Youtub limits you to only thumb up but I'd like to give it two thumbs up. One for the simple and clear hat mount instructions, another for demonstrating it after the installation. Good job dude. You're really cool.
Simple enough but ONE DUCK DIVE and its all for nought...was hoping he'd explain how to use shoe laces or sth to keep that hat glued to your head throughout a barrelling session....
worked perfect thank you i will be using this for hunting quail tomorrow i tried to use the head strap and wear a hat at the same time just to uncomfortable.... you could make these and sell them on ebay just a thought lol
I'm planning on making one of these. The only problem I have, is that I need to add a power pack to run it for most of the day and I'm not sure what's the best way to do that...
If you do this easy mod just mount it closer to your head on the bill. Think of it like a spring diving board the further out you go the more spring and bounce you will get in your footage. It also weight the cap down. Ditch the crude hex bolt and shop for a proper tripod mounting screw with a large flat head and single slot. You can use a nickel to tighten and have a cleaner lighter installation. The screw found in this clip works perfectly, just remove the 1/4" - 20 stew from the plastic clip and it works super well for ball cap bills! This really gives you a great point of view shot. If looking for the complete setup, check this out. Mount to any cap, no drilling, and weighs in at 4 ounces. See it here... www.MyCapCam.com

Tom, you're my hero!!! I can finally ride my bike and record footage!!
It's better than using a helmet while riding the in downtown!
Great Stuff! Thanks. Just using a Go Pro for the first time this coming weekend and trying to find out ways to mount it! Polar Plunge Time!
These are sick Thomas!!!
Great idea, easy to make and also cheap.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing this tip. I was just wondering how to easily mount a camera without using a headband.

+Walter Wiggins glad it worked well for you!
Thanks, great idea! Fish On!
Nice video Can I ask how long the screw in centimeters or millimeters
I did it with 3 tiny screws right into the mount plate,,,,simple...yours isnt going to snap of and on...have to use the screw
Hey tom do you have to wear your hat tighter with the cam ???? Cause I can't stand my hat too tight.
great idea. Thanks
thanks for posting.
Thank you. Very nice
That's exactly why I made this video! People like you. ;)
mount the go pro as close to the centre of the hat as possible, this gives the least amount of torque on your head and the cap will stay on better.
can you still do it if you dont have a flat bill?
Yeah just make sure the gopro is on the flattest part of the brim
thanks you very muth for this
+Vincent Bol easy to do!
Project for work this week. Lol
ye really bequase im freerunning its realy good to juse
What length 1/4" bolt did you use?
3/4 worked for me. You don't want longer than that.
