I don't know what the experts would say but I always soak my fruit overnight in whisky and orange juice (with a little cinnamon) and then bake as Catherine does in this video. And, I think you can use brandy to soak and to feed it until Christmas instead of whisky as well.
I think Catherine Laysen is a Brilliant Baker, And her recipes are easy to follow, I'm sure she does tidy up when she has put her cake or whatever she's made in the oven.
You do realise she has to hurry as it's a daytime talk show, not a cooking channel show. When she used to teach she as extremely clean while she did her work
I RELY LOVE CATHERJNE LAYDEN...SHE IS A BREATH OF FRESH AIR..
❤❤❤
Just baking this for Christmas 2020, can't wait
❤❤❤❤
Can I soak the fruit overnight first and rather than whiskey (Hate it! Use Brandy Instead?).Thanks, cake looks delicious 😋

I find all spirits to strong for cakes. I soak my fruit in Marsala, a lovely rich fortified wine.
How do I turn off Sub titles on the cooking videos?
Huge fan of Catherine Leyden
The woman is too untidy and seems to be in a hurry.
