That has literally added double the play value of that ship. Why were Kenner/Palitoy so blind to this kind of thing? Dave, top quality as usual and Kudos to your Subscriber who thought of it.
Really great idea. The inside was always boring as a child, not helped by the horrible green floor, and that sticker just makes the inside as cool as the outside. Top work.
WOW. That really changed the feel of the cargo hold. Now it seems like a functional part of the ship rather than just a loading mechanism for the figure. 10/10!
Great little project well done! - some lovely details and thought. Keeping it all the same style of graphics really does stay true to the vintage feel while making the ship that much better,
I think that definitely stands out great and it does it justice there without disrespecting the original toy and I very much liked the stickers that you also did with the X Wing Fighter and Snowspeeder.
Brilliant. May have a go at this if I can get donor parts cheap enough. What would finish it off would be to add red / white micro LEDs to the panel to bring it to life. An inspiring project 👍🏻
Super neat, David. And I really enjoyed watching you do the sticker design. You might know this already, but just in case: If you would want to have more control to make the wiring, you could use paths. Draw a path, then use the "stroke" command, having selected a brush size and a colour. Then draw the next path, stroke, and on and on. The advantage is that you can reposition the control points and change the curvature of each wire.
Fantastic. I've been looking forward to this episode. I was always amazed that Kenner/Palitoy never created a simple cardboard insert for inside Slave 1. I'm definitely going to have a go at this myself. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
Wonderful work! I still say that a light just above (opposite) the carbonite Han would not only illumine Han in a very sci-fi-esque way but would also add another dimension to the ship should you decide to add a panel in place of him.
Got a little inspired by this project and have nearly finished my own version, just need the paper to make the stickers up, used slightly different light colours so as to make mine a little individual. Have to say I really enjoyed sourcing parts and building it up from an old and well played with slave 1, would love to see more custom ship builds :)
Toy Polloi this was just amazing! I don't know who Ms. or Mrs. Polloi is, but you must be blessed to have someone who (I assume based on the amazing content you put out) supports you. Very amazing stuff as always. Wishing you the best... Thanks.
Hello Dave awesome job on your restoration Sir. I just purchased a couple of your pdfs to make the Star Wars decals. Can you recommend a specific brand or pick of decal printer paper including what finish do you use. Can you tell me where to purchase it. Thanks.
I don't use any specific brand. Whatever looks good when I am buying. Finish depends on the look you are going for. Matt or gloss. Both look nice. With Matt you can also spray a clear lacquer on to give it a satin finish.
Hi Dave. do you know if the 1996 "shadow of the empire" slave 1 is the same mold as the original? I just picked one up with missing ramp but want to also add the new inner sticker shown in your video.
Love this custom! I don't know if you're aware but there is a eBay seller out of cypress Texas. Selling this.... He even lists your name in the description. Seemed like that would be something you would like to know about. It's listed for 7.99 plus 5.00 shipping. Not trying to cause issues just wanted you to know. It struck me as someone profiting off your hard work.
You can buy the comic backing boards 1 or a pack at a time. I'll work on your care package after the new year. I'll also show you an easy way to tighten joints w/o plumbers (teflon) tape. I was amazed with your Lego trick to repair Star Wars figure heads.
That interior looks way better
That last piece just MAKES the ship. Love it.
That has literally added double the play value of that ship. Why were Kenner/Palitoy so blind to this kind of thing?
Dave, top quality as usual and Kudos to your Subscriber who thought of it.
That looks amazing. The Falcon on the monitor is a really lovely touch.
Really great idea. The inside was always boring as a child, not helped by the horrible green floor, and that sticker just makes the inside as cool as the outside. Top work.

Nice touch. After wrapping the shoot, I'm sure Toy Polloi busted out his other Star Wars toys and had a session with Slave One.
Really captures the look of the vintage line and the Falcon on the monitor is inspired. :D
Outstanding work! Thanks for the shout-out as well.
+OIFEagle Thanks. It was a good idea, so nice to give credit where it's due.
Custom slave 1 looks superb.
There is a perfect area on the cardboard insert you have created for a clip to hold Fetts blaster rifle.
I just watched this with my 6 year old son....and we both reckon that what you did with that insert you made is pretty awesome.
+teenagefc Thanks!
I feel a few stickers on the wings would really tie the whole thing together. The insert is awesome!
Great little project well done! - some lovely details and thought. Keeping it all the same style of graphics really does stay true to the vintage feel while making the ship that much better,
Thank you very much!
Your custom stickers are the best I've ever seen
Wow, thanks!
Generally speaking, I'm a purist for original parts and appearance, but this is a work of art. Well done!
That's so cooooool ! I never thought to create stickers to enhance my old toys, man that's genius !!
definitely a nice finishing touch
Love the passion you bring to making toys great!
I think that definitely stands out great and it does it justice there without disrespecting the original toy and I very much liked the stickers that you also did with the X Wing Fighter and Snowspeeder.
Downloaded your custom sticker sheets, fantastic. Very well done and looks great now
This turned out amazing
That sticker is VERY cool and vintage looking to boot! Great work
Really looks great. That was a good idea.
Very good. Very Blue Peter. Love it.
Brilliant. May have a go at this if I can get donor parts cheap enough. What would finish it off would be to add red / white micro LEDs to the panel to bring it to life. An inspiring project 👍🏻
it turned out great, impressed!
Looks like my Toy Polloi X-wing and Snow Speeder will have a new sibling soon. Well done Dave!
+MrStr8leg Excellent!
Had to watch this again, such a beautiful piece.
I enjoyed this series very much☺️

+allluckyseven Thanka for the tips. I do know how to do that, I just like to work free form and quickly on some things.
Fantastic. I've been looking forward to this episode. I was always amazed that Kenner/Palitoy never created a simple cardboard insert for inside Slave 1. I'm definitely going to have a go at this myself. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
Great work! Maybe in part 4 you can show us the way to make a cargo door replica, which is always missing and really expensive to get.
absolutely awesome. makes me want to add this to mine.
love the stickers!! awesome!!
That is really the best, David! Awesome! Thank you a lot
It's a shame Kenner didn't think of that years ago.
Wonderful work! I still say that a light just above (opposite) the carbonite Han would not only illumine Han in a very sci-fi-esque way but would also add another dimension to the ship should you decide to add a panel in place of him.
Wonderful. I'd love to see more mods like this. great job.
+Riccardo Di Toto I'd like to do more as well. It all depends what toys I can find cheaply.
What a fantastic custom job. Really really good. Keep up the great work

Amazing work,looks awesome 😍
absolutely amazing!
This is excellent, nice custom..

Thanks. Mrs Toy Polloi does get what I do and why I enjoy it. She is very supportive :D
Awesome!
So Awesome!!! I love the insert
DOnt normally like customs, but this is really good :)
That's beautiful, i love it!
fantastic, and inspiring
fantastic thanks, love your videos!
Waiting for engine light diffusers.
Very cool.
That looks better than before! Why, I can imagine a Kenner-esque catalogue appearance of it! Also, what do you think of Rocket-Firing Boba Fett?
Really interesting, should have your own show, would rival James may on BBC4 for restoration purposes
I agree! Come on BBC, time to give me a show of my own! :D
Have you thought about putting some decals/stickers on the inside of the removable door opposite the wall panel you created?
I have. But I'm slightly jaded about doing them as people are already reselling these without my permission on eBay and my hearts just not in it.
I hear ya...I would feel the same way when I do my custom figure projects.
Superb.
Where can I get the led lights I love what you did to the ship
Watch the other parts of the series as I cover the whole process in those. Cheers
great job, what software are you using to make the labels?

Very nice
Amazing!
+InteUtanMinCykel Thanks
I've actually never seen that nice white cart in a pack of printing paper; which brand and type are you referring to?
It comes in all sorts. I buy packs of sticky backed paper or other specialist papers and this is in all of them.
Hi Dave. do you know if the 1996 "shadow of the empire" slave 1 is the same mold as the original? I just picked one up with missing ramp but want to also add the new inner sticker shown in your video.
I have no idea. I've never looked at that version of slave one. Do you have photos of the inside?
yes i do. and watching your video again I am 99.9% sure it is the same mold. Thanks for the reply
That's cool. Good to know.
Love this custom!

Thanks. Yeah I know and there is nothing I can do about. eBay won't help. Please don't buy from him. Cheers
Great addiction!
I love this
How about adding a decal of a gun rack with guns on the side of that removable back panel, because you know Boba Fett has more than just one gun.
You can use comic book backing boards
+Big John Popeko Good idea. I don't collect comics, but I know what you mean.
You can buy the comic backing boards 1 or a pack at a time. I'll work on your care package after the new year. I'll also show you an easy way to tighten joints w/o plumbers (teflon) tape. I was amazed with your Lego trick to repair Star Wars figure heads.
😎
PC work at the best
Just promise us you'll attempt to find a back pannel instead of Han.
+Roadbuster Reviews I'm always on the look out. But prices are too high for my pocket at the moment.
