  • In this episode we explore the ruins of Dalmorton Village on the Old Glen Innes Road, as well as the hand cut Dalmorton Tunnel. Then we head off through Guy Fawkes River National Park, taking in the scenic views from the lookouts along the way. We pop out just East of Ebor Falls, which is a spectacular waterfall that needs to be on your bucket list before heading north towards Stonehenge and Deepwater. This is Day 2 of our off road camping and overlanding trip through the Clarence Valley, Northern New South Wales.

    A Random Story.
    We love our overlanding camping and enjoy nothing more than off-grid adventure and wilderness exploration. Americans may say RV travel and New Zealanders perhaps say backcountry camping but you will need off-road vehicle and perhaps watch some camping gear reviews and campsite setup tips to help with your caravan set up. We are turning our Jeep Gladiator into a fantastic rig with our overland vehicle build. We need to watch our towing weights for our full time travel Lap of Australia. We will be heading off to some remote locations of Australia so we can capture some amazing landscape, scenic views, Australian wildlife and nature photography and videography. We have a gear addtction with our Cannon cameras and DJI drone. Beyond our love for off-grid adventures, we thrive on day trips away from the hustle and bustle of the city, advocating for eco-tourism and sustainable travel practices. If you're traversing Australia or caravaning around the continent, passionate about overlanding, off-road camping, and enamored with travel photography and videography, this video is a must-watch. Whether you're seeking things to do in Grafton, Armidale, or Glen Innes, our journey promises to inspire and ignite your wanderlust.

      I know it’s getting closer but it is still so far away. I think it will feel so real when the Lifestyle Reconn arrives.

      Thanks Jeremy. Yes it’s great to be finally getting back out and about. We haven’t been out for last few weeks as we continue finalising the build on Sarge. We are working on a big trip soon that should be epic.

    I went to the Dalmorton tunnel about a year ago, met a lovely lady who was showing her Granddaughter the tunnel, she told us a story of when she was a little girl and she watched the men who had volunteered to fight in the war march through the tunnel, they marched from Glen Innes to Grafton to catch the train and head off to war !! Amazing story.

      Wow that’s an incredible story you are so luck to have heard that from her. Sadly we read that the majority of people who went to war from nearby at Newton Boyd failed to return. Such a terrible time in the world history.

    The little building you originally called the butchers was the prison cell. Pretty sure the other building in that yard was the police station originally.
    NP workers then used to use it. It was all locked up last time I went there a fair few years ago.

      Thank you so much. Yeah we were not confident and I should’ve gone back over and looked at the map and not trusted Leisa’s assessment 😂

    Hi guys. Does Old Glenn Innes Road allow hybrid caravans? As usual, there's so much conflicting information out there on it.

    • @filthyoffroadadventures
      @filthyoffroadadventures  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi, we did not see anything that says caravans are not allowed and we spotted some off road small vans out there camping. The tunnel height is said to be around 3.3 metres and as long as your hybrid is standard width , you will get through the tunnel.
      We do need say that the road does narrow in spots, so if you do meet another vehicle coming the other way, there is no option but to reverse until you find a spot wide enough for passing. And in some spots the road does drop off down to the river so it might appear daunting to some drivers to reverse in those spots. But if you are a confident with reversing a van, you should be okay.
      We wouldn’t recommend taking a large on road van out there. The tracks on the TSR camping grounds are rough and you need high clearance and it would be tough reversing a large van if you do meet another vehicle on the road.
      We did leave our camper on TSR land on the Grafton side of the tunnel and explore the Glen Innes side without it.
      You definitely cannot tow up to Tommy’s rock lookout.
      We towed the camper up Chaelundi Road. The road was in excellent condition except for a few hundred metres where the road was only slightly rutted. The steepness of this road surprised us a little bit , and we certainly felt the camper behind us on the hills. This road went more south and popped out east of Ebor .
      There is not much information on the road, and that is a damn shame as there is a lot of amazing things to see and do out there.
