Thank you for the excellent ideas! A random thought: Examine the base of the bike rack you are locked to. There are just six small bolt heads which would last only seconds for an angle grinder, and they could steal the rack too. I used to live in SF last century and worked in construction there. I learned that a white hard hat and a clipboard got you ANYWHERE! Add a florescent vest and you can use POWER TOOLS on the street, taking stuff away, and nobody notices. I was not a criminal, just a hard-working tradesman! I just bought a mid-price e-bike and will be using the fifteen feet of half-inch hardened and galvanized chain that I used to use with my motorcycle, making multiple loops through the bike with THREE monster padlocks.............................elsullo
