one of the most under-rated albums of the rave scene, not to mention the breaks genre. expert track selection, perfectly mixed.
Why does the mixing always go so unnoticed, it seems? Always has... for example; for me, Max Graham Transport 4 has some of the most mind blowing mixes ever. 2-3mins straight! Progressive trance, so it made sense but dammit, it was so impressive to me.
Thats always been the case. The void between the noise. Speakers coming alive and breathing
Was in Daytona Beach 1999 New years eve when Icey and baby Ann caved in the ceiling with those insane bass drops
Anyone remember soul rays

Still holds up. From an old head.
Grand Canyon suite was super dope
Wow! Im 52! I had to refresh my memory!!
Fellow 27 year ago started break Dj'ing and scratcging an flaring and crabbing. I found my God given talent back the. What treat to hear this fantastic set at 4am Homey!! Playa stay up🤙
dj icey the best
I LUV THS MIXX
Was in the underground rave scene,1997-00, FL. This mix was the "hits" of the scene at the time. We played it at parties, getting ready to drop house and trance, DJs battled. FL breaks went awesome with everything we were spinning at the time. Great mixes, great vibes for sure 😊
Grew up in New Orleans/Tampa and partied from the tender age of 15 in '95 til about '99 when I got busted slangin. Wouldn't take any of it back but prolly wouldn't do it again. I do however miss the music and the vibe. Adulthood just doesnt come close.
Haik i was there ybor city til about 2002 I moved but we went every weekend partied like hell enjoyed it still listen to the music makes me feel good
Seriously, the best break dancers. I've ever seen was when Icey was spinning!
Good morning Orlando BOOM
I called myself a DNB fan until a friend introduced me to the funky breaks and the essential mix....from there I was a breaks man through and through....thanxs for the life Iceman

This mixed cd still gives chills down my spine!!! 😊
Seriously Icey. You are my most favorite of all time!
I'm from the Bay area and we've had a lot of good DJ's, but you have been always one of the best.
Kinda weird how you almost feel like you're rolling again huh....?
What do you mean by, “almost”?
I like a woman that rolls
@@openeyedguy Who doesn’t…?

So much time has passed we are old now but the Dirty rolls never die always a go to when I'm on some fire

I used to groove at the edge every Wednesday and Friday night in the early 90's
Good times

True Art of ,, Early Techomusic '' 🔊🔊🎶🎵👯💃👯 Turn Up the Bass!!!! This sound was so important for the forthcoming scenes of House and Techno in Europe ❗❗
Timeless awesome stuff!!!! Oldschool will never die ❗
Like a really fine grape vine icey roots grow on till the break of dawn.
At 49:29 is the best track in here!!!! Brings back memories raves back in 93
I gotta go with genocide as my favorite on this one.
Forever breaks
Darel Stanton's rear truck almost touched my lip when he did the highest frontside flip I've ever seen while I was standing on the deck a quarter at the sutf expo in the Orlando convention center circa2001. That made my high-school experience more enjoyable
Saw a few skate lair shows around the same time.respectfully electric horse
My first rave based on this right here!!!!
Some of the best breaks on Earth
this is so me! thanks
This song has motivated me to go skateboarding more times than #.
this was the day, it took me to high level
Funny bones, Jones ! It’s the joint
29:26 is my favorite part! This whole mix is dope but that part brings back memories!!
That break raised the room. It elevated the mind. Clean uppers, dirty downers, it didn't matter as long as it was a triple stack
Dope album memories!!! thank for the upload..;-]
One of the best ever
This was my first ever Techno CD and still to this day is my favorite of all times. Hands down without a doubt this mix by ICEY is the Real Deal Holyfield of Florida Breaks.
Oh yes that's finest Art of Oldschool 👍👯💃
It's not techno . It's breaks
I'm curious what other people's definitions of techno music are. If I would've typed electronic music & not techno music would I have gotten a reply back that said Breaks? Techno music & Electronic music to me mean exactly the same thing. Techno is Electronic just as Electronic is Techno & actually this Album isn't just a Breaks album for anyone who feels the need to get technical about my comment & has a perceived thought that I'm lacking the knowledge in the music I'm commenting on. Doesnt the fact that I ended my comment with the word Breaks leave me some room from needing to be corrected? Funky Breaks or Florida Funky Breaks is the technical & correct reply that should've been typed but sure Breaks works to I guess. I'm not very good at punctuation so if anyone feels like they absolutely must correct my run on sentences and misplaced nouns and pronouns and commas and surely adjectives than go for it. Such a great Techno album this one is
@@quinnsdaddy476 Techno is a different genre. You know that apparently! Jesus Christ if it hurt your feelings I’ll delete it.
@@jonny3801 No Jonny M that was not intended to flow in your direction sorry for the confusion no hard feelings about my words hopefully since hey weren't directed in your area code.
Love ❤️
Haven't heard this in YEARS...
Summer 98,brought Florida breakbeat to my Midwest home-20 at the same time Icey was breaking out.
Dude could've owned
North America for 2 yrs had parties not been outlawed in 00.
They weren't outlawed just had to look harder for them. Every 2 days there was one somewhere in central Florida. Started going in '95 while in highschool and continued thru college. Graduated in '02 and parties were going heavy and hard still then. Me not so much, gave up the drugs and parties to focus on work. Wouldn't trade a moment of any of it. They're super foggy and hazy but have amazing and fond memories from those times and still to this day have friends I made at those parties.
Yeah they still had them in DC every weekend till 2006 like 7 years after fox 5 investigated then just became mainstream but you have always been able to find parties if you look around. But I was going hard in the paint from 97-01 then jumped back in on and off up till 15 always could find a party
They need to have a Zenfest and bring back everyone that spined through the years!!!!;
CandyLand was 1st time i saw Icey live & 1st time i trolled also...
Freaking memories bro
💊💊😜😜
Candyland is stl? If so thst was my best friends birthday party who brought hik n thru the party. So fuckin fun!
"Yeeeah, i like this." Thats the song. When one eye is shut and the other one is vibrating side to side from rolling so hard and he starts saying that , its like your in a movie, and your the star
Omg I loved those days! You described it perfectly!
When weed was still illegal and u had to really no someone and it was still a serious matter
OMG!! That was actually so very well put!! I must say!! F$&k man how I miss those days!! It wouldn’t be the same, because you had to be in that time range/period, as from the mid nineties on to maybe 2004… if even that late. The time where that funky house and disco house was at its best!! That sound, and how the DJ could build up a song and blow up right at the exact same time your dose hits!! LOL, Anyway…. Sorry for my lame post/comment, reply, Wtv… I can just relate to what you said is all. Lol. :)
I was there 2002....dj icy is à trip
Othman Lahlou u weren't anywhere. This is not a live mix dood. Hate to break it to ya. Break to the Dance blows this outta da water.
Richard Matthew Jr I only object to the break to the dance part lol.. But shit different strokes fa different folks right?

Too many advertisements. 😔I'll watch another channel that doesn't allow the ad. Thanks tho💚💫🤗
The first 4 or 5 songs on this mix are hard af but it really drops off after "Reflex Speed." Still a nice mix tho and that Orinoco Flow sample in the Rebel MC song is low key genius.
I used this album dor. My fiest tryout tape w its automatic 123455678 bass drop that .
Reminds me of shit getting real weird at Ozone in Tmpa.
i was there in the mid 90's. Remember cops coming in and searching everyone. My friend was selling punching balloons filled with Nitrous. LOL
Nathan Marshall yea, we used to go out on the little patio out back and buy nitrous balloons when the sun would start coming up, after rolling our faces off all night, real smart huh. I remember there was alittle convenient store across the street where we would stop n grab water or cigarettes on the way back to Sarasota. We’d see normal people in there getting coffee on their way to work, and I’d always feel like the biggest loser, all dirty, smelling like Vick’s lol. I was there when it got raided once too. Good to hear from someone else that was there and it wasn’t just a weird dream. That place was hard core.
Peakin buddy!!! Loved to have a pretty girl to hug on and roll with back then.
Funny how they let it go on for so long and then decided to raid clubs.
Same thing happened in the Midwest.
i like . 2019
