I like to visit this calm city!
I cannot believe how quiet the city is. I can remember going to Queen Street in 1985 on a Saturday morning and it was like this back then, but we are now living in 2024! The population was so much smaller in the 1980s and that was also before the tourism boom. In the late 90’s if you went into town during the week, you would’ve seen an endless stream of people walking up and down each side of Queen Street. It was lively and vibrant. Central Auckland has been killed by Covid, crime, homelessness and endless construction.
This is saturday morning In Winter before the shops are even open.
Midday summertime the place is heaving with people.
Mr Stepper (my nickname for him) at the start. Haven't seen him for a while. He'll be there for ages doing that...
Bring me home 😢 back to new zealand 😢 please 😢

Queen Street not the same, I've alway's liked walking down Queen Street you get a buzz good exercise,not so exciting like it use to be back in the 80's it was busy all the shop's were filled,now just heard Smith n caughey closing next year all the arcarde's are empty quite sad now,I still like going for a walk down Queen Street though, I'm not a mall person I get bored,I pray Queen Street will come back to Life one day👑💙🎶🎵🎶
