The best way I’ve seen a vehicle stored on a ship in a game has been in Mass Effect Andromeda where the Nomad is stored on the Tempest and you can customise it and go and look at it whilst you are in space. Being able to see it on the ship was awesome, it would be cool if that could be done in future in starfield. Maybe a vehicle storage hab. Plus I would love to see a solo motorbike for when in playing solo without companions. It would be awesome if you could store a bike on board as well, and have it visible lol. Brings whole new meaning to the idea of the workshop hab lol. Maybe have variants of the workshop hab for vehicles.
Eh, I'd be happy with just being able to customize it. But, I am the type of player that only ever keeps 1 ship, so multiple buggies are of no interest for me.
Just a public service announcement I thought I'd throw out there it would appear that certain mods (most likely mods that alter shipbuilding and add categories or new parts) are going to really screw up the REV 8 menu where you cannot recolor it or even show up at all you just get hundreds of other parts showing but not the buggy. If anyone happens to find a fix or a solution please feel free to post it cuz I'm pretty sure a lot of people are suffering from this bug or mod conflict or whatever the hell it is.
Yeah I just thought I'd let everyone know about this potential issue, obviously I'm affected by it too and I'm still trying various methods on how to fix it and having no luck. although I am having fun driving around various cities with the exception of neon because that's an entire water Planet there's no ground to drive on.@@marconihimself
When entering and exiting the vehicle it’s a bit *buggy* . Also it does get slammed to a stop by seemingly nothing if you hit the ground at a weird angle after boosting. Other than that, it really is such an amazing addition. I can see mods changing the speed and sounds, and even completely changing the appearance. Quite amazing potential here.

Okay, that sholuld make exploring lifeless planets a lot easier. If you can see resource veins in the scanner while effectively flying in the buggy it will make for a nice way to scout for Outpost locations on the go. But you just know that Bethesda is going to sell a separate vehicle later for $10 as a paid mod.
That buggy seems cool and all, but it's somewhat late to the party. Now I really like Starfield and it was favorite game last year and so far this year for now, but I think I am done with Starfield and I will play Shattered Space eventually and then I will try out the buggy. Either way have fun Crimson.
This Rover is something else you can drive it a cross open water. It is a blast when taking on Tetramorphs outside of New Atlantis a lot of fun. You need to go into the game play if on console they put exiting rover and boost both on "B". I changed it to "A" to get in and hold down "A" to exit. really a lot of fun.
Nice review. And really nice rampage through New Atlantis! It's definitely a shame about the ship building changes - which might well be a bigger downgrade than the buggy is an upgrade - but I'm sure modders will get around that soon enough. Looks like a fun addition though.

Well, it was fun for a while, but I like my jet pack better. When I try to paint it, the menu shows random ship parts instead of the buggy. Nice vehicle, great programming, but the way it just appears by my smallish ship brakes my immersion. thx Crim S

Dont know if bug but i cant access my buggy just its accessories . But there is actually an m class cargo container rlo320cargo container that this buggy would fit in perfectly. Wish i could mod. Hope you all get your merge problem sorted
The vehicle doesnt spawn for me after I purchase it, and the technician keeps trying to sell me one. I noticed that in my game after I buy it it shows me an option to "set it active", like it was a ship, which didnt show up for you. Hopefully modders will figure it out or a hotfix will come (unlikely).
I mean for the pure vanilla players this might be helpful, but for us modders it offers nothing of value, as I already can fly like Superman through the atmosphere and scan and loot crazy fast, so this was no fun for me at all... I was hoping them to give us a flying or floating bike or jet packs with retractable wings to smoothly get anywhere we want...
They should fix this so that it works with mods, because for me I can purchase the vehicle but I can't activate it. I'm not going to jeopardize my save which has over 10 mods just to have a vehicle. Bethesda, if you're listening, please patch this up stat so it can work with mods
I'm on Xbox using about 50 different mods, weapons, ship parts, all sorts etc, the only mod I had to delete to get the buggy working was the community patch mod, if you're using the unofficial patch mod I'd delete that as well.
I think a mod i have is screwing with the vehicle - went to the ship dude, buy vehicle, but it is showing 400+ vehicles to cycle through but they are just all the ship parts that particular vendor has - never did find the buggy but was able to purchase it - just can't recolor it (on PC) - never thought of going to settings so thanks for that
I am having the exact same issue but on Xbox. and I am trying for the life of me to figure it out. if anyone can figure out what might be causing it that would be great but I have a feeling it's one of the shipbuilding mods like better ship flip parts or something like that I don't know something that adds a lot of parts or categories.
even more interesting - after restarting Steam and the game there are now 700+ parts - including parts for "star stations," most interesting of which are deployable star station ships (lots of piping and other bits and pieces too) - plugged into some secret updates?
Had to start from scratch because some mods absolutely broke the game and I am unable to activate the rover, once I figure out which mod is causing the issues I’ll report back.
Gets you from point A to point B faster. Fun to drive. Companion friendly. No downside here. Yeah. The SALTSHAKERS will dump on it. But they always dump on everything. LOL!!! What fun little folk they are.

Bethesda doesn’t fix their mistakes. Modders do. They ain’t gonna do anything just like they did when they broke FO4 Rest assured, modders will find a way and then Bethesda will break it again on 9/30.
To be honest Bethesda proved everybody wrong, seems really solid, so they CAN in fact make vehicles and driving mechanics.

it would have less traction and grip in low gravity, thus making it accelerate slower. Pretty sweet detail.
You can park it in Hope 4 Landing Bay if you want to role play.

Is being able to use a buggy instead of doing a running simulator worth having all of our ships bugged out ?
Seems to "just work" lol but was it worth it? I'm 100% salty about merging being patched.
Haven’t had a chance to try it yet but it kinda looks like it controls like a Mako from Mass Effect which is cool

I can’t get the rover to work. I buy it and the vendor takes my money but then it doesn’t become active and nothing happens if I press a to activate.

The rover is goofy on real low G planets and needs a little more boost bar re-charge to be effective travel

some UI mods are bugged out with the update. For me, it was the one that shows power names on HUD.
My problem is it won't spawn and I keep purchasing it but can't set to active.
