
We havent forgotten about the Dragunovs
I’m undecided at to whether H&K won’t sell the MP7 on the U.S. civilian market because they don’t think us simpletons can “handle it,” or whether the firearm secretly sucks so bad that H&K thinks only formal military units & their general familiarity with fubar firearms can “handle it.”
Has the MP7 ever been considered “successful?” Or is it just a cool looking gun that’s only desirable because it’s unobtainium?
just wish H&K didn't treat US civilians like crap instead
Hk hates you
it has more to do with the ATF import crap
@@stg4478 And guess what? HK has a factory in USA and already produces a lot of their guns there.
@@TheRealEtaoinShrdluhow so, elaborate
Wrong. You are all wrong. It has to do with GERMAN exports
Ah yes, the tactical squirrel terminator...
I get the .22 look-alike on guns you can't get. But for the cost I want a better base .22 to start with and a better product from the dress up kit. I still think some of the clone .22 manufacturers could do better without having to buy another pistol and dress it up without being too far off on the cost. I think GSG or another reproducer could do better as a stand alone manufacturer.
I absolutely LOVE PSA giving HK a b*tchslap by making a MP7 in 5.7
Anyway, awesome video.
Tim Have you looked into the flux defense raider yet ? think you would really like it 👌🏻

Gonna be the year of non-HK Mp7s, I can feel it.
My biggest dealbreaker is that there’s no ability to actually use a suppressor and that they don’t make a pistol brace version.

I was looking at building one of these last night😂😂💀
Due to PCC’s and rifles getting shorter and handier with each passing year, HK better step up their marketing and R&D approach or they’re gonna get left behind.
The title is very accurate 😂
The MP7 was a disappointment regarding penetration. Gwads wrapped in a regular wool blanket were protected from the 4.6
Gwads?
Why is nobody talking about the Ghost Gunner 3 machine scam? They took $500 deposits on these machines promising to deliver them Q1 of 2021, and still nobody has received a machine, and they refuse to refund anyone's deposit.
Yeah, but i want a piston driven PDW
In a cool caliber
Anddd stopped watching at 22 LR, a bullet that works sometimes.
Does it come with bolt action, a 10 round mag, longer barrel and fixed stock for the Australian market????😂
We need to start penalizing companies like HK. If they don’t sell civilian equivalents of their catalog in the US then they don’t get government contracts anymore
You having to lube the ammo is a red flag for me.
No thanks. Bought a Farrow Tech brace adapter for my Ruger Charger .22 Very poor looking 3D printed part. Gave it away and ordered Copper Customs brace adapters for the 1913 brace and a second one for the buffer tube version. Blown away by the quality! Thanks,CC.
Would love to see a binary trigger for this!
That MP-7 just doesn't do it for me. Maybe it's because of H&K in general
As long as it isn’t by PSA 👍
