  • We bought this wheel and tyre set up knowing that a bit of work would be needed to make them fit...
    We didn't however, realise how much work would be involved.
    With the Touareg now lifted, its time to get them on!
    If you missed it, see our previous video to see what challenges we had to over come in this video: • WILL THEY FIT? New Whe...

    Your build on the treg is coming along nicely. As I had mentioned before, a bull bar would look slick on the front. You intercoolers could be moved some where else. Just a thought

    Would be nice to compare it's offroad capabilities next to a Land Cruiser 80/100 or a Patrol Y60 Y61 I am pretty sure VW would do better than expected once it's finished, thanks for the videos guys ! :D

      use same size tyres with lc80, i prefer VW, a friend of mine has a lc 80 use same size tyres and 3 lockers, i always impressed him, but yet the lc80 never impressed me or anyone of our off road club, Jeep wrangler 35inch 37 inch is the best off roader in our club, then my touareg, then those Toyota lc 80 fj cruiser and Jeep grand cherokee same tyre size.(32-33inch) after that Mitsubishi pajero v3× 7× 9×. All those car are modified for off road, but not too heavy modified, except wranglers. And the landrover disco 3 and 4 are very similar to touareg, disco 4 is even better in someway. The Only thing is under body protect, i can't find any production for it.

    The question is, what Off Road and All Terrain tyres do Cullinan owners fit ? Apparently they only have standard road and winter tyres, all low profile and foam filled to reduce noise ?

  • @perarduaadastra873
    @perarduaadastra873 Год назад +1

    Long term with two V10 Touareg, living off road, I have been unable to use GoodYear General “All Terrain” Tyres because the side walls keep getting sliced by sharp fist sized rocks .
    Why can’t someone make a stronger side wall on an ALL Terrain tyre ?
    Fitted 275/65/18 Cooper STT but they are very noisy on the motorway and don’t handle wonderfully on tarmac.

      We had the same issue with ATs. Shame as the grip was manageable in mud and snow. Maxxis Big horns are fairly quiet on the motorway considering their off road capabilities.

    Do you have problems with propshaft or with differentials because bigger tires? Or weird sounds coming from that direction? I ask you because I have these problems, also on a Touareg, and I was told that because of the tires because they are not suitable, but I am only 31 inches and I do not think there are problems because of this.

    • @DarksideDevelopments
      @DarksideDevelopments  2 года назад

      We killed a few props but they are fairly weak. We have a decent upgrade listed in our shop. With Abuse the transfer failed but it's a 130,000 mile car that likely wasn't maintained. Everything else seems strong.
